Don't Forget Me

  • Jon blinked at her words before letting out a soft chuckle. "Yeah, I remember fighting that ass," he said. He didn't quite remember why he had fought him, but he had. And, he had hated him ever since. Though, he wondered why he hated every guy that he had known when he was younger. He pushed that thought aside before looking at her. "Why? Did that fight have something to do with you?" He figured it probably did and he found no reason to deny it if she said it was why.

Claire shrugged slightly to his words before looking up towards the ceiling. "That is kind of weird," she muttered softly before closing her eyes in thought. "There's probably a reason for it, though." Shrugging again, she let out a breath of relaxation as she let herself just calm down after the day's events. "What about that time we went fishing in the park and we had to both work together to get that huge fish out, since neither of us were strong enough to do so on our own?"

  • Marley smiled and bit her lip slightly, moving to next to him on the couch rather than opposite him. She nodded her head and cleared her throat, thinking about that day. "Yeah," she said with a giggle. "You were a clingy kid... Michael had a crush... He tried to kiss me one day and you completely freaked out on him." She felt herself blush and turned away.

Ethan's eyebrows wrinkled together and he shook his head. Gah, he remembered the fishing trip. He remembered everything, just not her... He had made many enemies...boy enemies...and he wondered how much of those were because of her. Still he couldn't remember her. "I remember that," he said softly, "only the fishing trip..." He shrugged and this was slightly annoying him. Why couldn't he remember anything?!

  • Jon arched an eyebrow to her words and despite not being able to remember it, he believed her. It wasn't like she had a reason to lie and he understood that now. "I see," he muttered before running a hand through his hair and sighing softly. "I can't really say that I'm surprised by that." After all, he already knew that he was fairly clingy when he was younger - his mother had informed him several times.

Claire nodded slightly to his words before sighing softly and leaning back against the couch and closing her eyes as she faced the ceiling. "That sucks," she muttered softly, trying to hide her disappointment with it and failing miserably. She didn't understand it. "Maybe you forced yourself to forget me or something." She gave a slight shrug, but wasn't too sure about anything anymore.

  • Marley just shrugged. She knew that his reference of knowing that he wasn't clingy wasn't directly linked to her since she had always remembered him being fairly clingy with his mom too - though she was always the one he clung to as a friend. She chuckled a little that he was so easy to say it though. "I didn't think the jock, popular type was one to admit that he loved his mommy," she teased.

Ethan didn't know what exactly he was supposed to say to her. He was trying to make her feel better - and himself in the long run... - but it was just working to make things worse. He felt shitty for not being able to remember the girl that was his best friend! "I don't know, maybe..." He said, shrugging at her suggestion. "I don't know how I could forget someone - err... um... you."

  • Jon arched an eyebrow before looking at her and rolling his eyes a bit, though more playful than anything. "She was the first woman in my life; of course I'm going to be clingy to her," he said before chuckling softly. Despite how easy-going everything felt at the moment, though, he still felt horrible for forgetting her. How was it even possibly to forget her when she didn't seem bad at all? If she had seemed bad, he would have possibly understood it.

Claire gave a slight shrug before looking over at him. "It happens, I guess," she said before sighing and running a hand through her hair. "You can't remember everybody." She forced a smile to her face before standing up and looking towards the kitchen. "Are you thirsty or something? I doubt you even stuck around at your house long enough to even eat."

  • Marley laughed at his words. Maybe he wasn't he little twelve year old that she remembered and loved every day, but that didn't change the fact that she loved him... It was almost crazy that she loved and hated him for resembling his old self so much. "Of course," she teased. "But the second one you forget..." She muttered to herself. She hated herself for thinking it though... That was wrong - at least he was here!

Ethan faked a smile at her. There was an awkwardness that slipped between them, but that was because he didn't know what to say! How could he justify forgetting his best friend when she had apparently meant a lot to him back then... "I'm actually starving," he said when she offered him food. "But I'm not going to inconvenience you. I can go..."

  • Jon sighed softly to her words before running a hand through his hair. "I'm sorry for that," he muttered softly, feeling rather awkward. What else was he supposed to say? He could apologize a thousand times, but it wouldn't bring his memories back; he was pretty sure about that, at least. Plus, he doubted that she would ever completely forgive him for forgetting her.

Claire rolled her eyes slightly to his words. "We can order out," she pointed out with a shrug, "That wouldn't be inconveniencing me." She sighed, running a hand through her hair and leaning back in her seat, biting down on her lower lip. "Do you want pizza or something?" She arched an eyebrow, looking over at him.

  • Marley sighed an shook her head when she knew he had heard her words. She wanted him to stop apologizing... It was stupid that she had to keep putting him through that when it wasn't going to fix his memory of her... "It's okay!" She said casually. "As long as you're okay with putting up with me now and making new memories!" She wasn't sure if she could ever get over losing a part of him that she loved so deeply, but she would certainly never stop loving him.

Ethan smirked at her when she suggested pizza. That sly little girl - he couldn't help but chuckle. "Sure, let's do pizza." He agreed still chuckling. Why she would still want him around he wasn't entirely sure... Didn't he ruin their friendship through this. "But I don't understand why you want me to stay!" He demanded of her. "You should just hate me!"

  • Jon nodded slightly to her words. "That sounds like a good plan," he murmured softly, running a hand through his hair. New memories wouldn't b able to replace the old ones, he knew, but at least the new memories would give them something to look forward to. Plus, it would also make things a little more comfortable between the two of them - at least, he hoped it would.

Claire frowned at his words before looking over at him, arching an eyebrow. "I've already forgiven you for it, so what's the point in continuously bringing it up? You're just going to make yourself feel worse about it," she said before sighing quietly. She pulled out her cell phone and called the local pizza place, glad that it was the same number as when she was younger and ordered Ethan's old favorite. Silently, she hoped it was still his favorite.

  • Marley moved over to sit closer to him. She was slightly tired out from all of the fighting and explaining that she just had to do with her best friend. It was just exhausting! She still felt awkward around this boy that she had assumed she knew but didn't really know so much anymore since they had grown very much apart. "Good, and I'm sorry if I've been really pushy." She told him. "If you don't want to be friends, I'm not going to force you into anything..."

Ethan shrugged slightly when she argued that it was doing no good to dwell on what was in the past. It was true, but he still felt awfully guilty for forgetting his best friend. When Claire called the pizza place, he sat there in amazement as she ordered his favorite,.. Down to the very toppings in the exact order he always said them. "Ok stalker," he said teasingly when she hung up. "Do you remember that, or are you just guessing?"
    March 6th, 2013 at 02:18am
  • Jon arched an eyebrow at her words before offering a slight smile. "You're not being pushy," he assured her before ruffling up her hair. He wasn't quite sure why he had done that, to be completely honest. It just seemed instinctual. Oh well. "I want to try being friends. If we were such great friends before, I'm sure that's still possible. We'll never know if we don't try, though. So, let's not give up so soon, okay?"

Claire rolled her eyes before sticking her tongue out at him rather childishly. "I remembered it," she said simply, running a hand through her hair before glancing around a bit and sighing softly. "Apparently, remembering small things like that is something I'm good at." It always had been something she was good at. At the moment, though, she felt like it was more of a curse.

  • Marley smiled when she felt Jon's hands in her hair. There was her best friend! - always there to mess up her hair and make her feel like a little kid. It flooded back so many memories and she could only smile at him because she didn't want to overwhelm him with all the reminiscing. "Yeah, you're right!" She said happily, taking his hand and squeezing it. It was probably overkill for so soon, but she felt like she just needed to hold his hand quickly.

Ethan blinked a few times as he listened to her explanation. It saddened him that he had chosen to forget everything about her - especially her favorite pizza toppings... "Well isn't that just adorable!" He teased lightly, nudging her lightly with his elbow. He laughed, and it didn't feel so awkward. He felt like he was on the very edge of memory... But it just wasn't coming back to him...

  • Jon blinked a few times, surprised to feel her take his hand. He didn't mind, though. In fact, it caused a smile to grace his features. Holding her hand just felt familiar, like it was how things had always been. At some point, it obviously had been how things were for them. He wished he could remember it all, though. "What do you want to do?" he finally asked.

Claire stuck her tongue out at him rather childishly, though she smiled at feeling him nudge her. "Oh, hush," she teased before laughing a bit. She felt rather content, being like that with him. She felt like they were back to how they used to be, though she knew that they obviously weren't.
    March 8th, 2013 at 03:56am
  • Marley shrugged, still paying attention to her little hand inside of Jon's larger one. "It doesn't matter to me," she said softly. She couldn't think straight just yet... She was too confused in holding him and she didn't know what to say. "Wait! Is there a bowling alley still around?!" One of their favorite things as kids...

Ethan threw his head back in a laugh when she stuck her tongue out at him. He felt like it took him back to the way they were when they were kids, but he wasn't so sure if that were possible. He wanted it to be possible so that they could be happy together again. He liked when she smiled. "Oh hush, what?!" He teased, poking her in the side.
    March 9th, 2013 at 02:06pm
  • Jon blinked before laughing quietly and nodding. "They've made a few more than they used to have," he pointed out, "Apparently they've been rather popular." Though, that could simply be because there wasn't much else to do in the town. Not that it really mattered. If bowling would make her happy, then he was all for it.

Claire grinned before shrugging slightly. She felt like they were little kids again, but pushed that thought aside. Eventually, she simply ruffled up his hair, hearing the doorbell ring. Standing up, she went to the door and got the pizza, paying for it, before closing the door and looking at Ethan. "Pizza's here," she mused happily.
    March 10th, 2013 at 04:40am
  • Marley jumped up and did her awkward little happy dance. It was her way to celebrate and usually Jon would've jumped up and joined right in with her. She smiled at him and blushed though when he didn't, understanding the slightly strange look he was giving her. "Sorry..." She said softly, embarrassed. "So can we go bowling?

Ethan felt comfortable beside her. He could see why they had been good friends. She was so down to earth and damn beautiful... Ethan let out a sound of excitement when she announced that the pizza was there. He went out and took the pizza from her hands. "Pretty girl like you shouldn't be doing any work!" He teased, carrying it to the kitchen.
    March 11th, 2013 at 09:45pm
  • Jon arched an eyebrow as he watched her do the little dance, curious as to why she had done so. Upon hearing her apology, he chuckled softly and shook his head. "You don't have to apologize. It was kind of adorable," he teased before standing up and nodding. "Yeah, let's go bowling." He grinned before offering his hand to her, wondering why that seemed so natural.

Claire blinked a few times upon hearing his words, her cheeks warming up as she registered them. She stayed in the living room for a minute or two, until the blush went away, before she made her way to the kitchen. "Well, as long as you don't eat it all, then okay," she mused teasingly before she made her way to the fridge. "Do you want anything to drink?"
    March 12th, 2013 at 03:13am
  • When Jon offered his hand to her, Marley stared at it for a minute to figure out if it was really there to be held. She took hold of it, but blushed and wouldn't look into his face. The realization that be bad just called her adorable made things even better and her heart fluttered. "Ok, let's go!" She said, pulling him outside softly.

Ethan studied Claire for a moment, watching the way she seemed slightly confused and happy. "I wouldn't eat it on you," he said, getting some plates out of the cupboard that he finally found. So, he was slightly a very overbearing house guest... He handed her the first piece of pizza and smiled. "Sure, just a Pepsi or something?" He asked her.
    March 12th, 2013 at 08:27pm
  • Jon blinked before chuckling softly as he followed her. Surprisingly, he felt rather relaxed, just holding her hand like that. He wondered if it was because they were once best friends or if it was just a random relaxing feeling. Shrugging it off, he said, "How about we go to the closest one?"

Claire smiled slightly and nodded. Taking her pizza, she set the plate on the counter before she grabbed him a can of Pepsi and herself a can of Dr. Pepper. She handed his can to him before making her way back to the living room with her drink and plate. "Do you want to watch tv or something?"
    March 12th, 2013 at 08:45pm
  • Marley was lost in the feeling of her hand in Jon's again for a moment that she had to blink at him when she realized he had asked her something. "Oh! Um, sure!" She said, with a smile that tried to hide the blush even though she knew it couldn't be hidden. "Sounds like fun!"

Ethan followed his new-ish but old friend Claire to the living room and smiled at her, taking a seat on the couch beside her. "Sure, we could put in a movie. What's your favorite movie of all time?" He asked her, smiling at her as he noticed how adorable she really was.
