It's as yous said, your new partner is very well equipped. Now I share your pain here, because I'm in the same situation. The basics apply, do not do anything with him until you're well and truly wet enough to do so, you can also apply lubes to make things easier, and get him to take it slowly for a minute or two.

You can spot from an accidental tear. Fissure tears. My boyfriend has the same "gift" and I needed to buy some lube to use. Do that and you should be pretty good. A little bit goes a long way.

I usually can remember at least one dream per night in which I was lucid. Though I wouldn't say it's something I've really "tried" - it's more just a natural occurrence, rather than something I've worked at.
