I'm not sure how popular this feature would be, but what if we had an Essays section? We have an Articles section, but essays tend to be much longer, the tone is often much less relaxed, and they have a specific structure.

I would post my essays in the Articles section, but they tend to be very long and don't fit the criteria of an article. I'm not sure if it'd be too much to add to the list of stuff the Mibba staff is working on, but I just thought I'd put it out there for feedback.

People do post their essays as articles. There is no maximum length for articles, just the minimum of 200 words of original content. How do your essays not fit the criteria of articles?

Well, I guess for Mibba they fit the criteria just fine. Length-wise, articles generally aren't 5+ pages long. I just worry that if I post my essay as an article, people are going to click on it expecting it to be short and to the point like most articles are, and they'll be passed over because of the length. If there were an Essay section, people would know going in that it's likely to be lengthy and the structure somewhat impersonal (unless it's a personal essay).

If other people are posting their essays in the Articles section, an Essay section is obviously unneccessary. No problemo. tehe

Well you're right, most people would never write that much for an article for Mibba! XD However I have seen a few rather large articles that were essays, and they were approved.

I don't know what your essays are about, but this article (not an essay) is much longer than the average article, but the person broke it up with pictures, so maybe that's something you can do too? Same for subheadings, if that would work with your essay's content.
If you are really concerned about it being too long for people to read, you could edit it a bit and shorten it/break it into two articles.

About the impersonal thing, articles aren't allowed to be personal anyway. If they are too personal they are declined because they should be a blog.

I think having an essay section might be a good idea, because then (as you said) people are prepared for the length aspect of things as well as the style. But then again, because barely anyone posts essays, and because they do tend to fit nicely into an article category, I don't really know how used it would be. Think

My essays can be up to 7 pages sometimes. They were written for my English class and I'm pretty proud of them, so I thought I'd post them for other people to consider. They had a lot to do with analyzing arguments and they'd be hard to cut down.

Your point about people barely posting essays anyway is a valid point. If that's the case, it could become a pointless addition to Mibba.

This might be a stupid question, but my essays do you mean ones written for school, or? I can understand the want for an essay section, I honestly think it'd be a great addition, I would just be worried about that part being plagiarized more than anything, like people taking essays they read there and handing them in O.o

That might just be my own legitimate fear XD

Either way, I say yes to an Essays section :)

Yeah, essays for school or for whatever purpose. All mine were written for college. And I can see where it might be a concern with plagiarism more than the other sections, but we all risk others plagiarizing when we post on the site. I'd like to think people that come on here are better than that, but you never know!

I like this idea. I feel like essays can be written much differently than articles can. Additionally, persuasive essays might not work very well as articles.

The plagiarism point is a good one, whether they're essays for high school or college. For other articles, no one would really plagiarise a short piece about a movie, or a review of a story here on Mibba. But a formal essay for an assignment...
At least if someone plagiarises here on Mibba we can find out and deal with them appropriately (ban them, I believe), but you wouldn't know if someone plagiarised an essay because they obviously wouldn't repost it.

Also, going on from what takahe.angel said, what if you wrote an essay, posted in on here and then handed it in and was accused to plagiarism by your teacher if they did a quick search of key terms and found it up on this site? There's no way they'd be able to tell that it was definitely you who posted it up.

I see your point. That could be done with anything though. A teacher could search keywords for a story or poem and find it here as well. While it would be more likely with an essay, the risk is still there for the other categories. We would just have to make writers aware when they post in that section that things like that can happen.

There's no way to stop plagiarism from happening with any type of writing. It's a risk we all take when we post online.

Surely the easy way to defeat that is to only post essays once they've been graded and the assessment period for them has passed? I'm at uni and a lot of the stuff I submit for my classes is stuff I then submit to magazines. I was not accused of plagiarism for adapting one of my short stories into a play for a website while it was being graded - granted, it was in my name as opposed to a username, but all I would have had to have done to disprove any accusations would be to show the staff in question my e-mail outbox with the submission email in it. The same as I wasn't accused of plagiarism for selling one of them before I'd received the grade back.

If a teacher found an essay through an internet search because somebody posted it here before using it for an assignment - or it was shown it through an online plagiarism filter such as Turnitin - it would be very easy to prove the essay belonged to you. All it would take would be logging into your Mibba account with them present, and maybe proving it's linked to your email address, to prove you were the original author. Even showing the date the file was originally created on your computer, as that would predate the date it was posted on Mibba would probably follow it. Another way round it would be to simply let the teacher in question know you were posting it online.

Personally, I'm all for the idea.

I've used stories I've posted on here as assignments for creative writing classes, and I've posted writing exercises that I've written for class on here. I also submitted a story I posted on here for my college's writing contest, and I haven't been accused of plagiarism yet. And if I were, all I'd have to do is go to my profile and point out my photograph.

While I don't think essays are popular enough to have their own section, I do think it would be neat if say, the article section were expanded to include essays along with tutorials and reviews. I mean, there are some people who write plays and scripts on here, but there's no separate section for plays. They just post them as stories. I do think that essays should be represented on Mibba though. I have several collections of published essays on various topics in my bookshelf. Maybe if we had a section for nonfiction works, essays would be suitable for that, but since this is a creative writing website, I doubt that's anything we'll ever get.

I really like this idea. The essay section would, of course, be one of the smallest sections on Mibba, but I think many people would benefit from it and enjoy reading/writing the essays. Since the majority of the members on here are in school, posting articles would be a great way to show your writing skills as well as earn points.

It seems to me that it is not enough just to choose a reliable online institution. It is also necessary to submit documents to it and such an introductory statement that would cause delight and awe in everyone. I think that this will not be an easy task for every future student. Therefore, I suggest that you now evaluate the possibilities of writing a statement of purpose writer on order. No matter what direction of study you choose - these authors will be able to emphasize your personality and motivation, and make you want to be accepted in the forefront.

To be honest, for a while now I am helped to complete my writing assignments as I don't have motivation, plus since the pandemic started I can't express myself as easily as I used to. This is why I always look for some tools to write my essays quickly and qualitatively. Last time, I used this one livepaperhelp.com/report-writing-service.html which saved me because it wrote my report in a record time as I forgot about it. I don't know what I would have done without such services.

Yesterday in my college, I was asked to write an essay on a free topic of my choice. I read an article in the newspaper about Morph Radio and decided to write about it. This is a radio, which discusses various topics and issues. People ask their questions, and it is discussed by everyone. There the person who asked the question can choose any answer they like. In evaluating our essays, their correctness is important. Spelling is one of the most important criteria. So for many people proofreading college essays is a lifesaver. It helps to write correctly and not to worry about mistakes.

Hello. If possible, choose an writing service that offers free samples. Check if the writers are native English speakers and have experience in academic writing Help with College Assignments . Also, check to see how long the company has been in business. If the company has a lengthy history of operation, it will be more reliable than a newer service. It's also worth checking if they provide customer service around the clock. Moreover, look for essay writing services with affordable prices and reliable turnaround times.
