I think the first season is the best so far. I'm not really a big fan of The Coven.

Season 1 was pretty good. Season 2 was just freaky as crap. And Season 3 is pretty interesting to me. Probably just because I like the topic of witches and New Orleans.

Murder house is my favorite season. Asylum was pretty good too but I thought Coven was kind of a disappointment. I enjoyed it but I just felt like there were a lot of plot holes and unanswered questions. I'm excited for season 4, I'm sure I'll like it but my expectations aren't that high.

Asylum was creepy. Murder house was really good. Coven seemed a bit rush, but was still good. Freakshow (I believe they are calling it) looks to be really good and creepy also.

    Spoilers are in white!
I started watching American Horror Story a few months ago and I've finally caught up, somewhat. It's my first "real" horror show to watch, and god damn I found Murder House a little scary. Especially the Piggy Piggy episode. I couldn't watch most of that one. Whoops. I love the characters in it, especially Moira and her two selves. tehe The ghosts amused me, and I wish Nora Montgomery had been in it more. I also didn't like the ending. Open endings bug me so much.
Asylum is by far my favourite season, I love the creepiness of it and the "can't look but can't turn away either" scenes in it. I found Spilt Milk extremely disturbing though, and felt there was quite a few unfinished storylines, especially the one concerning the sex addict that Dr Arden experimented on -- I know she was found wandering towards kids on a playground, but was that really it? While I loved the ending, it's just those untied strings that really let me down. Sad
Coven was definitely a bit of a let down after it, especially in terms of scariness. I found it to be pretty teen-series petty drama, but I love magic and it totally made up for it. In Love Except for Zoe Benson's death, that pissed me off. Cheese Why?! I loved the mystery surrounding who would be the next Supreme, and the finale was just a whole lot of "wow". I love Misty Day and Myrtle Snow, although I really didn't like the appearance of Stevie Nicks. I found it a little unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I love Fleetwood Mac, but I just didn't see the appeal after Fiona buttering Misty up.

I really like the fact that it's an anthropology, and the change of characters doesn't really bother me all too much as I feel they tie up the seasons rather nicely (for the most part).

I only have one question: I'm considering watching Freak Show but how scary is it really? I've heard it's the most disturbing season to date, but I'm not really sure if it can top Asylum. Think

In my opinion and this goes against many others opinions, Freak Show is the best season. I believe that it had the same shock factor as Asylum. It's really scary in terms of you never know what lurks around the corner. All the fake out sequences drive me wild.

It also has lots of drama and it's a bit humouristic in some senses. Some say it lacks a plot but that's bullshit. Sure it had a lot of side stories... but it's a freak show.

Anyways loved it and very much enjoyed the musical performances.
