    I want to be remembered.
If you're not remembered, you really didn't effect anyone's life. It's almost like you were never there.

I honestly do not care, after I die I'm just dead, I could care less what the living do after I'm gone, as long as they don't mess with my grave.

I want people to have good memories with me and of me. My family and friends mean the world to me, if they ever thought about after I died and smiled then I'd be perfectly content.

God, I hope not. I'm not really the sort of person you'd want to remember for the rest of your life.

Ricky Gervais sums up my POV on the matter pretty well at 1:57 - 2:02.
Essentially, the only loose form of an afterlife I believe in is in the memories of the people I've affected in some way. Whether it be my relatives or friends or even people I've never met. That's what I aspire to.

I honestly don't care if I'm remembered. Why should I? I'm dead. See, I think that the need to be remembered is a mental need, not spiritual. I think that if I die, it won't matter to my spirit because you shouldn't have to be needed or rembered to feel successful. This is only my opinion, feel free to disagree.

I would want to be remembered mostly by my family as someone who went down a dark road but came back and did right by my loved ones.

Being remember isn't a big issue for me, I just want to do right by people, and even if we aren't remembered, that doesn't mean we haven't done good in the world.

Knowing I make my fiance happy means more to me than being remembered. Bringing up a child who is loved, with good ethics/morals, and they instill that into their children is something we may not be praised for, but we still had a hand in doing.

I used to want to be remembered, to do something good that helped the world, a foundation that people could build upon and make something amazing out of, but right now I'm just happy building upon the foundations other people have build.

I don't think people should be fussed about being remembered, but raising children who make this world better for at least one person, to make them smile, especially with how society is nowadays is something amazing.

@Emma; even though you aren't praised, doesn't mean you didn't change anything. You don't need to be talked about/remembered to have made this world better.

In all honesty, I don't know if I want to be remembered. I mean, some things I have done have been pretty stupid on my part.

I'd like to be remembered, but in a good way. I'd like people to think back and reemmber positive happy times. I'd like to be remembered for doing good things for people. However, if my rembrence brings too much sorrow, no matter if I did good or bad, I wouldn't want to be remembered.

I've lost a lot of people over the years. I've honestly been to more funerals over the years then I care to remember. I feel awful for saying this, but there are a lot of people I used to be close to that I've forgotten at this point their names, faces, etc. The people that I still remember though are people who have touched my life in a way that has made a change in me. I want to be remembered, but even more then that, I want to be that person who's managed to alter someone's life. (in a good way) My actions can mean much more then my name ever can.

I'm a horrible person who's done many horrible things. & My life has no importance to anybody, so why would people even WANT to remember me in the first place? Plus, I don't really think death is supposed to be remembered. LIFE is the thing that you're supposed to think about. Don't focus on why/when/where/how the person died, but why/when/where/how they fucking LIVED.

Death is an awful, horrible thing. I don't want to be remembered or glorified in any way, whether it be my death or previous existence.

I'd like to be remembered for being a good comrade changing the bad rep that communism gets.

I personally don't really care if I'm remembered or not. Once I'm dead, I'm dead.

I'm not sure whether I want to be remembered after death or not, but I at least want to make an impact while I'm alive. If that means being famous and helping out generations by getting them to aspire to be something more, or even just making a contribution to scientific advances, I want to leave some sort of mark on history.

A lot of the things I would like to be would mean only a select few would remember me after death, mainly family and friends. But I wouldn't mind if I did have a larger number of people, so long as I don't become one of those that everyone suddenly loves as soon as they died and go on about how tragic it is.
