What are you trying to code / make? I'm sure I can help you understand.

@sheepcat I feel so dumb but i really don't get it. The FAQ forum beginning mentions that you need to put codes to make pictures or layouts work, but I have no idea where you are meant to put them in. I want to create a couple of layouts (poem, story and blog ones) and I just have no idea how.

Check out Creating a Custom Story Layout article and then if you have any problems just send me a PM. It details what you have to do to create a layout and such.

i just made a layout, but i don't know how to add it to my story? help?!

Go into your stories, and edit the story you want to add it to. There'll be an option that says "layout" and you can choose it from there.
Here's an excerpt from the Knowledge Base explaining it.

Knowledge Base:

Layouts: Every story posted to Mibba has its own layout. Whether it be one of Mibba’s pre-made layouts (created and submitted by Mibbians), Mibba’s default layout, or a layout custom made by the author. If you have created a custom layout and you’d like to use it for your story, select the layout title from the drop-down list provided.

If you’d like to use a pre-made layout, you must first post your story and then add a pre-made layout here, by clicking the “use” button next to the layout you’d like applied. If you want to use Mibba’s default layout, leave this section blank.

The only thing I can suggest then is possibly changing your browser, or checking for any updates for Chrome.
And if push comes to shove, maybe popping in a request will have to do the trick for now.

I remember a while ago reading someone had a problem like this and they were only getting 3 boxes because they hadn't made a story/blog to have the other boxes available to them, if that makes sense. There was no content to base it on. Like, if you're trying to create a layout for a story then you have to create a story first, maybe.
You could try that, as I see you have no blogs or poems so if it's a layout for one of them, that could be the issue.

Does anyone know how to center-align the top menu? I've got it formatted, but I can't align it.

On a custom profile? It's been years since I actually properly coded anything (I literally just change colours and pictures in the one I have -- coded it about 4 years ago now) but I think the line of code at the beginning that aligns the top menu is background-position:center; in the body formatting. I may be wrong through so if I am, then I apologise.

EDIT: Actually, that could mess up the rest of the formatting if you're using any other alignment for the rest of your layout because I think that just aligns everything else. I'm so rusty on my profile-making skills.

margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
text-align: center;

Tried that, I think. If you give my page a look you'd see I just changed textspacing to make it sort of fit

Under which style tag? The ones in the layout thread have html body div #menu and #options with a lot of weird tags.

EDIT: Nevermind, it worked! I tried the margin tags. Thanks Sean!

I feel so stupid since Ive been on Mibba for forever but is there a way to search story layouts by tag? I cant figure out how to search them at all.

I don't think there is a search option for layouts, unfortunately.
