What are your teachers like?
Honestly, it depends on the teacher. A lot of the science teachers at my school know what they're talking about, but they can't really explain it well. A lot of the fine arts teachers, as much as I hate to admit it, pick favorites - which is alright... when you're one of the favorites. But then there are just some teachers are just amazing. They make class fun, make the subject a little easier to understand, and are great story tellers - there are a few of them in every department I think, but a lot of them tend to fall in the social studies department.
What are the trends at your school?
Merp. I don't know why and I don't know what it means. People just like saying it. It's annoying, catchy, and... a little funny.
This is typically a trend among freshman/sophomores, but about a good chunk of the girls in those grades wear booty shorts (and then the upperclassmen are the only ones that get yelled at for wearing them...), especially the freshman.
What are some of the students like?
Mmm... well, at my school we don't really have a clique problem. Some of the jocks are brainiacs, some of the brainiacs are in art, a few art students are in band, a lot of band students do journalism, journalism students do choir, choir kids do theatre, some theatre kids are in woodshop... and so-on. We're all pretty open to everybody else, but at the same time we all like to tease and make fun of everybody.
It seems that the "freshman" get worse every year. All of my teachers say that it's just us getting older, or that people say that every year. But last year we had like... four or five fights in a span of three days. And guess what? All of the girls - and two guys - who were fighting were freshman.
What's your school's reputation?
The whore school, since the day-care is open to the students. But it's not my school's girls who are getting knocked up. The district sends all of the other girls in the district that get pregnant to my school, then we get dubbed as the school where everyone is sleeping around with everyone else. But we're also known for our amazing theatre department.
What's the population?
1,500 I think? That was the population my freshman year, I think, and it roughly changes every year, but not by much.
Private School? Uniforms? Same Sex School?
Nope, public. Any gender. No uniforms, thank God, but this year they're really cracking down on the dress-code.
School issues? School Punishments?
We have a really big tardy issue at my school. A new policy this year, at least for the first few weeks, is to have teachers shut & lock their doors right after the bell rings. Any student who is then still in the hallway has to go get a pass from somewhere/someone that they haven't told us - and you have to have your student I.D. with you, otherwise you can't get a pass into class - and then go back to class. Anyone who is still in the hallway fifteen minutes after the bell is sent to the cafeteria (which I don't know how that's going to work during the lunch block...) and lectured throughout the rest of the block about, "the importance of getting to class on time." So basically, you get I.S.S. for the block. But what I don't get is why "punish" students who obvisouly don't want to be in class by giving them a, "free get out of class" card...?
We only have one way into the student-parking lot. Pretty big issue, if you ask me, and I'm a bus rider.
