Comment Swap

Do you want (more) comments for your stories? There is a way to get them now. The only thing you have to do is comment on other stories. For each comment you send, you'll get one back.

Visit this page:

http://www.mibba.com/Stories/CommentSwap/

...select a story you want to receive comments for and then select the type of stories you want to read and comment on. Mibba will find a story for you. You probably won't have to wait too long, it depends on the number of users using this feature and the type of stories you select.

After you post your comment, you can go back and ask for another comment.

RULES
1. You have to post real comments that prove you read the story.
2. Comments have to be 200+ characters long (not words). That's not too long so it shouldn't be a problem.

Will the comments be regulated (i.e., will there be something that won't allow a person to post a comment unless they have 200+ words?)

Characters, not words. And yes, only 200+ character comments will let you use this system again.

And it's not a question, but. On the page where it gives me a story to comment on, there's a typo. It says "Story you need to read an comment on is:" and the an just needs to be and. I just wanted to let you know!

I'm going through it now. And I just got a story that if I were in a story editor right now, would have been reported in two seconds. What will be the protocol if the story you get is not a story or is written in block form with no paragraphs?

You can still comment on that story and tell the author what they need to do to fix it.

So are the rules from the comment swap similar to threads in that the comment posted must demonstrate that the reader did, in fact, read the piece and did not simply comment on the summary and layout?

We can't really force people to read everything, but their comments can always be reported if they're not relevant.

You can still use them, but this is the "official" way of doing it.

Is there a place that says how many characters you have used?

This is an awesome idea! And works so well. I only wish that there were maybe more options for the type of stories you want to read. Like genre or short vs long, etc. Regardless, I will definitely be using this new feature!

We'll add more options once we get more people to use this feature.

I'd really like to be able to select oneshot versus chaptered story.

You have to submit another story (or submit the same story - whichever story you want to be commented).
