I agree with the video thing. I love watching International Superhits, but any of the new videos? Not really. If anything I just watch them for the short moment that Tre is doing something funny. XD

Unacceptable that the last comment for this thread was almost a month ago!

In other news, I've been obsessively stalking the boys instagrams, hoping that they'll post something new - particularly Tre's! That man is only mmpfff!

Just heard Dos and for some reason I'm more impressed with this than american idiot. I do love the album, but this seems more grown up and polished? Cant wait for Tre. I have that hunger that cant be fed until then.

Dos is flawless. I can't stop listening to the record. I bought the blue LP from HT. Totally worth it.
Lazy Bones ends up getting the most play from me. I think it has the most polished sound. I also really liked Nightlife and the fact that Green Day aren't afraid to take risks. I know a lot of people don't like that track but I like that it's so different.

I don't understand all of the hate for the new albums. Quite honestly, I think Lazy Bones is one of my favorites, if not my favorite song by the guys. I think people WANT to hate the albums because they're so different.

I like the new album overall, but Nightlife is a let down for me. I also don't like how everyone is reviewing it and saying it's the best of the trio. I know we haven't heard Tre! yet, but in my opinion, Uno! is way better than Dos!.

UNO is my least favourite of the trilogy. Lol. DOS is my favourite because of that old school sound... TRE sounds the most polished of the three and I need a bit more time to warm up to it but I think that Brutal Love and Dirty Rotten Bastards are fucking flawless. Can't stop listening to those.

I think out of all the songs on Tre DRB is my fave. I can't stand Sex, Drugs & Violence though. Like seriously, "sex drugs and violence, english math and science" wtf?

I kinda feel like the black sheep here... I honestly am not fond with their newer stuff. Good for them for experimenting and taking a different approach with their music, but I just think it's lacking both lyrically and instrumentally. With Uno, I was already kind of iffy. This is the first time that I've selectively downloaded specific songs, instead of getting the whole album, when it comes to buying Green Day's music. I really like Stay the Night, Angel Blue, Let Yourself Go, Kill the DJ, and Carpe Diem. I really like Stay the Night; I don't see why that's not playing on every radio station, it's catchy and just amazing.

With Dos, I only downloaded two songs: Amy and Stray Heart. Stray Heart is amazing. Seriously. Amazing song. The video had a lot of potential, but I think they ruined it and made it way too cheesy with that stupid little heart dude running around, smoking cigs, etc. With Tre, I honestly haven't downloaded any of the songs. The songs are good, but nothing that I'd go out of my way to buy or download. I kind of feel like that with all of their songs; they're good songs, but they don't amaze me and I don't think they're all that special/unique.

I think the trilogy is ok. Of course, I don't like every single song of every album but there are quite a lot that struck my fancy. Sure, it might not be their best stuff but it's definitely not bad either and I think, in the end that is something we, as fans should be thankful for cause so many bands get overproduced/worse with time and Green Day hasn't.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but Green Day hasn't gotten overproduced? Uh, they've sold millions, perhaps billions, of albums, produced tons of videos/albums, released a couple documentaries, have been on Broadway with their own musical (as well as had an AI tour throughout the US), have a movie deal, and just released a TRILOGY of albums... I love, love, love Green Day, don't get me wrong, but I'd be lying if I said they haven't overproduced and gone over the edge with some of the things they've done (including having one of their songs in the Twilight movie).

With them getting "worse" with time is entirely up to the listener. I honestly like their older stuff more, but I agree that they haven't gotten "worse". Their sound has gotten much different, but hey, every band has to change/evolve over time. It'd most likely get boring if their sound never changed.

Yea, I probably should have been more specific. I meant overproduced in the musical sense, as them picking up on Dubstep or something. They sound different nowadays but it hasn't gotten to the point where you're thinking "Is that even Green Day anymore?". I admit their marketing is crazy but that's just how the business works and we all know it's a fucked up one.

I actually kind of feel like that about them with a few of their songs, but I know what you mean. Yeah, I wish music could just be music minus all of the money and greed.

I thought because I did it for Uno, I should also do it for Dos and Tre. So here are the track listings in order of my preference.

    Dos -
    1. Fuck Time
    2. Stray Heart
    3. Wild One
    4. Lazy Bones
    5. Amy
    6. See You Tonight
    7. Wow, That's Loud!
    8. Makeout Party
    9. Stop When The Red Lights Flash
    10. Baby Eyes
    11. Nightlife
    12. Ashley
    13. Lady Cobra

    Tre -
    1. Brutal Love
    2. Dirty Rotten Bastards
    3. Walk Away
    4. The Forgotten
    5. Missing You
    6. X-Kid
    7. Drama Queen
    8. 99 Revolutions
    9. Amanda
    10. 8th Avenue Serenade
    11. Sex, Drugs and Violence
    12. Little Boy Named Train

Tre is my personal favourite of the trilogy followed by Uno then Dos but they are all amazing in their own way.

Dos is my personal favorite, but I do love them all for their own reasons. Like some days I feel Tre more than Dos...others I find myself playing Uno a lot. I think that's the point and the best part of having a trilogy. I know a lot of people say they would rather have just one album, but 1. the songs wouldn't make a cohesive album & 2. it would be impossible to create just one album out of these 37 songs to please everyone.

I also like that you can definitely tell that the guys were just having fun on these albums. They weren't trying super hard to make some grandiose masterpiece or anything, which is fine. Just because people expect them to do that, doesn't mean they have to. They can do whatever the fuck they want. And on these albums, you can hear that they just let the songs come naturally and allowed themselves to play what they want without restricting themselves to one style.

I look at the trilogy as a fun "growing pains" type of stage, where they're just trying shit out, seeing what works, what they like, taking a break from being serious...THEN they'll try for a masterpiece when they're ready.

    Just my 2 cents.

So the new interview with Billie. I've read some spoilers and I think when I finally get to read the entire thing, my heart is going to explode and my face will be covered in tears.

I love Nightlife...I don't know why. It's just so...haunting and cool. And different. Isn't this their second song where they had someone be featured on? I know Letterbomb but I can't think of any other song.

I'm not into GD as much as I used to be, but this band is spending a few days next week literally TEN MILES away from my house rehearsing for thier upcoming tour that the company I work for did the lighting for.

Any of you going to see GD in the next month...you're gonna get a good light show.

I first started listening to Green Day 8 years ago. I've watched them evolve and struggle over the year and I just want to say I love more now than ever before. I admire them for every thing they've overcome. I believe they've only grown more talented and beautiful. I'll always love them.
