I looked and I didn't find anything. If it's similar then delete or lock it. Simple stuff. File

I've be working like this since I was sixteen because I haven't been able to get hired. It's pretty much having a job where you can only be paid cash and you don't collect taxes for it. If an "employer" were to write you a check for working for them like this odds are they could get into some serious legal trouble.

I'm not talking about getting paid to mow peoples yard or babysit their children either. I'm talking about working in an actual business like a grocery store or a greenhouse or a restaurant. So, have any of you worked like this before?

I've worked in a greenhouse, a library, and a coal store like this before. Someone decided to snitch each time which is why I had to stop. Luckily nothing legal action was taken because no officials came to investigate. Now I just clean peoples homes and help my mothers new husband clean his Trucking Company building.

I usually make between $20 and $40 too. So, am I the only one on site who has done this or is there more of you? Have you ever considered it? Discuss and stuff I guess.

Done it a shit ton of times. If it gives me an easy way to make money then I'll do it again. Government freaks have nothing on my funds.

I did it but at a Chinese but one of the orders went missing and they fired me without giving me a chance to explain what had happened. I'd do it again though, just not there.

I did this at a restaurant in ND, but only until I was legally old enough to get a paycheck. after that, I filled out all the paperwork and did things the legal way and started getting actual paychecks with pay stubs and stuff. But I started working there when I was 14 and I didn't legally get paid for the first time until I was 16, so...yeah. I've worked under the table.

I've been working this way for my grandpa for nearly a decade... Apparently it's legal as long as you aren't paid more than $500 in a year (at least in Michigan; though it might have something to do with me being a relative, too)... Though I've gone WAYYY over that in that last few years.

But yeah... making $8 UNTAXED an hour is actually pretty decent, these days. Only problem is that only a fraction of the hours I work are considered "billable"...

Yep, my first job was like this. It was this shitty pizza place with a liquor store on the other side. My boss paid us at the end of every night (I usually made like, 26 for five hours which is ridiculous) and we didn't make tips.

It was honestly awful. I had to clean the walk in one day and before I started my boss said, "Now, you're gonna see some black stuff on the walls. It's just mold, don't worry about it." She'd have us stock the liquor side too, and almost all the teenagers were under 18. We pretty much had to do the job of four people, cooking, cleaning, bussing, and taking orders. It sucked. Very, very illegal. -___-

I got hired as a waitress at a pretty nice restaurant a few months ago quite luckily, and I make way more money for way less work.

I live in Australia where cash in hand is supposed to be taxed, I worked in a nursery when I was younger and got CIH, now work for my stepfathers company with CIH, and work as a waitress CIH, though it's not taxed. I don't bother worrying though because here you have to earn over 6000 before the tax actually affects you and I don't earn anywhere near that much. This is just a tiny side job that's going to get me through uni.

I have never done it but my boyfriend is doing it currently. There is a guy who comes down to Texas every now and then to do non destructive testing on metal and stuff (I don't know what they do hahaha) and these guys get paid tonnnssss of money to do this. This guy pays my boyfriend to help him out. First time he paid him 20 dollars an hour, he ended up making 2000 dollars in a week and a half or so.

He's back in town again for two weeks and paying my boyfriend 25 dollars and hour so we're expecting another 2-3000 dollars from this. It's pretty awesome.

This guy pays him for extra help so he can leave Texas sooner than if he were to do it by himself. He works in Illinois I think, but his job requires him to travel down here often.

I'm technically working under the table for a small motel. My parents got permission from their boss to hire me as an assistant manager for when they needed short notice coverage. I'm not on payroll and my boss doesn't have me as an official employee, my parents pay me by cash. I'm only paid $5 an hour and I only work about 2 or 3 hours every night, so it's not like it's exactly a lot of money I'm getting. I don't get any benefits from my work since I'm not an official employee or anything, which kind of sucks because I could at least use the health benefits every other worker at this motel gets.

Personally, from my experience here, I wouldn't work under the table ever again and I've been working on getting a real (and legal) job. Working under the table in my experience hasn't gotten me much money and takes away the benefits I could have if I was working for this motel legally. It really just doesn't seem too worth it.

I don't personally work under the table at the moment, but at the Chinese place I work at all of the cooks and the dishwasher have half of their pay come under the table. The dishwasher works from 10:30 am to about 9 pm, and makes a gimpy paycheck, and then the bulk comes in cash (about $800 or so). I used to be the dish washer, but I switched to doing other things at work because I hate dishes more than anything in the whole entire world.
