Julieta smirked to herself when she handed forward the note, wanting to see what type of reaction she got this time. Her jaw dropped open when she got no reply except for Tobi handing back the note, and she had to shake her head in approval... Damn, this girl was more stubborn than she had imagined! Well, If Julieta was concerned, Tobi would surely pass the test for a good match for Caden, since she would certainly give him a run for his money... And, for once, Julieta actually liked the girl... Not that many Weres brought humans around anyways, but still... She approved! Then the nastiest, most evil plan took root in her head, and she felt the need to lean her head back and go muahahaha! But she resisted that need. If she couldn't get Tobi to react to something like that, she definitely knew what would get a spark of jealousy going. ...What if I told you I had a crush on Caden? She scribbled on the little piece of paper...

Tobi gave a small start in surprise as after a few moments the note was handed back to her by Julieta. She gave her a curious glance, wondering what in the world could be going on in her mind as she opened it. Her eyes skimmed down to the bottom, reading the latest thing she had written, and she actually had to re-read it a couple of times to make sure she was seeing those words correctly, surprise evident. She didn't know why she should care if Julieta had a crush on Caden, especially since she barely knew either of them, but for some reason she did, though she did her damnedest not to show it, taking up her pencil and scribbling something underneath it. I don't know...what if? Do you think he likes you back? Folding the paper again, she passed it to Julieta, feeling a little anxious as she waited for a response. She fidgeted a little in her seat, something unusual for her, and she hated herself for it, forcing herself to sit still and at least try to focus on the lesson.

Julieta couldn't help but smirk as the paper was handed back to her as quickly as it was, the slightest of shaking apparent from Tobi's hand. Whether Tobi owned up to the fact or not, she knew that this had some effect on her... She just hoped Tobi hadn't taken it the wrong way and said something to the effect of "I'm happy for you!" ...Even Julieta would have a difficult time talking herself out of that one - though she knew that at some point she would have to come clean to her anyways. She sighed in relief slightly as she read the scribbled handwriting on the note. It was obvious this lie was affecting her since the handwriting was so shaky it's words prodded for information. She smirked a little... They were innocent white lies... Why not have some fun with it and try to break her down?! She thought for a minute before thinking of what to write, since she'd never had anything than a sibling relationship with Caden. Hmm, I don't know... And maybe I'm just too shy to say anything to him, but there's just something special about him! We've been close and I always want to kiss him - and sometimes I think he wants to back! I just love his light blue eyes.. I could get lost in them! And the way that he always takes charge? Absolutely sexy...

(I feel sorry for Tobi around all these weres xD)

A sinking feeling grew in the pit of Tobi's stomach as she did her best to pay attention to the class, though it was an unsuccessful attempt and she found her concentration divided on the words on Julieta's note, both what she had written and what the other girl had, and then on Caden. As the note was passed to her again, her eyes scanned over it, this time only once, and she found herself biting her lip without even meaning to. She wasn't sure this time around she could reply and after a few minutes of fishing for words in her head, she finally gave up with a sigh and put her head down on top of the desk. This place was basically a break down waiting to happen for her, she was starting to see, whether she wanted it or not, and everyone seemed determined to make it worse. Taking a small inhale of breath, she scribbled something and handed the note back to Julieta. Then tell him. Three simple words, but at the same time they felt like three powerful words as well.

Julieta sighed as she felt that she had done well in what she had written. Not only had she felt accomplished for lying so cleanly, but she also believed that she had mirrored what Tobi must've been feeling - along with her own types of touches that she knew she had to add to make it not seem so linear... She felt pretty good about it, and she smirked when Tobi handed the note back to her, confident about what it said. Her jaw dropped to the floor when she read the three words on the piece of papers... The three simple words that displayed Tobi's neglect of her crush, but also just how much Julieta's crush was crushing down on her. Ok, no, I can't do that! She scribbled back on the note. Part of her wanted to just come out and tell her that she was just joking about it, but she wanted to take it slow... Make her roast in her pain for a little anyways... She handed the note back forward.

    [i know, sorry! >.<]

(no need to be sorry! It's funny ^-^)

Tobi didn't know what to expect in response from Julieta, hoping nothing really, and sighed softly when the note was handed back to her. She read it quickly, giving a small shake of her head, having no desire to continue the conversation further. Okay then...I think I'm just gonna pay attention to the math lesson now. Bye... She handed the note back, not expecting it back this time around, and leaned back in her seat, sinking back as she twirled her pencil lazily in her hand, not really knowing what to do at this point, and started to just pay attention tot he lesson because that's what she had said she was going to do. She had no idea what she was going to do for lunch...maybe go find some corner somewhere and sit alone- for some reason, she had no desire any longer to be around people for the moment, and she guessed from the note passing that Julieta and Caden would be sitting together with whatever other friends they had anyway. Oh well, maybe the library was a good place to eat lunch.

Julieta groaned to herself when the note came back. It didn't host the type of response she had been hoping for - a "why not?!" or something of the sort... No, instead this girl had to be so damn stubborn and avoid her now. All Julieta wanted to do was shake her and make her realize the feelings that she was feeling were jealousy and crushing... It couldn't be that difficult! Especially with a guy as irresistible as most girls said Caden was. Still, Julieta persevered, knowing that she had two things on her side: a) Julieta had become Tobi's only friend so she couldn't just do okay with out her, and b) she was obviously crushing hard on Caden... She had just taken her dangerously close to the cliff that was her breaking point... She had better be careful now! No silly! I can't talk to him about it because I DON'T have a crush on him! I was just saying that stuff to try to make you realize your own feelings! She wrote back, placing a big winky face beside it and she handed it back up even though Tobi had made it quite clear she was done.

Caden was just sitting there patiently, trying to pay attention to class. He was quite aware of the rustling of papers and the scribbling of hard letters, but he tried to ignore it,.. He had to leave the thing of his fate in Julieta's hands and he trusted her to work her magic like she usually did. That was when he felt the vibrating in his pocket and instantly went to grab his phone, praying that this didn't read how she hated him or something like that. He didn't know how he would have handled himself if if did... Damn, she's so stubborn! Julieta had texted him and he breathed in slight relief... At least it didn't say how she had failed. I know, but I trust that you're breaking her down for me? He responded and got a winky face for an answer...

[i know xD... Sorry, I thought I had to throw a little bit of Caden in here too, I missed him tehe lol]

(haha, I miss him too! Even though he hasn't been gone for long ^_^)

Tobi had just closed her eyes for a moment when a familiar sound of rustling paper brought her attention back to the present and she found herself surprised to see the note back on her desk. Not really wanting to see what was inside, she still opened it, cursing her curiosity all the while, and read slowly what Julieta had written. About three quarters of the way through, her eyes widened and her mouth formed a sort of 'o' shape before she pressed it closed, looking at the note after she was done reading- just looking because she didn't know what else to do, what her mind should be comprehending about what she was thinking. She had been trying to push those feelings back for most the day; was she really that obvious or was it just Julieta? For some reason, she didn't actually want Caden to know...not yet at least if ever, because she didn't really want to admit it either. But if Julieta knew...then...there was nothing she could do but hope at this point. Okay, I get your point -.- Don't say anything to him though! she wrote in return.

[i know... He just has that effect on people!! ;)]

Julieta smiled as Tobi took quite a longer time replying to this explanation than what she had before. At least she knew that she wasn't going to get a blank "goodbye" message again, since she knew she had just batted a home run with this one and it had really hit Tobi right in her soft spot. When the letter came back, she smirked at what she had said. She wished she could have taken a picture of the note and sent it to him, but she would do things in the traditional way... And that was to not give all of her new friend's secrets to the boy that she had a crush on - whether that boy had puppy dogs eyes as blue as his or not. She almost felt bad that she was dogging Tobi so harshly; she was a nice girl... And when in the hell did Caden decide it was okay that a human and a Were could be in a relationship anyways?! Still, she honored what Caden asked her to do, not only for his benefit, but for Tobi's too... He would be a good match for her... Ok... So now that we're on the same page that you like him, let's talk. Why are you avoiding him like he's the plague?! He's a boy, and you are a girl. Be a flirt, Tobi!

This time Tobi was prepared for a response, but she was still somewhat surprised at the words that she saw on the page. She chewed on her lip for a moment, not quite sure what to reply- it would be so much easier and so faster if she could just talk to Julieta directly. Sighing softly, she scribbled across the page. I don't know. I have tried to have a conversation with him, but I just feel so awkward and then he does something that makes me get defensive. It was hard to actually write it down and admit that she did have a crush, however small, on Caden, but it was no use actually denying it at this point. And just as she had passed the note back to Julieta the bell rang signaling the end of fourth period and for everyone to go to lunch. She glanced back at her new friend as she read the note, while at the same time gathering her things together, and then went over to Julieta's desk, not quite knowing what else to do. She knew she could have just gone off, but with how their conversation had just gone, she kind of wanted to see what her friend had to say.

Julieta sat there eagerly, waiting for a response when the bell rang. Had it really been a whole class period already?! Wow, she was completely screwed considering she hadn't paid any attention to the class. She cursed Caden slightly, since it was his fault, but ignored it when she noticed Tobi standing by her desk. She hadn't expected her to be waiting for her considering the way she had gotten quite rough in the conversation, and she knew she wasn't the first. God, the Weres were giving a whole bunch of crap to this innocent poor girl. It was quite sad... Noting that Caden was still in the room, Tobi said nothing, but handed her the note. Julieta nodded and waited until Caden was gone from the room to speak. "I know," she replied to her forgiving human friend. "Caden has that way about him that he knows how to step over boundaries and pick at people's sensitive spots... He doesn't mean to, and he means well most of the time! Are you joining us for lunch?"

Caden waited as the bell rang, taking his time gathering his belongings. Part of him wanted to stay in and invite Tobi personally to lunch, but he feared refusal. Anyways, as far as he could tell, Julieta had it covered and he silently thanked her for that. Instead of waiting though, he only left without speaking a word to either of them or glancing their way. He couldn't stop himself from eavesdropping though, and took to leaning against the wall not far from the door. Apparently they had been doing much talking about him, judging by their conversation, and he wished that he hadn't been such an unintentional jackass. He breathed in and out in annoyance at himself. When the topic of lunch came up though, he couldn't listen anymore. He almost didn't want to know her answer... He was terrified to find out. He took off down the hall to the cafeteria. He swore to himself as he figured he'd just have to wait and see what she decided to do...

Tobi noticed that Julieta waited until Caden was out of the room before saying anything, and she was grateful to her new friend for that. At what she said, she couldn't help but think about Caden himself, and how he had acted on a couple of occasions, and she honestly wondered what he had been thinking when he had done them. Like when he had stolen her map and threw it across the room, when he had taken her schedule, waited for her outside the office even after she had said she would get a map. Sighing softly, she managed Julieta a small, almost weak smile at her words. "Is that a hint that I should, or just a question?" she asked at the lunch offer. "I was thinking about hiding out in the library. I'm not much of a people person anyway, if you haven't been able to tell."

Julieta smiled at her friend as she spoke how she wasn't a people person. She highly doubted that, but even if she wasn't, she would learn to be one once she got to know Caden better. If Julieta knew anything about Caden it was that he had a way of revealing things to people about themselves that they had never dreamed of knowing. He was unfortunately very cunning and hard to resist, and she knew Tobi would only be able to for so much longer..
"Tobi, I think it's a hint!" She said in a laugh as they walked from the geometry room down the hall. Julieta could smell Caden's fresh scent and wanted to growl. She would have to scold him for eavesdropping later... "I know you're not really a people person, but come see! My table's pretty fun! And Caden will be there, so that had to be the icing on the cake right?!" She beamed at her new friend and hoped for a yes answer.

Tobi couldn't imagine what other kind of people would be at the table with Julieta and Caden- she thought of the two of them kind of like extremists in the personality department, and somehow she guessed that their friends would be just the same, maybe not in personality, but extreme in personality. Maybe it was a trait of the town, the people being outgoing instead of reserved...she didn't know, but if that was the way or if she was going to persist in having friends like Julieta and Caden, then she was going to have to get used to it. Already, she was proving stubborn enough to resist their...outgoingness, but she was slowly being worn down as the day treaded on, and she wasn't sure how much longer she could keep it up. As she let Julieta lead her down the hall towards the cafeteria, Tobi chewed on her lip, a bad habit she had- mainly because a lot of the time she ended up making it bleed. Finally, she sighed softly and gave a resilient nod of her head. "Okay, I'll try it out. If I don't come back tomorrow though, it's probably just because it's a bit too extreme for me," she answered.

    [its fine :P]

Julieta smiled a little as they resumed walking down the hallway together. She had great thanks that she had agreed to come, because otherwise she knew that Caden would've had her strangled... Figuratively speaking of course, but she knew he would be upset. She liked Tobi, of course, but she was bewildered by Caden. There was something about this girl that had made her completely different from the rest in his eyes... She wished she could have this secret - not for Caden to see, but the rest of the male population at the school since she didn't like being alone and she usually went unnoticed. She'd have to get her to share her secrets at some point! Julieta laughed, though, when Tobi gave her an unsure answer about eating lunch with them. God, Caden had been sooo close to scaring her away completely; she was happy she had intervened. "Don't worry about! They aren't all as highly strung as Caden is, so you have nothing to worry about!" Then they arrived at the cafeteria and she walked Tobi to the table in the back where Caden was already lounging.

Caden could smell Tobi from a distance and his heart started to beat faster when he thought that she had actually chosen to come eat with them. He smiled when he saw Julieta walking over to the table with Tobi in tow and he tried to settle his breathing so that it didn't sound as excited as before. He didn't know what he was going to say when she came over though, because they hadn't gotten off on the best foot, and he didn't want to say anything else stupid... When she sat down at the table, he took the easy way out: he said nothing. If she wanted to talk, she could initiate the conversation...

Tobi still felt curious glances her way as she walked into the cafeteria, but the probing stares were becoming less, she noticed, and she was grateful for that at least. She was much too used to going unnoticed for the most part to suddenly have people staring at her and trying to talk to her. So far though, only Julieta and Caden had attempted it, which surprised her a little considering. As Julieta led her to the table where her friends were sitting though, she also noticed that it seemed pretty much separate from everyone else, and for a moment she wondered at this, mumbling a hardly coherent "Okay," to Julieta to let her new friend know that she had been listening to her. It wasn't long before she saw Caden as well, and his disinterested gaze as it seemed to brush over her shoulders. She felt her shoulders relax a bit from the tension they held as she let Julieta direct her to the lunch table. She had planned to simply find a seat that wasn't being used, until Julieta pushed her down into a seat beside Caden and on the edge, practically toppling her into him.

Devyn was at the table with Caden when Julieta and Tobi showed up. He looked over to Caden- he could practically see him drooling, which made him want to snicker a little, though he held it back. "Looks like our friend was successful in her mission," he said, sort of off-handedly as he glanced over to him, thinking about teasing him about calming down before he scared her off, but held it to himself instead, deciding to be a little nice at least. When Tobi sat, practically being pushed into Caden while being seated by Julieta, he laughed, shaking his head at the other were. "Geez, Julieta. Have you ever heard of the term gentle? If you haven't, I can give you the definition." He had a habit of bantering with his friends, a lot usually, and teasing them mercilessly, but really what he was good for was being practically a walking encyclopedia. And what he didn't know got researched so he would.

Julieta smirked a little as they made their way to the cafeteria. She watched the way Caden's eyes ravaged Tobi's body quickly before returning to a look of indifference. She winked towards his direction, silently saying her "you owe me big time for this," and continued leading her away from the puny humans that were densely packed in the middle of the cafeteria, while their table was far in a corner. Anticipating that Julieta intended to sit in a seat unoccupied, one far away from Caden, she pushed her farther than the seat she had stopped at to sit in. She pushed her shoulders down to try to lead her roughly into the seat beside Caden, though she may have miscalculated a little and her butt nearly missed the seat. For Julieta's miscalculation, she almost had landed in Caden's lap and she smirked slightly to herself - at least it would have given the desired effect for Caden and expose Tobi to the friction between them. Julieta stuck her tongue out at Devyn when he went to pick on her for her roughness with Tobi. Always the voice of reason, he was. Always. "I am quite aware of the definition, Dev. There's really no need!" She argued with him before turning to Caden. "Well? Aren't you going to introduce Tobi to the table?"

Caden gasped a little as Tobi had almost fallen into him but had caught herself before doing so. He wished she hadn't... If only skin on skin contact would make her understand. Did she really not feel the way he was feeling whenever he looked at her. No, she probably wasn't... This was just an infatuation with a human girl. All Weres went through a "human phase" and it was such that this was just his. Give it a few weeks, maybe a month or two, and she would be completely vanished from his brain. They couldn't last this way, and they weren't intended to... That's why she was a human and he was a Were... He groaned a little at Julieta's request. He had vowed to himself that he wouldn't make any contact with her - if she so much as wanted to talk to him, she could do it herself. What was the point of putting himself out there if he didn't matter to her anyways? "Fine. Devyn: meet my new acquaintance, Tobi... And Tobi: meet my best friend, Devyn." Then he slouched back in his chair and turned his head away from hers. She could be stubborn, and he would be twice as stubborn....

Tobi's face flushed for a moment as she nearly fell into Caden's lap, but the color retreated as quickly as it had come as she sat up again, pulling her lunch from her bag. She always brought her own because she wouldn't eat cafeteria food. It wasn't that she had anything particular against it...she didn't like the taste of meat. For some reason, meat just tasted horrible to her and so she was pretty much a vegetarian for it. As a few moments later, she was introduced to the other person she had noticed at the edge of the table, a boy with dark hair and glasses in a wheelchair, she gave him a small smile, putting her hand out in an effort to be polite. "Hello Devyn, it's nice to meet you," she told him. She then glanced back to Julieta and Caden. "Is is usually only you three at the table?" she asked, a bit surprised that it was so empty, and she also wondered why Julieta hadn't allowed her a little more room from Caden. It seemed like the other girl was trying to push her towards him.

Devyn laughed at Julieta's response to his teasing, giving a small shrug as he smiled at her. "I guessed you would know; I feel it my obligation to ask being the nerd of our group though," he said, falling quiet as she got Caden to introduce him to Tobi. He smiled at the new girl who had seemed to have caught and grasped the attention of both of the other two weres, quite easily actually it seemed for such a small amount of time, and as she held out her hand for him, he took it and gave it a small shake. "It's a pleasure to meet you too, Tobi. Caden over here's been all bug-eyed since the beginning of last period," he added with a small wink, glancing past her shoulder to his friend who seemed to be seething at him now. As Tobi turned, he gave a slight shrug in response with a small grin. Though he respected Caden in his role of 'alpha' among their group, it didn't mean he exactly feared his friend, and he had good intentions anyway, so he felt it was alright to give Tobi a little hint of what's been going on with the other participant.

Julieta sat and watched the gentle hellos from both Tobi and Devyn as they took place. She almost wanted to throw a thumbs up in Caden's direction, but she avoided doing so to avoid an evil glare. She was almost surprised at his willingness to agree to the offer that he should introduce his two friends; she had expected more of a fight... In fact, she had expected more of a "why don't you introduce them?" response. If there was one thing she had learned about Caden, it was that he didn't like to lose, so when it came to that, he almost always got really stubborn and tried to turn the tables. She knew he was going to turn antisocial now, most likely - unless Tobi was willing to change that! Julieta almost burst out laughing as she heard what Devyn said too... "Oh yeah! I don't think bug-eyed even covers it!" She joked right along with him. She felt a kick against her shin and received a stern look from Caden, but she threw her head back in laughter to avoid it. She turned to look at Tobi to see what type of position this left her in....

Caden couldn't believe his friend at the moment. Here he was, trying to keep his cool and not let Tobi affect him the way she had been, but his friends were going to ruin that for him. Here they were picking on him, and he couldn't exactly just stay quiet! That would make him look guilty as charged! Man were they pissing him off now, and the only thing he could do was avoid looking at Tobi. At least be could pretend that none of this was affecting him as long as he didn't look at her. If he did, he would be fucked since he would get lost in those dark eyes... "I was not! What are you two on, drugs or something?! Are you sure you were even looking at me? Cuz I'm pretty sure you weren't!" He could feel a growl coming on and be did his very best to avoid it from showing, it getting stuck in his throat like a piece of gum that you accidentally swallowed. He wasn't used to having to be this cautious and he didn't like it. At the moment, he just wished Tobi wasn't there and he could breath without smelling her sweet scent...

Tobi had expected an answer to her question, then she was sorely disappointed as it was lost in laughter, smiles, and merciless teasing towards Caden. At what she had heard from Julieta and Devyn, she made sure not to look at him, not knowing he was doing the same, and it almost felt like some sort of invisible tension was building. She did want to break that tension and feel comfortable around him, but she wasn't sure how, and it was killing her mind trying to come up with the answer. And she had to admit, privately at least, that Caden's reply to their teasing did hurt a little. She masked it though so that it wouldn't show on her face, by munching on the salad she had brought and falling into silence as she listened to the friendly banter around her. It was nice not to be involved in it, which she seemed to have been since she had met Caden that morning. Munching on the salad for a few minutes since she hadn't been included in the conversation, eating in peace pretty much, she sighed softly in her head as she finished and took a long drink of her water, putting her lunch bag away as she finished, and glanced at the others. "I think I'm going to go in the library and look around for a book. Thanks for inviting me, Julieta, and it was nice to meet you Devyn," she said, giving a small smile and nod to every one before she got up and disappeared into the nearby library.

Devyn laughed as Julieta joined in with teasing Caden, grinning as his friend tried to deny the accusations they were throwing at him. Well, he could deny it out loud all he wanted, but the look he had said otherwise. "No Caden, I think we're on the right page with this. Except, maybe bud-eyed was the wrong word. Let's see, I'm sure with my vocabulary, I could come up with something..." he paused, trailing off at the end but to spare some future trouble, decided to leave it at that. Besides, he could practically see tension between Caden and Tobi now, as both refused to look at each other, and he gave Julieta a glance, though he didn't think she saw it. They ended up bantering more for a while longer while Tobi ate her food, and though she didn't join the conversation, she almost looked like she wanted to a couple of times. Caden, also, kept stealing glances her way which he took as a good sign. As she stood up and announced her leaving to the library, he shook his head with a soft sigh, then reached over and nudged Caden's arm, albeit a bit rougher than he had been aiming for. "Go on in there. Group conversations are no fun anyway," he smiled broadly.
