Here I am

Kayla finally calmed down and let Sarah give her the pills. Taking them, she laid down and fell asleep almost instantly. "She should be asleep for about ten hours which she needs," Sarah said, looking at her adoptive dad. "You should go talk to mom," she said as she left.

Hailey was with the kids, helping them with homework.

Deric looked at her thoughtfully for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, I want this place to be a home for kids like us," he said honestly as he began getting stuff ready. "And that is going to be a lot of work which I am okay with," he said with a smile.

Anna looked at him for a moment. "You are staring at me," she said with a teasing tone in her voice as she raised an eyebrow at him.

Tyler smiled. "Thank you Sarah. You make me proud." He said and kissed herhead going to find Hailey. He came up bbehind her kissing her shoulder. Chey babe can we talk?" Tyler took her hand and bit his lip. He rewlly hoped they could talk it out without fighting. This house had enough problems without them getting into it too.

"Kids? Deric how old do you think I am?" She asked wondering his age. Emma bit her lip. She had been through way to much to consider herself a kid. Emma had taken more than most adults could handle.

Matt laughed. "Damn straight I am. Can you blame me?" Matt ran his thumb over her knuckles. He winked.

Hailey looked up when he came in and nodded. She followed him out into the hallway out of earshot of the kids but still within eyesight so she could make sure they didn't do anything. "Ty, I'm not mad. I was surprised but I understand that she was scared and she needed you," she said as she looked up at him.

Deric looked at her for a moment. "I didn't mean it like that," he said with a sigh as he ran his fingers through his hair. "I'm 19. I meant kids as a reference to how we were when we were kids...or at least how I was," he said as he continued to get stuff together.

Anna blushed slightly and looked down at their joined hands. She bit her lip gently and thought for a moment as she thought. "I don't know what to think," she said honestly.

Tyler smiled softly and pulled her close. "I'm glad baby because though she needs me for a second I would drop everything to take care of you. I love you Hailey. I need to go out for an hour. I know its a pain but I swear it is worth it. Is there anything I should get while in town?" He asked. Tyler was glad they wheee okay. He kissed her head.

Emma thought of her childhood with her mom. After all the bunnies died was when things went wrong. It was a pretty good childhood considering though. "What was your cildhood like?" She asked not sure how to phrase her other questions. Emma knew it was hard but how?

Matt smiled. "Think about good things and happy things. Think about whatever you like." He said and looked up at her.

Hailey gave him and weird look before she shook her head. "Don't worry about it but why do you need to go to town?" she asked curiously as she reached up and cupped his cheek gently. "You know I love you so much and I know people have their ups and downs but I trust you," she said as she kissed him again gently.

Deric looked at her for a moment and bit his lip. "I have already told you. The nuns raising me, growing up in the school," he said as he watched her for a moment before he shrugged. "All things considered, I had a good childhood and it worked out." he said.

Anna watched him for a moment and smiled as she leaned over and for the first time in a long time, she kissed him gently. "Happy and good mean I'm thinking about you," she said.

Tyler smirked. "Well it's a surprise." He said and put her hands on her hips grinning. "I'm glad you trust me because I love you more then anything." Tyler smiled and kissed her. "Now I should get going before Kayla wakes up I sort of promised not to leave her and as long as she is asleep I don't hqve to worry about it." Tyler kissed her once again then jogged off to het what he needed from their room.

Emma nodded. "Right I just thought tuere might be more to the story with how passionate you are but I guess I shouldn't try reading into your words and leave it to you." She smiled and oissed his cheek checkimg the cobbler as well.

Matt yeod still letting his lips kiss her back. He smiled at what she said and chuckled. Of course he was her happy thoughts, she was his.

Hailey watched as he ran off and she shook her head with an amused smile on her face. Walking back to the kids, she continued to help them get stuck. She had to admit that she was so proud of how mature and responsible and helpful they were all being at the moment.

Kayla continued to sleep peaceful in a demon free world.

Deric looked at her for a moment. "My parents abandoned me. They had no way of knowing if I was a freak or not and yet they still got rid of me." He said. He continued to get things together as he spoke. "I was hated before anyone had a reason."

Anna looked at him for a moment before beginning to eat her sandwich. She looked out over the lake and smiled happily as the sunlight reflected off and made the water appear to sparkle.

Tyler was headed to town trying to think of the best style of ring for Hailey. He bit his lip. He was thinking traditional with a flare of color. Tyler rubbed the back of his neck anxiously. How do you pick out a ring for someone that would wear it hopefully for the rest if her life?

Emma stood thrre bitting her lip watching him. Emma went over to him and stopped his busy hands by holding them. "Maybe it's not what you think. Have you ever tried to find them?" Emma looked into his eyes just wanting to comfort him. She wanted him to know that she was there for him.

Matt grinned so happy that she was eating. He would climb to the top of every hill in the world to see her this happy. He yook a small bite of his own sandwich. Matt grinned and looked out over the beautiful lake.

Hailey helped out the kids and smiled at them as she moved all around. This is crazy, she thought as she ran her fingers through her hair. She could do it for today but not for a week or something like that. It would he too much for her to try and take care of all the kids all alone.

Deric watched her for a moment before nodding slightly. "I have but there is no where for me to start," he said. "I was left on the doorstep. No one saw anyone leave me," he said with a sigh as he stepped away. "Come on, we need to help Hailey and get dinner on the table."

Anna smiled as she finished the sandwich before she laid back and liked up at the clouds. Smiling, she relaxed enjoying the air around her and soon, she found herself drifting off.

Tyler smirked as he stood in the ring store looking through rings and sighed as the sales lady tried to help him and he just kept shaking his head. "What do you give a woman that is everything to you and the strongest person you know? There is just nothing that measures up. I want something one of a kind."

Emma frowned and nodded trying to think it over as they finished up dinner and she took out desert to let it cool. "Should I go get the kids to start sitting down for dinner?" she asked.

Matt grinned as he finished. He sat there for a while before he laid back. He looked over at her seeing her eyes droop and he closed his eyes just resting. He hoped she slept. He meant really slept but he just was trying not to wish for more then he should hope for in one day.

Hailey continued to help but soon began directing kids toward the table in order to get them ready for dinner that smelled like it was done. Walking into the kitchen, she began to help Deric and Emma get stuff in the table for everyone.

Deric kissed her cheek gently. "Thank you for worrying," he said honestly as he began to help bring stuff out and get stuff on the table so the kids could eat and enjoy.

Anna dozed off before her eyes popped open and a shudder ran through her body. Pushing herself up, she ran her fingers through her hair and glanced over at him. "If you keep worrying so much you will get gray hairs," she said teasingly.

Tyler smiled as he found the perfect ring he grinned bought it and then was on his way home the ring in his pocket. He walked in and went up checking on Kayla but she was still asleep. He smiled and went down to the dinning hall kissing Hailey's cheek. Yes he had a feeling it would be a perfect ring for her.

Emma smiled softly and then helped Deric and Hailey with the table then the kids watching them come in. She grinned happy that most of them didn't seem frightened of her. Emma helped the kids with their food trying to get Hailey to relax a little. She looked like she might pass out. She looked tired.

Matt bolted up when she woke. He looked at her calming at what she said and he smirked. "Well I am glad that you find it amusing. Besides it is my job to worry about you and I should listen to my worries." he said and kissed her hand gently.

Hailey looked up at the two of them for a moment before she sighed and tried to relax. She could feel the exhaustion creeping up through her limbs. Looking up, she smiled as Tyler kissed her cheek before she sighed again. Moving around, she helped a few other kids get food and cut it but she was tired and it was obvious.

Deric watched Hailey before grabbing her arm and guiding her out. "Emma and I got it. Tyler!" he called out. "Take care of Hailey. She is about to pass out on us," he said. He smiled at her gently before going back to helping Emma.

Anna watched him and smiled gently as he kissed her hand. "You would look good with grey hair," she said with a chuckle as she smiled at him happily before relaxing back and looking up at the sky.

Tyler smiled and went to her before she helped another kid. "Hailey go up stairs and take that bath I set up for you." He said and kissed her head. "Hun you deserve a nice long bubbly break. Don't you worry. We have been up early running from kids and you don't have my energy." He winked. Tyler thanked Deric and swept Hailey up into her arms taking her up to the buble bath with candles he had drawn a little while before. He felt the tempature and smiled as it was just right. "Hop in." He said as he set her down.

Emma smiled not minding helping the kids. Emma wondered if there was someone out there that could help them find more help that would be best for the school. Emma smiled at Deric and continued helping the kids but they looked prety tired too.

Matt smirked. "You only say that because you love me." He smiled and sat there gently moving a peice of her hair out of her face that the breeze moved.

Hailey looked at him for a moment before she slid out of her clothes. Moving to the tub, she let out a moan as the warm water caressed her skin. "This feels great," she said as she closed her eyes and relaxed into the water. Glancing up at him, she smiled. "Are you going to join me?" she asked curiously as she motioned for him to come in as well.

Deric smiled at her before beginning to help some of the younger kids get ready for bed. Soon, the rest had caught on and almost everyone was heading back to get ready for bed. It was that kind of tiring day, he thought as he continued to help out.

Anna looked at him and laughed softly. She bit her lip and watched as his hand touched her and she let out a breath before forcing herself to relax. She hoped he knew that she was trying.

Tyler smirked and stripped off getting in and kissing her shoulder. He then started to rub her shoulders to help her get the tension out. Tyler smiled tu8s was amazing. He was so nervous womdering if he shoild do it now or later. He knew that he only had a few more jours before he had to return to Kayla to keep his promise.

Emma sat down eating some food after the last of the kids where in bed. She sihhed smiling as she remembered the reaction to the cobbler. The kids had been so excited. Emma sat back looking up as she saw Deric come down the stairs.

Matt bit his lip amd bery carefully, slowly and softly leaned down and kissed her head then pulled back letting her have a break. He looked out over the lake.

Hailey smiled softly as she leaned her head back against his chest and relaxed. "Thank you," she said, "you spoil me," she said with a teasing tone in her voice as she smiled and sunk deeper into the water. She began moving her fingers in the water, creating designs and different shapes in the water.

Deric smiled as he moved over to her and sat down. "Hey," he said as he kissed her gently. He got some good for himself and smiled gently. "What are you thinking about so intently?" He asked although he already knew what was going through her head.

Anna smiled shyly as he kissed her and she relaxed, letting the sun kiss her skin. "We should head back at some point," she said softly although she made no motion to move.

Tyler smiled watching her. "I love you Hailey." He said and kissed her shoulder. He really wanted to ask her now but he was thinking he should wait.He was so nrnervous. He wanted to make her his wife.

Emma chuckled. "You already know! I'm thinking about teaching the kids. I truly love them already." Emma chuckled and ran her hand through her hair. Emma smiled softly.

Matt smiled. "Lets wait here a little longer." He said and grinned. Matt watched her lovingly.

Hailey looked at him and reached down as she touched his leg gently. "Why are you so nervous?" she asked curiously as she ran her hand over his leg and relaxed back against him with a smile on her face.

Deric watched her for a moment with a smile as he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her cheek gently. "I know but I like to hear the enthusiasm in your voice," he said.

Anna nodded with a smile on her face as she leaned back and looked up at the sky again.

Tyler smiled bitting his lip. "Lets just say it has been awhile since we have beenable to relax together in the tub. Tyler smiled knowing he excuse sucked. "And I have to stay up to watch Kayla." He said making it sound believable now. "All I really wanna do is stay with you."

Emma giggled. "Have you talked to Hailey and Tyler about it yet?" She asked and slipped her legs into his lapas she finished her meal and leaned back in her chair.

Matt smiled gaging the sun to give them another 10 minutes of leasure time before they had to go back. Unless they really wanted to walk back in the dark.
