I have less bad customers than awesome ones. Yesterday a lady bought me a soda because I wasn't allowed to take the two dollars she wanted to give me. I've been given movie tickets and I received a coupon from a guy I made a sign for.

I work in the print industry and most of the time people tend to be very grateful for what we can do in a small amount of time. The biggest compliment is when I've designed something for a customer and they can't stop gushing over my design. ^_^

When I used to work as a waitress at a pub, there was an elderly lady who once won $3000 on the poker machines and gave me $50 of her winnings because she said I was her favourite girl there and that I was always so nice when I served her, unlike the other waitresses. She'd also usually tip me a couple of extra dollars (generally, we don't usually tip here in Australia) each time she dined in the restaurant and said to keep it for myself instead of putting it into the tip jar.

In the supermarket I used to work for, at 7.30PM each night an elderly man would come in and buy the reduced bread and spark up a conversation with me. What I loved was how each time he came in, he would always remember what we had talked about the night before, even if I didn't. He was adorable, and I was very sad to leave.

In my current job, I work on a desk for Trade building supplies, so I try and build up a rapport as much as possible. We have a regular customer, Jamie, who always comes in for a chat. He reckons I'm the most polite and nicest staff member there is, and we now have a 'thing' where we say nothing but hug each other. He's such a laugh and can always brighten up my day.

A few weeks ago I printed spice labels for a woman who works at a spice company, who brought me in a can of spices the next day. Another lady tipped me 15 and I took it without telling my boss. She gave it to me in a card.

And I love my regular customers who always get the same type of printing done and are never pushy or bossy. I love that people understand if they walk in, they may not be the first job, but I will get to it just as quickly as I possibly can.

I work as a waitress in a small restaurant, and I usually had my breaks some time between 12:00 - 1:00pm, and occasionally an elderly couple would come in and I'd have a little conversation with them both. They were the sweetest couple ever.

But one day at work, after not seeing the couple for a few months I saw the old man walk in on his own. When I served him I asked him where his wife was, and he told me that she had passed away in hospital the month before. It broke my heart to see him so upset.

Ever since then, he started coming on his own. If he came on a day where I was working I'd spend my break talking to him. He's probably the nicest man I know.

There's this one guy who regularly comes into the grocery store I work at, and he's there every Tuesday night. He basically told me that I'm his favourite who works in the deli because I never BS him on whether or not the food is good - I actually give my opinion on certain items rather than just so "Oh, everything's good here!" Some times he won't even need anything from the deli, but he'll still come and say hello to me anyway and have a little chat, or we just joke around. It's good fun.

Plus there's another guy who, whenever he's walking past the deli, will call out to me, "Hello, deli lady!" He's an elderly guy, so it's really adorable when he does it. xD

I work in telemarketing, and one of my most memorable calls ever was this 75-year-old lady who told me she does fifty push-ups a day. I don't even remember how that came up. I told her I was 21 at the time and couldn't do more than five, and she told me, "Neither could I, when I started. But my husband got really ill and I didn't want to put him in a nursing home because he'd hate it and I would have missed him, so I started doing five a day and worked my way up so that I would be strong enough to help him in and out of bed and pick him up if he fell." I thought it was the sweetest, most awesome thing.

Also, shout-out to the 50-something year old male pastor I called a few weeks ago who had a One Direction ringback tone.

I've had customers where they get annoyed when my store doesn't have certain items in stock. It's like, it's not my fault is it? They get so much worse when it's nearer Christmas time and everyone's panic buying on Christmas eve and they throw a hissy fit when we don't have what they want. It's the day before, what do you expect? lmfao Or when they don't even say thank you when I help them, like I don't deserve their gratitude because I'm just a customer assistant and I'm 'under them' in some way, you know?

But there's this lovely Greek lady who comes in every week though and she always stands and chats for me for a while before she does her shopping and it's just so nice to have customers like that that don't ignore you. In Love Took me such a long time to learn her name because we'd been chatting for ages and it felt weird to just ask after all that time and yeah. tehe I'm glad I do now though.

This older lady who is the Impress grandma. She told me she'd follow me to whatever job I went to and write me a reference letter. She's incredibly nice and when I got sick last week and she was there she was so concerned about me. And when I called her today about her order, she was so happy I was better.

When I worked at Subway over the summer, all of the regulars were really awesome. They'd chat with us while we made their subs, and sometimes this one guy would even buy cookies for whoever was working at the time. tehe

One guy actually gave me and my manager each five-dollar tips, which was the biggest tip I'd gotten working there. I spent it on gummy worms later that night. XD

I worked at Kohl's over the summer, and everyone was surprisingly tolerant, especially considering I was new and much slower at checking out customers than most of the other cashiers (at first). There was one day that was particularly stressful and one customer got really angry and yelled at me over something that wasn't my fault, and the customer after her was so sweet and understanding, even though she had to wait in line for like 20 minutes while I sorted out the mess before her. It's situations like that that give me hope.

I have a customer who comes in usually at least once a week. She's a kindergarten teacher so she's always coming in to get supplies for her students to use. She's been coming to our store so long that she knows most of our policies... Including the one that says we cannot accept tips from customers. Our corporate policy is that we can't. If someone tries to tip us or offers to let us keep their change, we have to refuse it and insist that they keep it. We'll get into a lot of trouble if we are caught accepting tips from the customers.

So the lady knows this policy but she also claims that she's found a 'loophole' in the policy. She says that the policy is only referring to money, so she gives me food as a 'tip' haha. x) Every time she gets me as a cashier, she either gives me candy or something like an energy bar. She's one of my favorite customers. I always love it when she comes into the love. Not just because she gives me free food but also because she's such a sweet person.

My managers have seen her giving me this stuff and haven't ever said anything to me, so I assume they don't mind it.

I use to work at a hospital, where sometimes patients would like you a lot and want to give you money, but we can't accept money from the customers so they just give it to the gift shop or buy you lunch or something. They are such sweet people.

There was this man who was super nice to me when I was working the register one day. He introduced himself to me, and was just one of the nicest customers I've ever encountered. Just talking to him made me happy the rest of the day.

I love the customers who see me being heckled by rude people and jump to my defense because they know I can't say anything without being fired. It's nice to know that I've got people on my side sometimes.
