Don't Forget Me

Jon gave a slight smirk, glad to see that she seemed to have given up. Rolling his eyes, he grumbled, "Crazy chick," before he turned to go back to talking to his friend. He tried to brush off the encounter, figuring that the girl had simply gotten lucky with all of her observations. The chick was obviously some sort of lunatic stalker. Thinking about the encounter any longer would probably end up making him a lunatic as well. Shaking these thoughts away, he grinned and started joking around with his friends.

Claire glared down at the desk, clenching her fists. She should have stayed away, she knew that now. If she had simply stayed away from him, she wouldn't be feeling so terrible. Shaking these thoughts away, she sighed and decided on acting bored with the entire thing. She propped her elbow up on the desk and leaned her head against the palm of her hand, letting out an exasperated, annoyed sigh.

Marley sat there in quite shock. She watched him for her peripheral vision but pretended to not be paying attention. She couldn't believe that someone who looked so familiar - who still had a crooked smile and went by the same name - could be so much of a stranger. She pretended that it didn't bother her, but it really did... He had promised he would never leave her, and now he had. She was going to make sure that he regretted that.

Ethan watched the blonde girl, trying to turn her conversation from cheerleadering into something a little more interesting than this. A girl as pretty as that wasn't blessed with great conversation skills, since she was boring to talk to and he debated turning around and talking to the girl name Claire on his other side... He was that desperate to get away from this girl. It was a shame; he knew she had to be better at other things than conversation. Still, he didn't want to start another fight with the bitch on the other side. He didn't know who she was, and she was just crazy...

Jon gave a quiet sigh as he glanced around the classroom. He was growing bored with his conversation with his friend - not that he'd admit to it. The jokes were just usually the same, so he was rather used to it, having figured that they had grown dull. Running a hand through his hair, he turned his attention to the front, noticing how the teacher was starting the lesson. Great. Maybe the teacher could bore him to sleep; it wouldn't exactly be anything new.

Claire crossed her arms over her chest as she gave a low grumble, growing annoyed with being so close to Ethan after he had simply dismissed her so easily. Shaking the thoughts from her head, she bit down on her lip, wondering if she could just find somebody else to speak with - somebody who could actually remember her. She was in too much of a rotten, upset mood to even attempt that, though.

Marley was in fact quite sick of the fact that he was paying no attention to her... No attention to her whatsoever. This was the boy that everyone used to say had such a crush on her, and those feelings were returned, that she was quite hurt. How did he forget someone who he had cared for so much?! She turned her attention to the front of the class and noticed eyes on her other side that were studying her. She recognized those brown eyes... Mikey Callahan... They had been good acquaintances at the time that Marley was leaving, and Jon had always hated his guts. She wondered if they still hated each other, so she threw a smile in his direction to find out.

Ethan was rather satisfied when the teacher started the class. He was currently sandwiched between two girls that he didn't want to talk to anymore: one who was crazy and thought they had been friends. What, in a past life?! Yeah right, whacko... On the other side was the boring blonde who he was happy to turn his attention from. He had had such a positive outlook for the morning, but now it was just falling quickly as the class dragged on.

Jon arched an eyebrow when he noticed Mikey grin and wave at somebody, towards his direction. He furrowed his brows before noticing that it was directed towards the girl who had been so sure about his and her friendship. Seriously? Of course the person he hated the most would try to talk to the crazy chic. In his opinion, the two fit each other perfectly. Mikey leaned over towards Marley, arching an eyebrow. "Okay, why the hell is it that I recognize you?" he asked, having not heard the previous conversation between Jon and Marley.

Claire gave a quiet sigh. Silently, she wondered if everybody had forgotten about her. If Ethan forgot about her, had his parents forgotten about her as well? The boy's parents probably hadn't forgotten about her at all! At least, she hoped that was the case. She remembered how Ethan's parents would even take a lot of pictures of Claire and Ethan when they were playing and put them in a photo album. Maybe they still had that photo album? If she ever talked to them, she'd definitely have to find out, as she'd like to see all those pictures again.

Marley smiled at Mikey for a moment. He was pretty cute... Surely not as cute as Jon was, but he never had been in her opinion - since Marley had been pretty biased towards Jon. "I'm Marley! Do you remember me?" She asked with a smile. "Please tell me you remember me... I can't have two people that I used to be close to not remember me!" She didn't know what exactly she wanted with Mikey... Maybe she wanted to make Jon jealous... Maybe she just simply wanted him as someone to talk to... Or maybe he could do both and help her make Jon remember her...

Ethan really didn't know what to make of this girl anymore. He heard a small sigh come from her side of him, but he tried to disregard it. Boy, she was definitely crazy for coming up with such a twisted and original story... Still, there was something about her that intrigued him. He was pretty sure that to be a stalker with such a twisted grip on reality you had to know the person previously, but he had never seen her before in his life! If making him crazy with intrigue was what she was going for, she had succeeded in doing so...

Jon watched the two before scoffing at how much they seemed to be enjoying speaking with each other. Honestly, was Mikey falling for this girl's tricks? Mikey blinked before grinning. "Marley! I do remember you!" he said happily before chuckling a bit. "Where have you been the past few years? One day you were here, the next you were gone. And, you left me to deal with Jon's pissy attitude all by myself."

Claire blinked a few times when she felt her phone vibrate. Pulling it out of her pocket, she glanced down to read the text that her mother had sent her; apparently she was going to see Ethan's mother later, while Claire was still in school. The two women had known each other since high school and were best friends. Another text came after, asking if she had seen Ethan yet. She simply messaged back a 'No.' How was she going to tell her mother that Ethan had forgotten her?

Marley glanced quickly to her opposite side to see if this was affecting Jon at all. She knew that they used to be bitter with one another - especially when it came to girls and they were always competing to find the "better" girl. She hoped that this was affecting him somehow so that maybe she could get Jon and Mikey talking and possibly he could aid her in unraveling the chained memories. She didn't know why Jon had chosen to hide his memories away, but he had... "Yeah, we moved out of town for a temporary job change." She explained to Mikey. "I missed you though!" Well, couldn't hurt to at least flirt a little...

Ethan kept turning his head to smile at the blonde to keep his thoughts from racing about Claire on his other side. He felt his phone vibrate and almost groaned aloud when he saw it was only his mother; she got him all excited that he would have someone talk to... 'Going out to lunch with Jan. Mind if I invite the family over for dinner?' Was what the text read. He looked at the phone in confusion. He didn't know what Jan or the family had in significance to him.. 'Ok?' Was all that he texted back...

Jon narrowed his eyes at the two. From how they were talking, it seemed like they had known each other for ages. Perhaps they were just flirting, though. He brushed the thought aside, deciding not to be bothered with it anymore. Mikey grinned at her words. "I missed you, too!" he said before tilting his head to the side slightly. "Though, I'm surprised you're not talking to Jon. Or am I the only one you remembered?" He arched an eyebrow teasingly.

Claire frowned when she received another text, saying, 'You'll get to see him tonight, then. We're going over for dinner.' Claire ignored the message, muttering a quiet, "Damn." Well, that didn't help her much; Ethan would only accuse her of being a stalker or a crazy bitch again. She didn't want to deal with that.

Marley smiled at Mikey as she flipped her hair a little, pretending that she didn't notice the way that Jon was watching them. As far as he would know, she hadn't noticed... "Of course you're the only one I remembered!" She laughed, winking at him but pointing behind her. "Anyways, loser didn't remember me either, and you're much more fun to talk to!"

Ethan waited for his mother to text him back again, but he got no answer. She obviously hadn't understood the question in his sarcastic okay... He'd just have to figure out who these people were that his mom were talking about... But he was also quite scared to find out since everything that had happened today so far...

Jon scowled when he noticed that she had pointd at him. Who the hell was she to point at him? Much less to point at him while talking to that moron, Mikey! Mikey laughed before he shrugged and smiled. "Well, he's always pretty forgetful. I'm pretty sure he left his shoes at the playground every day in third grade," he joked before leaning back in his seat. "That sucks, though. I would have expected him to remember you of all people."

Claire gave a sigh as she looked down at her desk. Things could only get worse from there, that was for sure. She had already lied to her mother about not having seen Ethan. Now that she was being forced to go to the boy's house, her mother would find out the truth and an argument would likely erupt between herself and Ethan. Maybe she would just pretend to be sick or something.

Marley smiled. She had almost forgotten how much she had enjoyed Mikey's company before... Maybe that was because she was always so in love with Jon that she tried to forget... "Yeah, we'll that's what I thought too, but obviously it's possible because he did forget me!" She told him. "I don't know how, but I'm going to show him how stupid he was for doing that..."

Ethan looked at the teacher and tried to keep his eyes fixed there. All of this suspense was killing him and he wondered who was coming to dinner. He almost didn't want to know since things never liked to work in his favor. Maybe he could get out of it by just pretending he was sick or something...

Jon gave a sigh before he leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair. His mind was still whirling with trying to understand what this crazy chick even wanted. Mikey frowned slightly at the news before sighing and shaking his head. "I could help get him to remember you?" he suggested, "I'm sure a few of our other old friends wouldn't mind helping as well. I'm sure they'll remember you, too!"

Claire rested her head on the desk, not really caring if she got in trouble her not. She was starting to get a headache because of all the events of the day. Feeling rather rotten, she bit down on her lip, wishing that Ethan would somehow magically remember her again. She knew that was next to impossible, though, so she didn't put too much hope into the thought.

Marley saw the way that Jon seemed bothered out of her peripheral vision but she pretended not to notice. It was his fault that he was so confused by all of this and she was almost basking in the way that it bothered him. "Aw, Mikey! Would you really do that for me?" She was so taken aback and happy that he offered to do such a thing. It was nice to have such a great friend. "You're the best!"

Ethan sighed, slouching down in his chair and pulling the good of his sweatshirt up a little so that it could cover him a little. He felt like sleeping and getting over all of this confusion. What he needed was a girl to get his mind off of things... He wasn't about to turn back around to the blonde beside him though, because he needed someone interesting and fun to talk to... He'd never ever found a girl that he took an interest in though...

Jon rolled his eyes slightly at how the two seemed to be getting along so well. It was rather annoying and he wanted to knock some sense into both of them. Though, he knew he'd only get in trouble for that. Mikey grinned and shrugged. "I try, I try," he mused in a teasing tone before running a hand back through his hair and relaxing back in his seat. "Besides, it's no big deal. I'm sure it'll be fun annoying the hell out of him until he remembers."

Claire gave a sigh, glancing around the classroom. Hopefully, the day would end quickly. Even if that did mean going to Ethan's house, at least it would give her a chance to prove to him who she was. She doubted it would matter to him, though; he had turned into a major ass. She didn't even know why she cared still anymore. He had called her a crazy bitch, after all. He was the crazy one for forgetting his best friend.

Marley smiled again, feeling the hope that she might actually get Jon to remember her. She had at one time been so close to him and she wished that they could be close again - especially because she had always been madly in love with him secretly... "You always did have quite the knack for teasing him, didn't you?" She laughed with Mikey and put Jon in the back of her mind, enjoying time with the friend that hadn't forgotten her.

Ethan didn't know why this girl was still bothering him as much as she was. She hadn't made any more advances to try to befriend him, yet still it bothered him. He wasn't sure if he was more bothered by the fact that she wasn't trying anymore or the fact that she was crazy. All he wanted to do was go home and pretend this was all a dream...

Jon gave an annoyed sigh, rolling his eyes slightly. He was growing annoyed with this entire thing. He just wanted to go home and sleep. But, no. He was stuck in class with these two psychos. Mikey grinned before he shrugged slightly. "You and I both know that he always deserved it," he mused happily before sighing quietly and glancing around. At least the teacher wasn't really teaching, so they wouldn't get in trouble. "I think he especially deserves it now.

Claire tried to force away any further thoughts of Ethan. Though she had had the biggest crush on him for the longest time, it didn't matter. He didn't even remember her, so what was the point in being in love with him? There was no point in it and she knew it. In the end, she would only end up getting herself hurt, because she had been stupid enough to let herself remember him. She should have forgotten him just like he had forgotten her.

Marley shared a big smile with Mikey and laughed a little. "Okay, well sometimes he deserved it! But I will admit that you two were equally as evil and cruel to one another a lot of the time." She laughed a little and thought about all of the ways that she might be able to get under his skin... "But he's, he deserves it more than anything now!"

Ethan groaned slightly. God, why did this class period have to drag on like this?! All he wanted to do was get out of this place. He felt like he was being suffocated... First by the blonde on his left who kept pushing out her chest to flaunt her body and second by this Claire girl who was obviously insane. See, this is why he hated school...

Jon was growing increasingly annoyed with everything. It just didn't seem to make any sense. This girl really was getting to him, though she shouldn't be. Mikey grinned before he shrugged. "Oh, it happens," he said before chuckling a bit. Not much longer, class was dismissed and he stood up, looking towards her. "I'll make sure we have quite a few people speak with Jon after school, including myself. Everybody who remembers you will talk to him and try to get him to remember you as well." He gave a slight shrug before he looked around, leading the way out of the class. Jon had already gotten out of the classroom, long before them.

Claire sighed in relief once the class came to an end. Standing up, she adjusted her backpack before making her way out of the class, just wanting the rest of the day to be like any other first day at a new school. She could only hope that nothing else went wrong and that she didn't end up running into Ethan again.

Marley grinned at Mikey as the bell rang. She watched as Jon grabbed his things and got out of there as fast as he could and she wished things were different... She sighed. "Even if he doesn't truly remember yet, at least convince him that I'm not a stranger so I can talk to him about it." Then she kissed Mikey on the cheek. "You really are the best..."

Ethan groaned a little to himself as the bell rang - not because he liked this class or anything but because it reminded him that it was only first period. He had already been through hell... Ethan gathered his things without another word or glance at Claire and hoped she'd stay away from him for the rest of his life.
