I'm honestly quite shocked to find no knowledge of this game whatsoever on this site. Guess I have to change that...

I'll keep this short. Mass Effect is a RPG-shooter video game series based on the decisions you make as Commander Shepard. As said commander, it's up to you and your crew to save the galaxy from being annihilated by ancient sentient machine called the Reapers.

Mass Effect 3 comes out March 6, 2012. March 9 elsewhere, I'm pretty sure.

The series also has several comic books and novels based on the video games. Currently, a movie is in the works based off the first video game. There are rumors of an anime film based off the first game, too.

Anyone else play this game, or am I all alone here?

I'm surprised this thread never really took off. There's quite a few fans of the game here on Mibba, just better hidden. tehe

Anyways, I just started my second Mass Effect Marathon, playing every game in the series (excluding Galaxy and Infiltrator) in a row nonstop (excluding small breaks, I mean, I gotta rest sometime~) Oy, my mother thinks Mark Vanderloo, aka "Default Shepard" is hot. Rolling Eyes

Everyone loves Garrus, lol. I mean, he IS Batman(of Mass Effect) after all.

I'd go gay for Garrus, sure xD.

Sadly I have only played the default story lines of any of the games because I have not bought any DLC (because I kinda have a bias against DLC aka I'm dumb and will change that soon)

The original Mass Effect was my favorite one. Story wise. I loved it and have played it maybe six times now.

ME2 gave me more of a combat experience and really improved on things like that but I didn't enjoy the story as much. Don't get me wrong it was amazing there is just something about ME1 that really gets me.

ME3, in my opinion, did a fantastic job actually changing enough things in the game and adding enough new content to make it a great title that didn't just feel like you were playing the same thing. The multiplier was awesome (best with a controller <--- most FPSs are sadly enough) Despite all the bitching from the ME community on the ending of this title I was happy enough (actually, I am going to have to play two more times before I can really say what I think about this).

I have a thing for Tali but I am not sure what that is about (mostly because I don't understand my emotions ever. I also had a thing for Kelly but I think that was mostly a red-head thing I have going). Garrus and Grunt are my favorite characters of all time. Mordin and Joker are next on the line right before EDI and Jack (the former I am kinda sad didn't get more face time in the third title).

Totally recognizing this thread has been dead for ages, but I'll risk it anyway: Anyone play Andromeda? Any thoughts/opinions?

    @ clint barton.
I had really high hopes for Andromeda, but ultimately it didn't captivate me nearly as much as the original trilogy did. I really wanted to enjoy it as a stand alone game, but as it stands I have no motivation to complete the story. Without even going into how EA didn't spend enough time polishing the game, it felt like there was way too much to do. The way I played Mass Effect would be that I would get as many side quests as possible done before heading into the next main quest, but in Andromeda it just became a chore because every side quest I finished made three more pop up--it was hard to keep track of what was really important. I still love my Ryder and I still would like to pursue Vetra, but this game will just have to sit on the back burner for me until I can force myself to pick it up again.

All that aside, I just wanted to mention that for Christmas, a friend of mine who also shares my love for Mass Effect got me this shirt that I absolutely love. Mr. Green
