Fashion trends you despise?

  • Kathy Ireland purses. I think they're big, bulky, and not worth the obscene amount of money people pay for them.

Famous F t shirts. I thought that trend died out when I was 13. :/

The whole black and white skeleton look, with fingerless gloves and checkered vans.
Famous Stars and Straps is a label though, not a trend. Think It's like saying the Nike tick is a trend... when it's not really, it's just a logo that they're always going to use and people are always going to buy.

Totally agree on the checkered vans. A friend of mine showed me some recently saying he wanted to get them, and I was just like, don't you dare.

I really don't like nude coloured leggings. At a glance it literally looks like you're naked. I've actually said to people before 'you must be freezing' before realising that they're wearing leggings under their ridiculously short shorts/skirts.

  • Girls dying just the bottom layer of their hair some obscenely bright color O_O
Most girls don't pull it off. Very few.

  • -Skinny jeans. At all. They don't look nice and they're bad for you. Like, they harm the circulation in your legs.
-People who wear clothes that are too small. If you're my size and buying an extra small, who are you kidding? Go get a medium.
-When everything you wear is that light, gossamer type fabric, even in the winter. I know it rarely gets below freezing here, but cold is still cold.
-Those really thin scarves. What's the point? They're not even warm.
-Those knit headbands with a giant knit flower or bow on them. You're not skiing.
-Vera Bradley. It looks like my grandmother's couch.

  • The stupid hair feathers.
    No, just... No. Facepalm

  • The glitter covered/sparkly ugg knock offs. They're such a "PAY ATTENTION TO ME FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS" type thing, and they look tacky.

  • Those Lita boots, by Jeffrey Campbell (these, in case you don't know what I'm talking about.) I love Jeffrey Campbell, and some Lita's look cute, but most of the time they look SO clunky and awful and so many girls wear them with maxi skirts and dresses and it just...doesn't look right to me (then again, they don't look right when they're worn with shorts and skirts, either).

Agreed. Once I saw this trend at school, I couldn't hide the look
of disgust on my face. I don't understand why they're trendy at all.

I don't like it when socks are worn with high heels, open toe or otherwise.
It makes no sense at all to me when I see someone wearing these
lace-trimmed thigh high socks with, for example, open toe wedges or stilettos.
It looks ridiculous and reminds me of when I see people wearing socks with slippers.

  • - Those flats with huuge bows, etc on the tip.

    - When people clash patterns.

    - That Lady Gaga shit. I like her and her music, but what the fuck?

    - Clear straps.

    - Those shirts that go about just pass the ass that girls wear as dresses.

    - When people wears pants/skirts that go up to the belly button. I don't mind it when there's a shirt that covers it, but it just bothers me otherwise.

  • Shirts that show one's midriff, especially when girls wear those cropped shirts without a tank top or cami underneath. I don't care how skinny you are, I still don't care to see your stomach.

Vera Bradley and Lilly Pulitzer bags. I just think the patterns are ridiculously gaudy and clash with everything, and the bags themselves are way overpriced. All the girls I go to college with are obsessed with them.

  • Leggings worn with cropped shirts. Leggings are not pants. Especially when you're fat or you have a big butt. I'm sorry, but if you're going to wear leggings at least have a small butt. Or a non-existent one. That works too.

Dip dying. It looks nice on some people, but getting blonde on your very dark brown hair looks ridiculous. Just no.

The rings with the cross on them. I'm not religious or anything, but the thought of almost using religion as a fashion accessory? I just, I don't know. If you're religious that's fine but a lot of people do wear them casually.

  • More of a beauty trend than a fashion trend, but I think designer/department store makeup is waaay overrated. I think it's ridiculous to pay twenty bucks for a tube of lipstick just because it's MAC when you could probably find the same shade at Walmart for five bucks Facepalm

In defense of this, heels tend to hurt. Shifty Although I don't see the point of lace socks. What's wrong with just stockings?

I don't wear many heels, but I have a pair of Oxford heels that kind of require socks.

I do this too. XD When they fit right, they're figure flattering, imo.

  • ♠ floral prints
♠ head to toe animal print, if you have just a piece that's animal print that's cool but when it's every single thing your wearing (same or different) it looks tacky
    ♠ crocs
♠ super flared pants, the ones where the flare pretty much starts at the thigh and it's like wearing a skirt on each leg, ick.
♠ the fake jeggings, you know the ones that are really leggin's with a jean looking material . I have a couple of jeggings and they're really nice, they're just like stretchy skinny jeans.
♠ saggy pants & saggy pants with a belt. it's one thing to wear saggy pants which is tacky, but it's even worse when you wear them with a belt. nobody wants to see your undies, no matter how pretty they are.

I agree with both of these! I don't think that all Vera Bradley or Lily Pulitzer prints are ugly, some are actually rather pretty (I have a VB wallet I love), but I think they're overrated and overpriced.

    Big, swirly monograms on everything
Nude lipstick (or lipstick that just makes your lips look twelve times lighter than your skin tone)
    Fringe
    High-low skirts

  • Those thick black and white striped leggings. I'm sorry, but every time I see a girl walking around in them I feel like they should be a batman villain or something. They just look ridiculous to me. They should have stayed in the nineties.

  • Sheer clothing. A few sheer items are cute, but clothing companies are putting out so many sheer tops, it's like they think we all want our wardrobes to be entirely see-through. Facepalm
