    @ earn your feathers .
Your story is in the queue. When you submit it, you read a story immediately. Another person may have that story in their queue waiting for them to comment it, but they're out right now so they're not seeing it. But you can submit to get new comments everytime you submit one. You can review three stories in, what, half an hour, maybe an hour? But your stories are still in the queue.

Basically, give it a day or two, not just a few hours.

I quite like this feature and have been using it a lot as I always find myself reading the same kind of stories, so instead of using it to gain feedback on my own stories, (though it's always welcomed!) I've found it really useful to broaden the genre of fiction I read.

Overall, I think it's a great addition to the site! Smile

I like this feature. I used to do quite a lot of comment swaps on the old mibba through the journal section. But now, this is amazing. I'd used this twice and I can see myself using this feature regularly in the future. ^_^

I like this feature. But, the thing is, the story I asked to get a comment on has only about five chapters. And this feature is giving me stories with 20 or 42 chapters. And don't get me wrong, I do love this feature. And it did pick a really good story. But it's a little intimidating to get a story with so many chapters.

You don't have to read all chapters. I never do. Your comment is still valid even if you simply read the first chapter and give a proper comment on that. And further down the line there'll be an option to define what type of stories you want (oneshot, chaptered, etc).

That's probably an error. As far as I can see, there isn't a time-limit on when you have to comment the story, it's just that you can't submit another story until you comment on the one you're sent.

I had a story to comment sent to me last night and I just did it this morning - so let's say that was about ten/twelve hours between getting the story and posting the comment.

Oh okay, I hope so. Because I was really enjoying it. I was getting comments on my Damon salvatore stories =) I wrote Dujo about it and hopefully he will be able to fix it.

If we don't want to read the story we are given, can we go back and get a different one, or do we have to read and comment on that one before getting a new story?

I used this feature and got some pretty good feedback, but I've had one where the person in question has just put:

    [edited by admin]

Which isn't something I find useful at all, especially with the excessive puncuation to fill the characters. I'd like to know if this is actually for valuable comments, or just any old comment, because I can see things like this happning in bulk the minute this gets really popular.

If you find/receive a comment that doesn't hold to the standard of the swap, report it. (Either via 'report' button on the comment, or by PMing a story editor.)

*Also, please don't repost someone's comment here. It's considered public ridicule.

I was wondering if you could add a section so we know what kind of relationship is in the story if there is one. Like Slash, Femmeslash, Bisexual, transgendered, hetro, etc. Because not everyone reads those kind of stories.

    for dru's sins.:
I don't think we should be able to select only one type of fanfiction to read (A7X or Avengers or whatnot). I think we should be encouraged to broaden our horizons. After all, who does it hurt to read a story you might not otherwise read.
I feel like we should be able to select what band or whatever other fiction we want to read. There are some bands that I can't read about for personal reasons, and I feel just as strongly about being forced to read hardcore rape, incest, or daddy/daughter, amongst other things. I think we should be able to refine our search a bit more, especially in the fan fiction area, since there's so much of it out there and if you read it it's because you're a fan, not a stranger to the person/people the story is about. I think it will encourage better comments too. I know for certain that if I know the person the fiction is about, I can leave a better comment that doesn't just simply involve grammar and spelling, because I know more about the character, setting, etc.

Yes, the point could be to broaden your horizons, I understand that and partially agree with it, but you shouldn't be forced to read something or to leave a bad comment because you really don't want to read it. I too think that there should be some way to 'reject' the story, in case there are personal reasons that might interfere. Though, I'm sure this would be reduced dramatically by being able to uncheck a certain box/tag (for example, rape, incest, A7X, Avengers).

    ~

Otherwise, idea sounds great, and I'm sure I'll be using it a lot in the near future :D

You have to comment the one you're given before you're able to submit your own story again.

I just commented on the same story I was supposed to and the notification never went away and it still says that I need to comment.
