In 1996, Tobacco Companies said that drinking a glass of milk a day was riskier then second-hand smoke. I just read that little fact, what do you guys think of that?
    Whole milk.

That fact is "In 1996 Tabacco Companies said taht drinking a glass of whole[/b[ milk a day was riskier than second-hand smoke.

What do I think? I think its bull.
I've never heard of whole milk giving you cancer.
I've always been under the impression that dairy products were good for you, and all the crap they put into cigarettes is bad.

I started smoking because all my friends did.
Now I'm still stuggling to quit. It's been 2 weeks now, I just hope I can last.

Don't smoke. Don't be tempted to give in and try that one cigarette, because before you know it you'll be addicted. And quitting really ain't much of a laugh.

    I do it, but I shouldn't.
I'm quitting, but to me it comes easily to quit.
I just smoke socially now instead of chain smoking.
    It's not worth dieing.

I guess whole milk has a lot of fat, and lots of fat can make your arteries go bye bye.
But it's a bit of a long shot. You would have to drink a stupid amount of milk and do no exercise at all for years and years.

Anyway. Apparently now they have no smoke in pubs here, all people can smell when they go in is piss, stale beer and sweat. I guess the smoke at least masked those smells. xD

Excuse me if I sound loony but somehow killing myself slowly and stinking like tobacco doesnt sound like a wonderful way to die.

    Tobacco is just nasty.

My dad puts pot on his tobacco. So it smells a little less terrible.

I can barely stand to touch people who smoke. They just smell bad, ok?.

Just an other reason to not smoke.

The thing is. How many people regulary drink whole milk?
Everyone I know drinks 2% or less. >.>
    Most people drink non fat.
    Tabacco companys are insane.

In my city you can't smoke in public places that don't serve alchohal. I like that law.

I really don't think that you can compare drinking milk to smoking tobacco. It's a little ridiculous. The tobacco companies will say anything in order to seem uncorrupt.

In my city, you can't smoke in public places at all.

My whole life, I've been around smokers. My father has a 40-a-day habit, while my mother gets through at least 15 on any given day. And the rest of my family smoke, as well, including my sister (who smokes far more pot nowadays, actually) her boyfriend and then a lot of my parents friends.

From a young age, I was under the impression that smoking was just something you started one day, hah! But seriously, it wasn't until I was about 10 that I decided I didn't want to smoke, or that I really developed a problem with it. All of a sudden, I'd complain whenever anyone smoked around me, which made it difficult to go to pubs or anything with my parents. However, that all changed when I was about 13, and I started smoking.

So almost everyone I know smokes... my family, friends, the people I walk by everyday on my way to school. I guess there's an abnormally high proportion of smokers in my town? And I'm one of them. To be honest, I don't really see the point in smoking... I know why I started, but I'm not entirely sure why I continue. I like the act of it, I guess, and it gives me something to do with my hands and something to help with the oral fixation I have (I constantly want something to do with my mouth, which usually takes the form of compulsively drinking or smoking), but it's not like it does a hell of a lot else, besides slowly kill me and keep me addicted to wasting far too much money on bloody tobacco companies.

    ^I'm a half-hearted smoker.
I've been smoking on and off for about four years and I still never find that I need them. I don't really smoke at home on my own, unless I feel like being mildly rebellious/pissing my parents off.

My mom can't really complain, though. She started smoking when she was twelve. I suppose she did give up when she got pregnant, though.

I don't plan on getting hooked. I don't need to smoke, I guess I don't really have an addictive personality. And buying cigarettes always pisses me off - too damn expensive!

I kind of like the whole ritual of it though - lighting up, inhaling... it's... just appealing. Tastes like shit, though.

So, yeah. I have no idea why I smoke. I suppose I'll stop soon.

    I'm a non-smoker that smokes.
I don't get addicted to cigarettes and I can go months at a time without one.
I only like to smoke when I'm doing something else.
Driving, talking, hanging out with people, etc.
I don't like to just go outside and smoke.

I've smoked once. A whole cigarette. :lmfao Go me, right?

I really didn't see anything special about it. It just made me dizzy, and made me look like a total dumbass in front of one of the dudes I hate. [who, oddly enough, was the one to give me the cig in the first place.]

I could see myself smoking if I was stressed, because i have to admit, it is a bit relaxing.

Just the thought about getting cancer and dying scares me too much. If it WASN'T bad for you, I'd smoke. :lmfao But if it wasn't bad, we wouldn't be having this discussion now, would we?

If you're an adult and you choose so smoke in the privacy of your own home or with friends who don't mind then I'm ok with that. But I hate having to breath other peoples smoke. There's a smoking in public places ban now in England which is great but what really sickens me is that I'm in year 9 and girls in my year smoke and many of them were smoking last year too.
I don't get what brings them to do it when they know it's killing them. We had to make posters on the dangers of smoking last year and it had no effect on them.
Me and my friend were talking to one of those girls yesterday and she said she was dying for a fag. She was coughing really badly. My friend said 'You know those cigarettes are killing you? Chances are you'll die years before me. Do you want that?'
The girl just laughed and shrugged.

I agree that smoking shouldn't be done in public.
And it really, really pisses me off when I see pregnant women smoking or people smoking with their kids in the car.

I plan to never have a cigarette evern near my lips. I find it disgusting, and as a child who has a parent that does so inside the house, I know how much it sucks for the kid. I don't want to have black lungs when I grow up, and I want to be able to live like I'm 40 when I'm 50. I want to be able to walk up stairs and hiking, ect.. when I'm older.
