When I tell most people that chess is my favorite sport, they roll their eyes and say, "Chess isn't a sport, you don't do anything!"

    Obviously they've never played chess.

Most chess players would agree that it is more than just a game that nerds play; it is very taxing mentally.

And, if you still doubt that it's not a sport, chess is an Olympic sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee.

Chess to me is very relaxing. I find it challenging (depending on my opponent) and love to make great use of my pieces. My favorite piece besides the queen (it wins by default) is my rook. Just learned an awsome way to use pawns to a greater extent at my chess club. It is actually intense, it's like a class in itself.

I usually use knights. They're really useful and hard to capture. I usually don't move my queen unless I have to. It's interesting to see what pieces people use most (I know someone who uses bishops all the time, another person who attacks with the queen right away, and yet another who uses mainly pawns).

I wish my school had a chess club; we have enough people playing chess.
