Who Inspires You?

I realized just now that I've posted on here earlier, but I forgot to list another group of people who really inspires me. Hollywood Undead. I know a lot of people only know them for their party songs and the "trashy image" or whatever...but if you dig past that and you really look at their lyrics, there's a lot of meaning and emotion in most of their songs and I really find a lot of inspiration in them.

The three people that inspire me are Gerard Way, Lady Gaga and Kathleen Hanna. Gerard lets me know that it's okay to be to be weird outcast, Gaga helps me express and love myself, and Kathleen is the bad ass chick rocker that I hope to be one day.

Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are my role models. My fashion sense is heavily influenced by Jimmy. I think what dazzles me about them is their longevity and originality in show biz. And also because they're so cool.

My celebrity inspirations are Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars.
I think in general, though, my role model is my aunt. Because she beat cancer once, and she's fighting it again, but only to extend her life. But she hasn't broke down in tears, she hasn't depressed herself. In fact, if she wasn't always in so much pain, she'd go to work and help with money for her son(my cousin) to pay off his college. She truly inspires me with everything she does. I love her so much.

My biggest inspirations are bands and their band members. My Chemical Romance generally make me feel like I can actually be a better person than the people at school who only care about music that doesn't have meaning or thought put into it, and so they say horrible things to the people around them. I feel like I don't have to be in with the crowd, and I can be friends with the uncool kids (though I am one).

Mindless Self Indulgence as a band just make me feel like I can do whatever I like, however weird, and I shouldn't worry about what others have to say about that because they're just too scared to express themselves. It's the reason I had the strength to carry on with drama which I love, but I never used to have the confidence to shout and use accents. Now I just do whatever's needed, even if it goes wrong.

My biggest inspiration though, is Kitty from Mindless Self Indulgence. As long as this thread keeps going, there is going to be someone saying that Lindsey inspired them the most. For me it's Kitty, and for so many reasons. She's in a band who are growing in fame, and yet she doesn't act like that. She doesn't put her life story all over the internet, and she doesn't even reveal her age. She doesn't have a twitter so she stays out of the limelight, and her husband keeps himself from fame too. I think she has children, but I'm not sure because she protects them from the fame. On top of being such a modest woman in a band, she is beautiful. I've seen a lot of hate comments around about how fat she is, and it's just disgusting. The fact that she ignores it all, comes back dressed even crazier and more creative than the time before, and performs so well is just what makes her such a huge inspiration to me.

The most badass of people, I would marry them all if I could.

Lovely people, all inspire me in their own way.

Also just the people around me at school and in the community inspire me to be something more, due to what they've achieved, or because of what they've not.

Robert Mapplethorpe because I can relate to him so much and by relating is lets me know that I am not alone in the feelings, you know? Actually, I took the book Just Kids to my therapist and showed her something he said in it that I related to very much and it helped her diagnose me. He was beautiful.

Incubus is my biggest inspiration for music. I just always connected with their music. Jack White is another influence for my guitar playing.

Non celebrity though :

My mom - even if she had to work a lot of overtime to support me and my sibs, she did it well. I know it wasn't easy for her after my parents divorced, so the fact that she tried to carry on like nothing was wrong and still loves us unconditionally is amazing and I love her for it. The woman is strong.

Siblings - They annoy me half the time, but the fact that I helped raised them at such a young age, I can't help but feel protective over them. They can be sweet when they want to be, but I'm grateful for them. They inspired me to take over that father role and look out for them the way an older brother should.

girlfriend - every damn she inspires me. She has given me so much support, even on the most dumbest subjects, she'll back me up when needed. She's patient and understanding, and even if she didn't like me all that much at first, I'm glad she loves me now :P but really she's just super amazing and I still wonder how I managed to reel a girl like her in.

my dad- even if he's a craptastic one sometimes, I guess he inspires me to NOT act that way with my children. He reminds me of all the things I don't want to do. So I guess in a way he did teach me a lesson, not to be such a ****tard towards your kids. C'est la vie.

most importantly, my kid - she technically won't be born until the end of October, but she already inspires me to be a better person. I feel more motivated about work and wanting to get things done for I know she needs that. She inspires me to want to be a great dad and be there for her always.

My father

I mean... that man is a genious... it's crazy with some of the things he is able to do... I wonder what went wrong with me sometimes... but I'm alright I guess. But he understands me through and through, I don't even have to tell him what's on my mind and he always... and I do mean always knows what to say, how to say it and when to say it. That smartie pants. I will forever love that man and I will make sure that I will make him more proud than he could ever be of his little girl.

Lori Earley, Kat Von D, Mikey Way, Lindsey Way, Gerard Way. Lori Earley because she is such an amazing and unique artist and Kat Von D for making me fall in love with tattoos. Mikey because..... Well he's Mikey fuckin' Way! Lindsey inspires because she has the same passions as I do- art and playing bass. If it wasn't for mindless self indulgence and Lindsey, I would NEVER have wanted to pick up a bass. I'm not even going to explain why Gerard inspires me. I think it pretty obvious why I look up to him.

Salvador Dali, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, George Harrison, and Laurence Olivier.

Dali because he was so incredible at what he did and was always in on the joke and the one that had the last laugh. Love him.

Dylan because he has always listened to himself above the noise of everyone else and trusts himself wonderfully so.

Guthrie because even though his physical life ended so tragically and even while he was living he was never treated well, he kept a smile and respected and was kind to everyone. He gave people a voice and was one of the first to do so. He is an icon.

Harrison because he was able to find peace and love and religion and did so beautifully.

Olivier because he was one of the most hardworking and dedicated people ever.

One person who has inspired me hugely is Demi Lovato. I'm not even a huge fan of her music, but I love her as a human being. She has helped me through tough times. My friends and I started this project inspired by her, it's called We Care Project.

My Mum and Dad

They're just genuinely amazing, funny and kind people. They've made me who I am (:

Surprisingly enough, one of my biggest inspirations is Miley Cyrus. I know she's not always very well perceived, and to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of her music or acting myself, but I truly respect her as a person. She's so positive and upbeat, and truly loves her family, friends and those around her. I also adore how she sees herself - she's confident and understands the difference between being full of yourself, and simply loving and accepting who you are. I think she has a lot of really good qualities, and she has definitely inspired me to be a more positive and loving person.

Misha Collins is a big, big inspiration for me. He just doesn't give a damn and just goes and helps people and is just himself. It's brilliant. Other than that? My mum. She's been through so much in her life and to see her pull through so brilliantly and just shove it in people's faces, yeah. It's great to know you have a mum who's managed to tell people where to go while still knowing when to stop and where her priorities lie.
