So many people use Netflix, a streaming site which allows you access to movies and TV shows for a price. (You can also get DVDs for an additional fee.)

I thought it would be nice to have a Netflix thread to recommend movies or ask for recommendations. We can also talk about our faves, upcoming releases, and what we actually use the Instant Queue for. XD

Howl is probably my favorite Netflix find, though we were super stoked when we finished watching Season 4 of Weeds and Season 5 just happened to pop up.

Dawson's Creek just got added this month.

This is my favorite site for upcoming Netflix instant titles.

Next month it looks like I'll have The Faculty, Shakespeare in Love, She's All That, The Cider House Rules, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, a documentary on absinthe, The Rum Diary, Thor, a new documentary on Charles Manson, and Hellboy. Great haul.

I already added it to my mom's DVD queue XD

Netflix is my true love, I'm always finding things that I never would have heard of or watched otherwise. Lately my biggest thing is "The Unusuals" which ran for one season and starred Jeremy Renner and Amber Tamblyn -- it's one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Plus Netflix has Angel and Buffy, all the seasons, how can you go wrong with that?

I fall asleep to Ancient Aliens on there. I think I've seen every episode at least eight times, if not more.

I found the movie Howl on there, starring James Franco, and it really is one of the greatest movies I'd never heard of. It's about a poem that was put on trial for obscenity and it's so beautifully done. I rec the shit outta that.

I recommend Jim Henson's The Storyteller. There's two--the regular (folk tales) and the Greek myths version. Both are good, but I do prefer the myths. (Michael Gambon/new Dumbledore hosts that one.)

Right now I'm watching every episode of Toddlers & Tiaras that Netflix has to offer and watching LOST for the 80th time. lmfao

I'm looking for more TV show recommendations that are on instant play? I have an entirely boring summer set up for me and need to get my mind off of things, so a show that's deeply routed in characters would be nice.

I've had How I Met Your Mother recommended to me -has anyone watched that?

    @ cassie?
I have. It's not my favorite show, but I'm soooooooo picky with TV shows. It's actually really good though and I watch it my siblings' place 'cause they love it.

    I enjoy:
    - American Dad
    - Ancient Aliens
    - Man vs. Food
    - The Best Food Ever
    - Ancient Inventions
    - Jim Henson's The Storyteller (there's Greek Myths and fairy tales)
    - X-Files (This one is, like, 200 episodes.)

I love Netflix, and I'm glad I got it! I was so happy when Melancholia was put on instant streaming because that was a movie I really wanted to see. I really enjoyed it... though I could see how other people might not like it.

More recently I've watched She's All That, Cruel Intentions, Thor, and The Caller. I enjoyed each of these as well.

For TV shows, I was watching Nip/Tuck, but I got impatient and went on Wikipedia and read about what happens. I will eventually go back to watching it though because I do like it. I also love Parks and Recreation, but I had only seen part of season 3 and was watching Season 4, so I was able to watch season 1, 2, and the other half 3.

Netflix is just so handy. I have so many movies in my Instant Queue that I want to watch, which hopefully I'll get around to doing.

Netflix kinda started to suck when it lost it's deal with Starz. I need an external hard drive so I can start downloading movies instead.

They don't have Star Wars, Hitchhiker's Guide, Game of Thrones, or Thor. Why bother using it at that point. XD

I'm currently watching Sons of Anarchy, and I find the show quite entertaining.

Also, Orange Is The New Black. OITNB is fantastic.

I currently only use my account to watch all 18 seasons of Top Gear. My cousin has my account info so he uses it to watch a bunch of movies, which makes me feel better because at least someone's using it.

Anyway, here are some shows on there I'd recommend:
    - Freaks and Geeks
    - Undeclared
    - Fringe
    - Psych
    - The Killing
    - Awake
    - Eureka
    - Arrested Development
    - Lie to Me
    - Warehouse 13
    - The Munsters

    And some movies/documentaries:
    - John Dies at the End
    - Cropsey
    - In Bruges
    - Blue is the Warmest Color
    - Amelie
    - Blue Valentine
    - C.R.A.Z.Y.
    - Good Neighbors
    - Frances Ha
    - The Artist
    - Death of a Salesman
    - Adam's Apples
    - Fargo
    - Four Rooms

I use Netflix way too often, and I'm thankful that my dad continues to pay for it even though I could if I really wanted to. XD

I went years refusing to do the whole "Netflix" thing.

    I don't know why I ever resisted.

I LOVE it. We have 3 Smart TV's in our house, so we just stream right through the app and its so amazing. Happy face I could spend every single day of my life just watching documentaries.

As far as recc's go, I highly suggest 65_ResRoses. It's about Eva Markvoort, who lives with Cystic Fibrosis and it is just...phenomenal. I do cry every single time I watch it, though.
