    Hello, Mibbians.

The staff has been thinking about launching Mibba's first site-wide group story next month. Like the novel "Who Done It?" - written by a bunch of popular YA novelists - this group story will be a murder/crime mystery. Each participant will either be a witness or suspect. Witnesses will contribute their version of the events that happened and suspects will provide readers with their alibi and plead their innocence.

As we start planning the logistics of how a site-wide story will work, we'd like Mibbians to submit their ideas for possible plots (crimes or murders) we can use. If you've got an idea you'd like to share, just post it here. Once we've gathered enough plot ideas, we'll post a poll where Mibbians can make the final decision on which one we'll be using.

This sounds great and such a wonderful idea. Perhaps a murder/crime that involves the government or some form of such? I think that would be interesting. One done by the unlikeliest of suspects. (like a kid or something of the sort)

Oh wow, this is an amazing idea. I can't think of any ideas though. Think The murder mystery my drama group did at school was about a business trip on a cruise ship.

I'm so on board for this!!

Maybe there's recently been a series of murders in a fifty mile radius of where a previous ring of murders have taken place. The police believe they have the perp but need to question every single person before they pin who had committed the crime. However maybe as the interrogations go along, the police actually have no idea who did it or if it was even one person at all. That maybe a group of people did it.

And BAM the story unfolds (:

This sounds so cool! I think it would be fun. I would personally love to be a witness Smile

And if you're looking for ideas, maybe look into Criminal Minds? Not use their plots straight out, but borrow ideas. The plotlines of the shows are usually dark and out there, and I think the show would be perfect for inspiration :)

    This sounds so great :D
I'd love to be a suspect!! What if it surrounds conspiracy of some sort, what if it had something to do with things like Area 51 or the Bermuda Triangle?? Maybe the murders committed by a group of people were staged to look like they had something to with the above two things I mentioned?
Or gang crime, but personally I think my first idea was more original haha :D

The murder mystery I participated in was hollywood party themed; like, centering around an upcoming movie and a boy band where a man had to choose between the movie and the band and an actress being considered for the lead refused to do the movie without him. You could use a site like nightofmystery.com for ideas. I definitely want in on this.

    This sounds awesome!

Maybe it could be some kind of crazy impossible crime/murder with a robbery that seems like it would need a group of criminals to complete the job but maybe it was only one person who convinced the group to vouch for him/her and in the end the person who had actually done the crime all by himself/herself, found a way to get all of the criminals who gave a cover story new fake identities and they went of to the Caymans or some foreign country with millions from the crime. Just tossing around ideas tehe

I just have one question: is this going to have an actual plot line that each author is expected to follow, or will it just be everyone trying to claim their innocence like it was in the "Who Done It?" book, with no real hook or clues to lead you to figure it out? Because that just got so repetitive to me...

I think the story line should include a disappearance, in a way that means the victim might still be out there somewhere. It adds another point to argue, the someone murdered them, that it could be an accident, or that the person doesn't want to be found.

This is actually pretty cool. I think the murder to be like mafia style which leads the police to think a rival was the person that did it but it's a completely different person; a person no one would have thought of.

You should do a suspected suicide scene at a high school party that got out of hand that ends up as a murder. Basically like every thinks a girl committed suicide because it looks like she jumped off of the roof but the forensic specialist find hand marks on her throat which leads them to believe she may have been thrown off of the roof. Then they have interview the teens that were upstairs during the time at which the girl was murdered.
