Comics Marvel vs DC

Any other counterpoints?

Marvel with a bullet at the moment. Flashpoint is a hot mess that scrapped half my favorite characters or ruined them and my favorite relationships, and a lot of it is completely nonsensical to me. Wait, these things do not line up! . . . and you're not going to explain them or acknowledge it? BAH.

As can be seen from Justice League #6 as well as the FCBD issue which introduces the Trinity of Sin and there are smaller references/allusions running through other titles such as Batman and Robin where Bruce changes his entire mission based on what he learnt about Thomas and Martha in their alternate lives.

I'd also say its fair to say Booster and Flash are both going to bring it up relatively soon.

DC has the better track record for the most well known and the "best of all time comics" like

Marvel has Iron Man, Thor, Spiderman, Captain America, The Hulk, Fantastic Four. I have basically grew up with Marvel and I love the Avengers comics.

I've only recently started getting into comics. Never realized how much I'd love to read about these superheros. So far I've only read a random Supergirl comic at Barnes and Noble. xD

Oh the topic. Hmm... It's a toss up. Marvel does indeed have the Avengers. But DC has Teen Titans and Batman, and the various Robins. I like them both really. Marvel due to their heroes being a bit more realistic, aside from Thor, who's a giant pussy, excuse my French. DC because as I research them I find the Teen Titans more amazing than the cartoon portrayed them as. Also, Batman's villains are some of the best, especially Bane, Joker, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, Two-Face, and need I go on. He just has some of the most dynamic villains as well as heroes associated with him; The Bat Family. Jason Todd, despite popular opinion, is my favorite Robin.

Oh and I almost forgot to mention the amazing, Deadpool. The man who can't die, makes everyone laugh, has his own game coming out, and has one of the funniest/ coolest cosplayers ever.

I've never really cared much for the Marvel characters. DC has always been where my heart lies.

I'm not a hardcore Batman reader, but I have quite a few comics and I've seen the films. And the old TV series is absolute gold. Batman and Robin is my main favourite, which brings me over to Teen Titans and the Justice League.

As a child I watched Teen Titans. As a teenager I buy the comics and nerd out over the amazing characters and the fact that my head is now filled with the most useless trivia that nobody cares about or wants to listen to me rambling on about. Admittedly the multiverse confuses the hell out of me, but it's a good concept that means the comics could have unlimited numbers of characters, and, thankfully, bring lots back from the dead. I also think Deathstroke is one of my favourite villains ever. As for Justice League, I'm not a huge fan, but being a huge Teen Titans fan just leads you straight over there since the two are connected.

I'd like to get more into Marvel, but I just wouldn't know where to start. I also wouldn't have enough money to collect Marvel and DC comics, since once I start something I never stop.

Just try to get some of the best old stories. Read Daredevil Born Again. It is one of the best comics of all time. Also Mark Waids current run on daredevil is fantastic.

Definitely DC. I love the Story's, the hero's, the villeins, the worlds. just everything. I'm not a big fan of marvel cause i think al ot of it is a bit cheesy

While I love DC, mainly because of Batman (his comic has the best villains of all time!), I really love Marvel.

Even though DC has a lot of the better known, "classic" heroes, I find I like Marvel's characters better and find them to be more relatable and realistic (personality wise).

I think DC is plagued by perfect men and uninteresting female characters that are practically interchangeable.

That may be because I dislike Superman (too overpowered for me).

I love DC. Marvel is great on its own and all, but I'm a DC fangirl all the way.

First of all - like others have mentioned - I am a big, big fan of Batman! Like, big! I didn't realise I liked Batman so much until my boyfriend and his best friend called me and asked me the classic Batman vs. Superman question.

Besides the one vigilante, DC has the well written stories. Yes, sometimes the stories or the roles of the heroes are over-played or clearly the works of fiction, but that's what captures me the most! The creativity of the writers and artists to create this world that is beautifully chaotic is capturing! The protagonists are built so well on fundamentals that attest to their heroic character and the villians/antagonists are amazingly... twisted. Some of the villians you can't help but love because they are so evil!

And DC creates the best spin-offs. Like, not just other series with the same hero in a different era or whatever. I'm talking about, sidekick becomes their own hero (and I'm talking about Robin into Nightwing) and have their own kick-ass stories!

Marvel, I just find a little dull. And sometimes poorly written. I own many comics from when I was a kid and I buy some now still and I still find the DC ones much better written than the Marvel comics. DC Comics for sure!

Oh, this is awkward. I'm definitely a Marvel fan, to the extent that I tend to avoid everything DC-related.

I mean, I just find Marvel's characters to be so much better than DC's, especially in terms of realism (ha! funny to hear that when we're talking about superheros and whatnot, huh?) and relatability. I like their personalities more, and I know that's completely a personal preference, but I also think that it's just really irritating how 'invincible' DC heros tend to be. I mean, really, every time I even think about Superman I automatically think that if that character had been written by a new author on here, everyone would scream Mary Sue... or whatever the male equivalent of that is.

I think DC tends to have better villains for sure, don't get me wrong, but I'm just old-fashioned and think that the heros are what should make the story, not the villains.

And then if we wanted to bring in movies into the mix, I have to admit Marvel doesn't really disappoint me, whereas DC usually does. But obviously the comics themselves are what we're talking about, I assume, so this can easily be ignored.

I'm super biased, I know, but that's my opinion. /shug. I've always been a huge Hawkeye nerd since I was a kid and I literally have all of the comics he's in so that's probably where my love of Marvel originally comes from, but as I've grown up I've actually branched out, and I still much prefer Marvel to DC.

I would say I'm torn. I love the grittiness in most DC comics and more importantly the Bat family, but I also love the blend of color (humor, excitement, playfulness) and darkness in Marvel comics. I think even by comparing both companies it's hard to just hand a title of awesomeness to one. It's all about what style of stories and characters you prefer. Though I have to admit, I started out as a DC fan but over the years Marvel has grown on me greatly. Now I just divide my love between the two.
