And I love OTH. This also reminds me a lot of Gossip Girl (like when Serena left after she "killed" that guy.

CHARACTER PLOTS: Past and Present

Past: Levi Armstrong is eighteen and the son of a powerful businessman father and baker mother. He has one brother, Jonathan, and everybody just loves him. Jonathan goes to Harvard University with a football scholarship and he's everything everyone dreams to be. Levi, on the other hand, can't seem to find his footing in the world, which makes him hate his brother and basically everyone who adores him, which is everyone.

The Last Night: Levi, intending to tell the girl of his dreams that he was in love with her, catches his best friend making out with her. Later, he tells Levi that they've been growing closer since her own accident (look below for that information) and they love each other, which breaks Levi's heart. After the big huge thing that happens, Levi punches his best friend in the face (due to some weird surge of anger after that happened) and he leaves for college hoping to never speak to anyone in that town again (especially his best friend and his brother).

Present: It took a long time, but Levi's mother convinced him to come back to town, especially after the new development was happening. He graduated from some big university (of that state, I guess, whatever it is) and was trying to find a job of his own, but couldn't really find one, so he decided to pop back home for a little bit and see his parents.

Um, plot twist, maybe? But Alex and I were talking about how Levi's father (let's call him Nathaniel) could be one of the investor's/head of the new development. So, he's like apart of the whole thing to destroy the town so people may hate him? One thing about Nathaniel is that he's been in the job for so many years that he doesn't know how to quit. He may not be for the new development, but he can't do anything about it.

SUB-CHARACTERS:

If anything, I'll make it up. But Levi's best friend whom he gave a pretty shiner to and the girl he's in love with would be nice to have. Especially the girl. I was thinking she was broken somehow and Levi and his best friend became her only friends and they also both fell in love with her at the same time.

Though, for the record, since we already established that Levi and Mara are similar/parallels, maybe Levi could fall in love with someone new rather than go back to the other girl like Mara. BUT IDK there's only three of us so far.

So, yeah. :)

(okay none of this stuff is concrete since I haven't run ANYTHING past anyone yet but I'd like your guys opinion on some various ideas)
Informal Character plot:
Past: Julienne Kercher is the one who is supposed to get out of their small town, voted 'most likely to succeed' by her senior class. Despite being smart as a whip and extremely involved in after school activities, she's very quiet and reserved and doesn't have many friends. Her claim to fame is getting unusually high scores on her tests and getting into University of Southern California. She dreams of getting out of the small town and allowing herself to blossom the way she never really could at home. (no matter what, this is what I'm going with, so yeeeeeah haha :'))

Ideas
The Last Night: okay, so this is just an idea. but if we go forward with the shooter idea, I was thinking that Julienne could be friends with him/her and witnessed the shooting, and out of loyalty to him/her chooses not to say anything but it leaves her emotionally scarred, making her more and more inclined to leave and never come back.
IF NOT, we can figure something else out. I like the sex tape idea too. But I really the idea of someone dying more too sadistic to function~

Present: again, just an idea. but perhaps her job as an architect brought her to be contracted by the big company trying to take over the town/part of the town? At any rate, Julienne has been able to blossom freely in her new Californian setting, growing up to be a successful, happy, outgoing young woman. While many of her friends tease her for being single, she doesn't mind it that way. Right now, she's providing for herself and that's what makes her happy. When she receives the job offer for the design job in her home town, she's conflicted. She goes to check it out because it pays so well, but doesn't know if she can keep it up, especially with all the emotions flooding back from being in her hometown again.

EDIT: okay Raveena I just read your post and realized you potentially had the dad working for the company. would it be okay if they worked together? also, I saw that you were thinking that it would maybe be cool if Levi fell in love with someone new - since Julienne doesn't have anyone in her love life as of yet, that could be cute ^-^

Firstly, Levi is hot.
Secondly, okay, so in my character plotline thingy, I had that the guy that Mara was in in love with (let's call him Ryan) was about to say that he loved her back BUT to fit in with your plot line I could change it so that Levi and Ryan are best friends and Ryan loved Mara but he wasn't in love with her. But they both loved the same girl.

And if you wanted Levi and Mara could get it on OR in the present Ryan and said girl aren't together anymore so Mara could go for Ryan. But I'm not fussed.

Yeah, this story is pretty much inspired by OTH/GG/PLL/The OC/other shows I watch since I'm a tab obsessed with TV. I have no life

Can Julienne and Mara be friends? I feel like they're similar in the way that they both want to get out of town and can connect on that level, so their friendship is quite easy if that makes sense? Like irl if you connect with someone on a certain level then the rest is quite easy. I never know if I make sense or not

Death is cool. Seeing all of our comments I think we've all agreed on someone dying.

Edit: Julienne can have Levi, and if it's okay for Mara to get with Ryan? Otherwise we can separate those plotlines but I thought it'd be cool if they were all connected in some way.

If Julienne and Nathaniel worked together, then that would make Levi and Julienne's love all the more "forbidden" and hot ;) I LIKE IT.

I know that you suggested Levi and Mara to become friends during this whole thing and idk if you wanted that Evil Mayor plotline still, but it would push them closer since their fathers would be the "bad guys."

Question, though: Would the death be a murder?

I forgot about the whole friends thing. Cousins could work out - although does that mean that Nathaniel and the mayor are brothers and are secretly working together to bring the town down? DAN THE MAYOR DOES THAT RING A BELL

That's what we have to work out - the death thing. Is it going to be accidental or a murder or?? I had the thought that after that night, the police would know about the body thing but they never found out who did it. But no one can speak up about it because it implicates them all while having this party thing and this party could have drugs/alcohol hence they'd get in trouble and end up on their records therefore banishing them to their town and yada yada ~

Actually, we have to work out what happens at this party in general. Like all of our plotlines meshed together PLUS this whole cray cray like death thing. And then most people do a "Serena" and leave.

Edit: Are Ryan and his girl together or can Mara break them up even though she has a fiancee? Also, I'm really not liking the name Mara so I'm eventually going to change it.

That would be really cool! This reminds me of the burn victim episode of Grey's Anatomy and I shall explain it to you if you don't watch, but basically what happened was was that a woman died in a heavily busy ER and all the doctors were somehow involved in it, and the Chief interviewed each doctor to find out who specifically was responsible for her death, because (since the ER was so busy) that woman was passed from doctor to doctor and no one knew who's patient she was. They all were all involved in it somehow, but eventually, they found out who it was. Could it possibly be something like that? (sorry, talking about shows gets me excited. Especially Grey's haha).

If we do a murder, maybe Julienne could be friends with the murderer (similar to what Kristina wanted)?

I would love for Mara and Julienne to be friends. That would be awesome. I love intertwined plot lines, though they're complicated. if we all stay in touch and talk it through, it should work out just fine! I think I'm behind though - who is Ryan? I looked through all the other posts and couldn't find any character info. Is that Mara's high school love?

and OH okay I like that idea too, the 'accidental' death. but it could not be an accident, muahaha. maybe the special place they go has a river and someone drowns, and while some people think it was an accident, others know it was a murder? or maybe none of them know and come to find out about it later? whatever the case, I'll change my info for that night accordingly.

but like I like that. almost like a 13 Reasons Why kind of thing (if you guys have read that) where everyone somehow has a hand in the death whether they meant to or not.

We can totally do a 13 reasons kind of thing - haven't read but I've heard about it - or everyone thinks it's their faults but it's just one of our faults. Although the person you want to be the killer - do you want them to directly be at fault or be like manslaughter?

Yeah, Ryan is mine but I wasn't sure if we'd established Levi and him being buds or not.

Ryan is Mara's first love. But Ryan was in love with the girl Levi was in love with. But then when everyone comes back (except for Ryan who is going to work in town) Mara accidentally breaks up their relo because Ryan realises that Mara has been the girl for him.

EDIT: I'm changing Mara's name to Samara. We can just call her Mara here but her name is now Samara because Mara is just pissing me off. Idk why.

Okay the girl can be called like Jessica or something and she's this broken girl who had a bad past and so Ryan and Levi became her friend, but without knowing each other's feelings, they both fell in love with her but Ryan got the girl, even though Ryan doesn't want the girl now that Mara has STOLEN HIS HEART. And Levi can still have a thing for Jessica but somehow, Julienne stole his heart.

Poor Jessica. She ends up with no one.

Oh yeah, I see what you mean. Could everyone still be involved though if it was an accident drunken heat of the moment? Like say if there's a 'secret lake' that the party was at and this person had seen all of our main characters during this night, and they all said something to him that could've caused his death but it might've just been a suicide instead? Like for example if Samara gave him a joint and was like, 'yo dude, you need to chillax' but then that joint played a part in his death? If that makes sense?

Like after Samara tells him her feelings he's confused but sticks with Jessica because he's blinded by his love for her and then maybe news of Samara coming back into town triggers these feelings for her that Ryan thought he buried because he did have a childhood crush on her or something.

Jessica can have the fiancee. They can meet at Samara/Ryan's wedding that I've planned in my head. Slutty wedding sex anyone?

So for the death, we're doing the secret party at the river/whatever and the victim has an encounter with each of our main characters which somehow leads to his/her death. This might be a stretch since we haven't covered chapters yet, but could we maybe put it in some Interludes or whatever they're called? Like obviously we'd each write our own character's chapter, but then occasionally, we could have an Interlude 1, Interlude 2 etc, etc and it would be in the point of view of the victim encountering a main character. Like Interlude 1 could be his encounter with Samara, Interlude 2 could be his encounter with Levi, etc?

EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think this'll work...

I just suddenly thought this but uh
I think, since Samara and Levi are cousins, that they should either 1. have the same last name or 2. have the mayor be the brother of Levi's mother or something of that nature xD

Are we making things too complicated here? Should the death just be someone died? Because as well as this pressure that we all seem to have on our characters, our personal problems and then this town shutting down, do you think it might be too much?

Wait. So with this interlude thing it'd be our chapter but then in the next chapter the victim would have their interlude of what happened with said character? And then the next chapter is whoever's next in the posting thing. This is so PLL. But in book form. And better, obviously

Another option for the interludes could be a flashback in our character's chapter showing their involvement.

Samara Armstrong has a nice ring to it. Well, it sounds better than Parker, anyways.
