I was in the list! Yes! Dance
Lulz, I was watching their interview with Stephen Colbert last night. Billie's little fast song joke was awful, I just loved it. I forgot how much I loved that interview until last night. In Love

    Yay! New thread!

Seeing as I've been lurking on thread sixteen for the last seventy-five pages and only started posting in the last four, I figured I should properly introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Sadie: Green Day fan since American Idiot and currently in the process of listening to everything pre-AI. Nice to meet you all. :) [/awkward]

    You guys seen this?

Nice to meet you, Sadie. I'm Mel. Arms We love it when new people start posting regularly.

Yeah, I heard about that last night. In my opinion, the movie is overkill but then again, I'm not going to form a solid opinion about it until I see it.
I was against the musical at the very beginning but after I saw clips from it and heard the music, I realised how beautiful and...well, amazing it was.

I've seen the musical twice (one of the perks of living in New Jersey is that I can go to Broadway a lot) and I was surprised how good it actually was. My dad is a Green Day fan too so he also really enjoyed it.

This is one of those things where it'll be AMAZING if they do it right but it'll be HORRIBLE if it messes up. If they do it like that movie with the Who's music... starts with a Q, can't remember the exact title... it'll turn out good but if it's all Mamma Mia! or Hairspray it'll just turn the album into the laughingstock of the movie industry, in my opinion.

And I think that Green Day should be focusing on putting out a new album now rather than side projects.

It's just my opinion but I think that a lot of the people who commented on the article agree.

I completely agree with that. It has the potential to blow people away but if it's in the wrong hands it could be a complete disaster.
I still think that the musical and book were...enough...to illustrate the story of AI. I just don't see why it needs to be a feature film.
I would like to see them close the American Idiot chapter, once the musical closes on Broadway, and focus on new material.

As I've said before, I would rather they bring out a dvd of the musical. I would LOVE that.

A DVD of the musical would be cool. They'd make a lot of money with that because people who live where they can't see the musical would immediately get it.
(I wrote a musical of the DVD by accident first... ha ha)

I know I would get it the day it came out! XD I have only seen a blurry bootleg of it so an official HQ one would be the most amazing thing ever.

I hope that Billie plays St. Jimmy in the movie.

That'd be interesting. He's certainly got the charisma and the acting ability though St. Jimmy barely has any lines in the musical but singing and we all know that Billie can sing... (I saw it twice, once with Tony Vincent as St. Jimmy and the other with St. Billie Joe.)

(Oh, and could you please add me to the list if it's not too much trouble?)

I'm not going to listen to any rumors about casting or things like that until it is actually real and not a rumor anymore xD

I don't want to get worked up over one thing to find out that it's not true.
But on that note, as much as I really want Green Day to just go back into the studio, I do think Billie could pull it off. I saw him as St. Billie and he was just...fantastic. It was so different, yet still similar, to how he is at a Green Day show. I was blown away by how well he fit in on the Broadway stage.
But as for him being in the movie? I can see it working out but I don't know if I could see him actually doing it...? I don't know, he always manages to surprise me with the things he does so who knows. tehe

Yeah, that's true. Although if you have seen his little cameo in that old Matthew Fox show 'Haunted' he was a pretty good actor.
The only reason I wouldn't want to see Billie acting in the movie would be that it could possibly detract attention from the story. You know, a lot of people would go see it just to see Billie Joe acting. Good for revenue but not so good for the other actors getting a shot at the limelight.
I think he could surprise everyone with his acting skills if he decided to be in the movie. Realistically, I can't see him actually being in it, though.

Yeah, like, I think that he could do it and it could work out for everyone but at the same time I don't think that he would do it because it would take away from the true actors.
And besides, I can't really see him getting too caught up in the 'I'm a musician and now I'm an actor' thing.

But who knows. It's all just talk right now....xD
