This is a difficult question for me, but honestly... I'd rather not be. I never was all that a memorable person, except to a few people anyway, and I wouldn't want those that came close to me to suffer over my death. I'd want them to be happy, and be able to move on with their lives. I would never want to drag them down.

You cannot be remembered as someone who did something without at least someone grieving about your death. They're not at all exclusive.

On that specific topic, though, I still say no. It would of course be nice to remembered in that way, but I would rather be forgotten than quoted out of context or thought of as something that I clearly am not.

well i want to be remembered but only because if im not remembered than how does anyone even know that i ever existed? how does anyone kno that i had dreams and acomplishments? that i had fear and pain. because honestly if your remembered than your not really dead, you live on, just in a different form

^Well you just defined "being remembered" as two different things: being remembered for accomplishing something and just being remembered by your loved ones. You wouldn't have to be remembered as a historic figure in order to live on, you could do the same through the hearts of those who care about you. It would just be on a smaller scale.

Do I personally want to be remembered? Well... Kind of. As far as being remembered as a person, well, I could really care less either way. I do, however, want my ideas to be remembered, my art to be enjoyed when im gone, qnd my beliefs to be practiced when im gone. I guess what im sayig is that I dont really want to be remembered, i just want everything Im living for to survive the death of my ouny mortal soul! I want thespark in me to continue burning when Im gone.

    It doesn't matter. It's irrelevant.

I would like to be remembered by my friends and family only because I don't want someone who didn't know me personally to judge me. I don't want to be in some history textbook, I want to be in memories, and slowly lay my part of the world when all my loved ones die. Being remembered in stories would be fine too, I mean, I would like it if someone remembered me in a story that was told by mouth, or a story I've written and they remember me as an author.

I've already decided that I want my funeral on a Friday night and that it's going to be a huge celebration. That's really what it's supposed to be, right? But after that, I couldn't care less if people remember me. Unless you become famous or something, once all of the people who knew you die, you'll be forgotten anyway. But that's just my opinion...

Yes I would. If I am remembered after I pass on then I must have affected someones life in a positive way. Also, if my friends or family didn't remember me then my spirit and teachings [things people have learned from me] won't live on.

I feel that way too. I would love a wikipedia page about me with a long and incredable filmography.
