I love Chopin and Shostakovich... and Liszt.
I am kind of new, but I made mibba a whole long time ago.
I don't know if there's another thread for this so.
    Yeah?

Are we just talking classical composers, or can we talk about ones from different periods? Such as Baroque, Romantic, etc?

If it's the latter, I love Aaron Copland. Well, Rodeo by him, anyway. It's so fun to play and listen to. tehe Romance by Shostakovich is beautiful as well.

Yeah, I don't really have favourite composers... more like favourite pieces by various composers. XD

She might mean all 'classical' composers as opposed to Classical composers. A lot of people don't differentiate unless they actually know about the different periods. I used to call all those 'classical' music.

I know, I was just being a nitpicky musician about it since I'm a violinist. tehe Sorry if it came across as rude!

Beethoven and Rachmaninoff are my joint favourites. Closely followed by Chopin and Gershwin.

    Really like Handel and Chopin.

Though, really, right now I hate all classical music xD. AP Music Theory kinda makes me never want to see a piece of sheet music again haha.

    Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff, Atterberg, Bortkiewicz, Kabalevsky.

Really into the late romantics and 20th century composers at the moment.

    Beethoven.
I love him so much I can't even properly express In Love

I went to listen to the the Artemis Quartet once and I fell in love with Beethoven's string quartets. And there's a sonata for piano I'm searching like a crazy, I had it on my phone and lost it somehow, can't even remember the name Cry

People look weird at me when I say it, but I find Chopin's Funeral March amazing. I could listen to it all day. Hail well, Chopin is amazing.

Mozart and Bach, like them both, but I find them too "happy" for me. I like music with some "drama" to it, if it makes sense tehe But Mozart's Requiem is simply breathtaking.

I really like Beethoven, especially his 5th Symphony and Moonlight Sonata, but I kind of like Grieg as well (Hall of the Mountain King).

I've never gotten tired of hearing or playing Mozart. His style just... fits me (if that makes sense?). I also love Berlioz, and feel similarly about his music :)

^^ He's absolutely amazing, some of his stuff is breathtaking.

I never even admit to liking composers (because that wouldn't be cool, would it?), but I'm a massive fan of Debussy and Chopin. And Rodriguez does some beautiful guitar pieces. but I'm not sure if he's counted as classical or not. Oh well tehe
