The Revolution

Noticing where the other personal slaves were Xhex sat beside Elizabeth. he kept his back straight and his mouth shut. He should probably keep his eyes closed, but he wanted to know what was expected of him, so he watched the other slaves at the table. He also watched the humans. They seemed to completely ignore their slaves unless they needed something. He hated this. Hated that they just ignored them and expected them to do whatever they wanted.

Elizabeth had a good conversation with her parents while they ate. They talked about how things were going for everyone before heading onto topics of the country and of Elizabeth's lessons so she could one day rule. After dinner, Elizabeth and her parents headed to the room next door so that they could relax and talk some more. This also gave the two vampires time to eat. Another servant came out with two blood bags, setting one down in front of Xhex. It had even been warmed to simulate human temperature. There wasn't a lot of blood. Just enough so Xhex would be satisfied and to live. Not enough to overpower the humans though. This was Xhex chance to eat before they went off to the forest.

Xhex sat silently through the dinner, taking in all the information he could. Once all the humans left and there was a blood bag in front of him he continued to sit there, just staring at the bag as the other vampire quickly ate. He hated this. Hated having to be treated like a child... or rabid dog. With a sigh he lifted the bag and punctured the thick plastic with his fangs. He drank quickly, emptying the small amount before he could actually quench his hunger. Once the empty bag was removed he continued to sit there, not sure where to go from here and the other slave wasn't a lot of help having already disappeared.

Elizabeth excused herself from her family's presence, saying that she wished to go for a ride. Once she left, she headed upstairs and quickly changed into her riding clothes. From there Elizabeth headed downstairs and went into the dinning room, knowing that Xhex was probably in there. "I am ready to go." She said as she walked into the room. There were a few servants in the room, cleaning up. Once she made eye contact with Xhex, Elizabeth nodded to him before turning around and heading out to the stables.

Xhex looked up as Elizabeth came in, then stood to follow her. Unfortunately he'd forgotten how horses tended to act around vampires, especially him. Once they walked into the barn the horses began kicking in their stalls and tossing their heads, snorting in either fear or fury. He sighed, turning to look at Elizabeth, "I'm sorry... if you don't have a horse that will let me ride I can try running beside you." It was a chance. With the little blood they gave he couldn't run as fast or far as he normally could.

Elizabeth pulled her horse out of the stables, trying to keep her calm as they passed by Xhex. She was a pure white horse named Azi. "Actually I have something for you." Elizabeth said as she tied a small bag to Azi's saddle. "Though you will need to wait until we get out into the forest. It will just be a short run." Elizabeth held onto the reigns tightly before motioning Xhex over to her. "First Azi needs to meet you and get used to you. I don't want her panicking during my ride." Elizabeth didn't want to get bucked off her own horse.

Xhex nodded to Elizabeth, wondering what she had planned. Taking a deep breath Xhex walked forward. Azi balked the closer her came, but eventually she settled. She did nip him, but it was more of a test to see what he would do. Once she realized he wasn't going to hurt her Azi fully settled and began ignoring him. At that point he turned to Elizabeth, "Well. That was easy. Now what?"

"Follow me." Elizabeth said with a little smile. She got onto her horse, making sure she was really on before heading into the forest. They only needed to get far enough in where no one would be. After a few minutes of riding, they were deep into the forest. Elizabeth slowed her horse down until they were at a full stop. Elizabeth reached down into the bag she brought and pulled out a bag of blood. Her nose wrinkled and there was a disgusted look on her face. Elizabeth reached down, handing it to him. "I thought that you would need more energy.....I mean since we're doing this and helping others......please take it I really don't want to hold this blood anymore."

Xhex stared at the bag as she held it out, reaching for it slowly before he felt the full weight of it in his palm, "You brought me more?" His eyes lifted to hers, "Thanks. If it makes you feel better you can turn your head." With that said he punctured the plastic again. This one wasn't as warm as his last bag, but the power that filled him was worth it. The thought of overpowering Elizabeth and her family crossed his mind, but he knew it was wrong. He needed her trust... so he set the bag down and nodded at her, "Okay, let's go."

Elizabeth looked away as he drank, unable to handle watching it. Seeing blood made her quesy. When she grabbed the bag from the cooler and hid it under her shirt, she had been close to throwing up. Once Xhex finished, Elizabeth looked over at him. She cleared her throat before pulling lightly on the reigns. Azi then ran towards the hideout. A bit later they were in front of a large, old house. It was obviously abandon and it looked like it was about to crumble. Even so it was sturdy and could last for years. Elizabeth slipped off of the horse, tying Azi up to the old fence. "Well we're here." She murmured.

Xhex had run alongside Azi, feeling better then he'd ever had before. He'd used to love running, used to enjoy the speed. He hadn't had the chance in so long and - even though he could have gone a lot faster and just disappeared on her, he stayed next to Elizabeth. Once they reached the place he stopped - not even winded - and helped her off her horse, his hands at her waist to brace her. Once she was steady on the ground he stepped back and looked around, "Not too close that they'll be noticed, but also not too far away that I can't get here if there's an emergency."

Elizabeth on the other hand thought that it was a bit too close to her house. Though she knew that there wasn't much she could do about that at the moment. "Come inside with me." She said before walking to the house. She opened the old, creaky door before going inside. It was extremely dark because there were no lights inside. Though Elizabeth picked uo the latern she had left in there last time. She turned it on, showing the grand room. There was a large staircase that split in the middle, going two different ways. To the right there was a large parlor. To the right was the dinning room.

Xhex followed her silently, taking in the dark house, "I'm going to have to install plumbing and electricity, but this isn't too bad. Dusty, but now bad." He turned to Elizabeth, "How many will this place house?" He walked over to the staircase, "Do we need to repair any of the flooring?" Then to the dinning room, "Is there a working fridge?" He walked around, checking out each room before turning back to Elizabeth, "It needs work, but I think I can figure a few things out."

"I don't know how many people we can fit in this house but I know it's a lot. No there is no fridge but at least uo can leave the flooring alone." Elizabeth glanced around as a sudden thought came to her. "Where are you going to get the blood to feed all of them?" She was beginning to think at this wasn't going to be possible anymore. "How are we even going to get all those vampires out without getting caught?"

Xhex took a deep breath before turning back to her, "You can take part of my share to them..." he sighed, "And, while animal blood isn't as healthy as human, they can eat off the wildlife here." He met her gaze, "Vampires shouldn't kill the creature they're feeding from. It will actually poison the blood if they do." he shook his head, "the proper way for us to feed is to feed once a week off a fresh vein. We don't kill, just take enough to stay alive." He glanced out the window at the forest, "So they won't harm the wildlife population much."

Elizabeth let out a small sigh before shaking her head. "You can't live on an even smaller amount of blood. It would be too difficult especially with what you're planning on doing." She then looked away and glanced out of the window. "There are a lot of animals here. I know they'll be able to find something. Though they will heed to be careful about it."

Xhex turned to her, "I'll be fine. For now though, we need to plan." He walked up, "I need to clean this place up, but I know your father will have an issue with me being away from you." He stopped when he was standing right in front of her, "How often does your father keep tabs on you? Are you able to just disappear and hang out here for a few hours while I clean?"

Elizabeth shook her head at him but she wasn't going to argue about it with him at the moment. There was no point to fight with him at the time. So she moved onto the next thing. "Yes I can disappear for a few hours. He keeps close tabs on me but when I want to disappear I do. Though it can't be for too long otherwise he'll panic."

Xhex nodded, "Good. We want to keep you to your normal routine as much as possible." He looked around them, "It's not much, but it's going to be a lot better then what they have now." He turned and met her gaze with a smile, "Thank you, for helping me with this."

Elizabeth glanced over at him before giving him a soft smile back. "Your welcome. I just hope that it does help." She didn't want others to live through the hell that she did. Though at the same time she was worried about what they were planning on doing once they were out.
