The Revolution

Xhex considered her words, gaze searching hers. Standing he stepped closer to Elizabeth, one hand lifting to press lightly against her cheek. He was a bit surprised that the touch felt... right. Strange, but right. His other arm wrapped around her waist and brought her closer. He leaned his face in to hers, hesitating for one brief moment before sealing their lips together. He wanted to see if she truly would kiss him... and if this was all true maybe it would bring his apparently missing memories back.

It took Elizabeth a moment until she started kissing Xhex back. Normally there would be no hesitation but this wasn't exactly Xhex anymore... Though still she was hopeful it would be again. Elizabeth laid her hands against his chest softly, kissing him lovingly. After a few moments she pulled away and looked up into her eyes. There was some hope there and she wished that he would come back to her.

Xhex couldn't deny that he enjoyed kissing her... because he did, but he still didn't remember a damn thing about her, "I'm sorry," he whispered, surprisingly feeling pain that he hadn't, "but I've got nothing." He stepped back even though he didn't want to, giving her some space, "Look, I hate that this is all happening to you. I'm sure you're a great girl who doesn't deserve it, but I don't know what to tell you now"

Elizabeth seemed to deflate a bit. She had really been hoping... But there were other ways to make people remember. "Don't tell me anything is there is nothing to tell. Out of everything just please don't lie to me." Elizabeth told him as she wrapped her arms around herself. Elizabeth turned her head, glancing at the clock. "We should both sleep. I'll be back in the morning." Elizabeth left the room, leaving the laptop and the papers she brought in filled with their memories.

Xhex watched Elizabeth leave and sighed, taking a seat again. He wasn't planning on lying to Elizabeth - she probably had that way too often anyway. He glanced at all the papers and the computer. Why the hell not? he thought, picking the papers up and reading through them. It seemed like there had been a lot going on between them... a lot that was probably killing her that he couldn't remember.

Elizabeth started sobbing once she was a few doors away from the room. She brought her hand to her lips. She had wanted him to remember! Elizabeth needed him to remember. She needed Xhex back. Once she was in bed Elizabeth took a while before she could finally head off to bed.

The next day Xhex made his way out of the bedroom. He didn't actually know what he was supposed to do, but since he did recognize this place as the home he'd grown up in. He knew where he was going... but then he froze, gaze narrowing a little as he looked the opposite way down the hall. There was something about that direction... something about someone he cared for feeling safe and keeping it secret... he gave a shrug and headed back to the direction he was originally going in.

Elizabeth woke up in the morning and got herself ready for the day. Since they still had the interview that day she looked especially nice. Once she had eaten too she made her way to where Xhex apparently was. She had to tell him about their life and the interview. Hopefully he would go along with this. She needed to do this for her country.

Moving on instinct Xhex had found himself standing awkwardly in the kitchen. He didn't move, didn't say anything, just stared at the cook. Eventually he walked to the counter and began making breakfast, putting together pancakes... not knowing why he did it. When Elizabeth walked in he looked up, meeting her gaze, feeling oddly embarrassed.

Elizabeth headed into the kitchen, freezing a bit when she saw him making breakfast. The cook stopped what he was doing and looked at the princess softly. He knew that this was going to be hard on her and he wanted to be there for her. Though for now Elizabeth needed to deal with Xhex herself. She cleared her throat a bit before speaking. "Uh...What are you doing?" She asked him hesitantly. He didn't remember her so why was he cooking?

Xhex looked down at the bowl of batter before him, shaking his head, "I don't know... It just... Felt right." He looked up at Elizabeth, "Am I not supposed to be here?"

"You can be in here." Elizabeth told him softly. This was just not what she had been expecting. Though in the end it was okay. At least he was still in his old habits. Surely that was a good thing. "I need to talk to you about today though." Elizabeth told him. "There are some....things going on that you need to be a part of."

Xhex nodded, setting the batter off to the side before turning fully to Elizabeth, "Where would you like to talk?" He asked, assuming that she wouldn't want anyone else to hear... even if it felt okay for the cook to be there, "What's going on today?" He asked with a frown.

Elizabeth didn't pay any attention to cook which was unusual for her. Though he didn't pay it any mind. She was under a lot of stress at the moment. "We can talk here." She told him before getting right to the point. "Today there is an interview about our relationship and I need you to patend like nothing happened. Like we are a happily engaged couple and everything is alright."

Xhex stared at her in silence for a little bit before sighing, "Elizabeth... Princess... I don't... I don't know if this is going to be such a good idea. What happens when they find us out? Can't we just... cancel it or something?" He ran a hand roughly through his hair, "Because I don't think I'll be able to do this.

Elizabeth was quiet for a moment before cotinuong on. "This is what we need to do until we have a better plan. We just need to go on like everything is normal. This won't last long. But it would be more suspicious if we cancel this interview. Plus the country is already suspicious of our relationship. It's not something that I want to get blown out of proportion." She sighed. "I don't want to do this either but ito the best option I have."

Xhex sighed as he tried to figure out another way... but he came up blank. So he nodded, "Alright. What is it I have to do exactly? Do I have to say anything? Do anything?" He shrugged, "I haven't... I haven't done anything but fight in the pits for years... as far as I can remember."

"There will be expectations of you but if you follow my lead for the most part everything should be okay." Elizabeth told him. "I'll need to tell you our story until you can actually remember most of it. We'll need to act like a couple too."

Xhex nodded, "Alright, but just know that this is... weird for me." He shrugged, "I wasn't expecting the Princess to say all these things to me... or to have any feeling aside from hatred for me." He frowned a little in thought, "Your dad said that you'd purchased me... I was wondering why you chose me from all the others."

"I understand. In the beginning it was odd for both of us that we didn't continually hate it each other. But i suppose what you are feeling now is different." Elizabeth let out a small sigh. Right now she was trying to keep it all together. Though she knew she couldn't break down until after the interview. "I never wanted a vampire servant. To me that was horrible and at the time I was very frightened of vampires-for good reasons. So I picked the scariest and strongest looking one there. In hopes that you wouke escape or be disobedient and my father would send you back. I was just trying to find a way out of dealing with vampires at all. It certainly was not love, like or even nothingness at first sight. We hated each other at the beginning before we even knew anything about the other."
