Oh, I have another lame question: What happens to a contest if no one wants to claim it to judge it??

That's not a lame question at all! We add it to our own staff list after a couple of weeks and work on it together or whoever is available will host it.

I'll take the Original Fiction and Fanfiction One Shot contest. :)

With permission of nearly witches. I have revived Project Potter and am ready for that thread to be locked.

If the new link can be added to the first post and as a comment on the last page, that would be swell!

My other contest, Harry Potter: Good vs Evil is also ready to be locked as the two are being combined.

If there is a contest you'd like to revive but you don't agree with one of the rules, can you change it?

For example, I would like to revive the Criminal One Shot Contest but it says that you can send entries via PM but I would prefer the entries to be sent in the thread.

Of course. As you'd be the new host, you can alter rules like that for your convenience. Like, if the contest you were reviving accepted NC-17 stories and hadn't had one submitted before being put up for revival, you could alter it so that only stories rated R and below could be entered.

Is there some way to find active contests to participate in? It's pretty confusing to use the forum- I found the That One Story contest, which apparently hasn't been approved for revival, so I don't want to write anything for it. And I clicked on a couple of claimed contests that are listed above, which are already over.

Currently most of the contests in the Claimed list are just being taken over for judging, which means that someone is judging the old contest and then closing it off. Summer Is Here is the only contest currently on the list that is open for entries. Besides that, the contests on the first page of the forum that are active and accepting entries are here, here, here, and here.

One way to tell if a contest is open or not is to go to the forum and anything that says "Awaiting revival" is most likely closed, meaning it isn't accepting entries.
