I'm aware that there is already an FF thread, but this is specific to the game and one aspect of it; hopefully no freezing? Smile

Let's get to it: your top 5 favourite characters (1 = ultimate favourite).

    My Favourite Characters
    1. Rinoa Heartilly - I just love her. I think it's because most FF girls are Rikku/Selphie "ditzy" or Yuna/Ashe "dramatic" - a bit token. Rinoa was different. The things she said, the way she dealt with her fate. She had to approach Squall rather than the other way around, I like that.

    2. Fran - I think I'd just want to be in her gang. So mysterious, her big, intimidating appearance, her accent and the little things she says. She has a spiritual side and that of a great warrior, as well as missing the wood and being very natural. She works with Balthier so well.

    3. Balthier (Ffamran Bunansa) - He's just so epic. He has that English, swarve, smoothness to him. He's dry, sarcastic and selfish but he has a sensitive side and a past. He jokes around and makes light of a heavy gravity a lot but also is very thoughful, smart and won't rush in unnecessarily. He's also gorge.

    4. Squall Leonheart - Just epic. He's not typic at all! A lot of the guys can be similar, muscley, outgoing, pursuing the girl - Squall is so to himself, but with reason. He's antisocial with in a way that provokes interest and the way Rinoa opens him up and he clings to her is lovely. In places like the dance scene, you really see how much he cares for her opinion.

    5. Tidus - A lot of people find him annoying, I love him. Because the way he tries to fit in when chucked forward in time, how he jokes considering his fate, he's not stupid but is confident. His daddy issues complicate a seemingly simple character and he cares for Yuna tremendously. Plus he's easy to fall in love with as a player. :D

    1. Auron (FFX) - Does this need an explanation? He's so badass and calm. I like his character and his playability. I always use him.

    2. Aerith Gainsborough (FFVII) - I loved the mystery behind her character. Her final limit break was awesome. It's just sad what happens to her.

    3. Zack Fair (FFVII Franchise) - Wow, where do I start with this character? You never get to see a whole lot about him in VII, but in Crisis Core, you get to explore with his character and I have to say he probably has my favourite qualities in a character. He's so moving and you get really attached to his character throughout the game. I adore this guy.

    4. Edgar Figaro (FFVI) - Ladies man or comic relief? He's quite the useful character and cracks me up from time to time. <3

    5. Kain Highwind (FFIV) - Not relation to Cid, I don't think! I love this guy. He has a lot of inner conflict going on and poor guy has it something bad for Rosa, but he's awesome. What I don't like is how he constantly betrays you - not by his choice though.

So there you have it. Don't know some of these guys? Get the games!

    1. Yuna - Haha, so much drama with Yuna.
    2. Rinoa - Rinoa! So pretty! And I love her and Squall's pairing. The dance scene was one of my favourites.
    3. Serah - I love Serah, and I can't wait until FFXIII-2 as she's a playable character. Plus her and Snow.. <3
    4. Red XIII - Badass, need I say more?
    5. Seymour - Gah, yeah Seymour Guado is one of my favourites. He's just... Seymour. It's easy to make fun of him.

My little brother is a Final Fantasy fanboy to say the least and he'd hate me if he found out but I've definitely picked up on it. ♥
    Favorite characters:

Vincent Valentine - The guy knows how to wield the shit out of his weapons, as well as shape-shifting skills. I love really dark characters in any franchise, personality wise or other.
Sephiroth - Because he's badass. All you have to do is watch Advent Children to see what I mean.
Fran: Because she reminds me of Kate Beckinsale's characters in Underworld and Van Helsing, she's a girl but she can hold her own.
Rude and Reno: Because they're just a couple of goofy motherfuckers.

    1. Noctis. (Upcoming FF15) - Because Noctis proves that Cloud isn't the only spikey haired badass of the franchise.
    2. Seifer (FF8) - Whether he was in your party or fighting your party, Seifer was always so badass.
    3. Sephiroth (FF7) - Obligatory Sephiroth rank.
4.Balthier (FF12) - There aren't many characters that can be just as classy as they are badass. XD
    5. Sazh (FF13) - Easily the most memorable FF13 character. His story was also tugged at the most heartstrings. Definitely a favorite~

    Girls:
    1. Terra and Celeste (FFVI) - I'm a bit old school, but these two are in first place and I absolutely adore them. THeir magic spells come handy, especially during the world of ruin when the monsters are all the much harder to kill. And not to mention Terra's "esper" form and Celeste's "Rune" ability are so badass.
    2. Rydia, Palom. Anna, & Rosa (FFIV)- Rydia's one of the most useful characters in FFIV--especially since she starts off using Summons, White, and Black Magic when you first get her. It's sad that she loses the ability to use White Magic after she grows up, but her Black Spells and Summons become immensely better. Palom is one of the twin mages from FFIV and she is really funny. After Rydia, I like using her for white magic spells. She and her brother, Porom have one of the saddest scenes in the game. Rosa is the earliest White Mage you can get (not counting Tellah and Rydia who can use both Black and White Magic when you first get them). Although I think she's too much of a damsel in distress, I do find her agility in battle to be quite useful. Especially when I need to heal my entire party. Anna is a minor character but her role in the game is still vital. I would have loved to have seen more scenes with her and Tellah, and Edward.
    3. Aerith & Yuffie (FFVII) - I love these two. I always kept Aerith in my party because she can use one of her limit breaks to heal the entire party an she wasn't always a damsel in distress either. Cloud/Aerith pairing were always my favorites. Being that I was in a ninja phase way back when when I played this game, I adored Yuffie and her smart alecky attitude. She was a lot better in Dirge of Cerberus, but I'll never forgive her for stealing my damn Materia in Wutai.
    4. Quistis and Rinoah (FFVII) - Quistis and her whip. She was my girl crush back in the day and not to mention, she was one of my more commonly used characters. Rinoah may have been a bit bratty, but that awkward dancing scene with her and Squall is so cute! And that other scene when she's floating in space with Squall with that pretty song playing in the background... I also love that she uses a dog to fight in battle much like Shadow in FFVI.
    5. Faris (FFV), Lulu, Rikku & Yuna (FFX) - Faris is one of the first characters in the world of FF to crossdress and not to mention she makes an beautiful dancer. She was always a favorite of mine to turn into a Summoner and a thief. In Love Lulu is so bad ass with her black magic. She also knows how to keep Wakka in line. lmfao Rikku is so upbeat and energetic and not to mention her voice actress is one of my favorite voice actresses (Tara Strong). Yuna is adorable and I love how she becomes more outgoing. In Love

    Guys
    1. Edward & Golbeze & Kain & Rubicante - Edward despite being annoying in battle has the more tender scenes in FFIV, after Rosa, Kain, and Cecil. Golbeze is the perfect Star Warsy villain. He's badass. Kain is badass too and not to mention I love using him and he's so relatable with wanting to be with Rosa. His intentions, albeit overall bad, were mostly good. Rubicante is one of the best villains in FF and he's hard to beat too.
    2. Locke & Shadow (FFVI) - these two are bad asses and not to mention, Locke has one of the saddest plotlines in FFVI after Terra. Shadow's just bad ass in general and not to mention, his dream sequences shows him having an interesting past.
    3. Kefka (FFVI) - Ugh one of the best villains of all times. He's so twisted that he'd put Sephiroth to shame.
    4. Sephiroth & Vincent - Gotta love these two. They're both so bad ass and not to mention they were mere experiments and are closely tied to the biggest plot in the history of FF games.
    5. Tidus & Auron - Need I say it? Tidus is a cocky SOB and Auron is a big aloof arrogant bastard. They make for some funny scenes though. And they're one of the more useful characters if you use the Sphere Grid right.

I haven't played Final Fantasy in forever! Cheese It's been way too long. Unfortunately I wasn't too immersed in the games so I only know Final Fantasy X-2, and even then I didn't get very far in that game. I still have it, though! If I could find my PS2 I'd be playing it now. XD

I'd say my favorite character is Paine, then Yuna, and then Rikku. XD There was another character I liked years ago from the most recent FF, but unfortunately I can't remember his name or what he looked like.

They are two of my favourite games of all time honestly! I loved how difficult IV was and VI is just epic on so many levels I can't stand it. I have to say that VI's Kefka was leagues ahead of VII's Sephiroth.

OMGEEE! ANy time I mention those two games to anyone claiming to be hardcore FF gamer, they look at me all weird! Agh! I agree wholeheartedly. I mean, Sephiroth may be in a class all his own and has his own super cool agenda, but I think Kefka definitely goes above and beyond the normal FF villain. File

Have you ever played any of the remakes of FFVI? I grew up playing the original American version and then I think I jumped straight to the GBA version. FF6 is my most absolute favorite game of the whole series. I think it's sad that FFVI never got a DS remake, especially with voice actors like Final Fantasy 4 did. Cry

I had really hoped VI would get the remake treatment. IV's been done so many times. I mean I love IV but I really love VI. The version I played was in the Final Fantasy Anthology collection for the Playstation and I have the GBA one also but I think the cartridge is messed up. On the bright side, I do have the Anthology still. I think I'm gonna replay it now.

Also yes. Sephiroth burns down a town versus Kefka straight up poisoning the water in an entire kingdom like really bro. Insane much?

Agh, I know. I mean Final Fantasy IV is good and all but it does get tiring seeing all the remakes of it and I have all three (four if you count the illegal download of the original Japanese version translated into english by a fan) version of it and I feel that the GBA version didn't really bring anything new to the updates other than an actual bestiary unlike the PS1 and DS version. At least there's always a chance for FFVI to be remade in 3D for the 3DS. Shifty

I know. Kefka just so badass and he's a bit subtle about it sometimes. XD
