I have two budgies I’ve named Elton and Mercury (Elton John, and Freddie Mercury) and I got them from my aunt and they’re still babies (4 months-q year)

My aunt breeds birds and I live an apartment that I can’t have pets out of a cage in, and I wanted something that I could interact with and would be kinda like having a cat or dog (something that showed it loved you unlike a goldfish XD) and she said I could have two for my birthday

So the catch was I LITERALLY had to catch them. She didn’t fool with them much due to her age so they were pretty grumpy but I’ve gotten them to fly around my room some and I can let Elton sit on my shoulder and he’ll hang out with me. Mercury is still a bit flighty on the whole thing (pun intended XD)

So yes, I do have birds (I call them my feather babies) Mr. Green

I find birds very intriguing creatures. I'd love to own one someday -- a house bird, but I also wouldn't mind keeping chickens at some point. A friend of mine owned a Harris hawk for a few years and I've always loved birds of prey so I feel like I'd love to do that too.

I used to have a pet lovebird about three and a half years ago--he was my favourite pet, and honestly was my reason for living for a short time. We had him since I was in elementary school and he was somewhere between 10-15 (we found him stranded in our yard one day, so we don't know how old he was before we kept him) when he died. He was my fluffy buddy and he loved me more than anyone else in the house (despite my aunt usually changing the food and water, because I was out frequently for school/work. But I was the one who would let him out to stretch his wings).

There was a couple years where my aunt was breeding lovebirds and would always give us some--there was a time when we had 10 lovebirds at once! But eventually we had to give them away (it was really too many birds). Previous to our main lovebird, we did own a couple of chickens/roosters that my uncle would give to us. But those got given away as well...since I was younger then, the roosters scared me because they would chase me around our house lol.

If I could, I would love to have a pair of parakeets, or another pair of lovebirds. Any birds honestly, I just love them so much. But I'd hate to only have one again and for it to get lonely while I'm out, so I'm gonna only get pairs from now on.
