So on Monday I'm going to start the water diet. I've been wanting to lose weight for a while now (I'm about 5' and I weigh 115) and I think this is one I could actually stick to.

    Here's the diet plan

Do you think I could do it and get the desired results? I want to lose at least 15 pounds. I'd like to hear from people who have actually been on the water diet, and please no anorexic/you need help comments. It is my body and I will do what I want with it, I'm looking for advice on the diet, not how to be body-positive.

I have been on the water diet, but I really wouldn't recommend it. But like you said: it's your body and your choice, and I am not going to judge your decision in any way(:
The reason I don't recommend it is that you can easily get it all wrong, and then it becomes unhealthy and even dangerous. So, before the diet you should remember a few things.
    1. Only diet for a short period of time, such as 5 days or a week. It is not supposed to become permanent and/ or dangerous.
    2. Make a plan of what you eat. You can easily forget to eat when you focus on drinking water.
    3. Remember to drink the suggested amount but do not over-do it. It can be dangerous and cause for example lack of salts.
Just keep those in mind and it should go well.

I felt a bit sick during the first day and pretty hungry all the time, as I often forgot to eat anything and ended up only drinking water. Your body still needs sugar, salts and vitamins in order to function and work properly.

After the diet it's too easy to gain back what you've just lost with hard work so don't start eating junk food etc. right away after the diet, because your body will get used to the increased amount of fluids and light food. It would be good to drink a bit more than necessary during the first days after the diet, just to give your body a bit time to adjust.

This sounds incredibly unhealthy, and it seems more like an extended cleanse as opposed to an actual sustainable diet. I did a 3-day cleanse before I started a new workout regimen, and by the third day, I was incredibly weak, and this cleanse included protein shakes and salads, not just drinking water and eating apples/baby/carrots/whatever that's outlined in the water diet, so I can't even begin to imagine how weak one would become after following this water diet for an entire week.

I definitely don't think you'd lose your desired amount of weight because you'd be too weak on this diet to move/burn any calories, so it would just defeat the purpose.

If you're looking for a diet plan to follow, I would suggest trying out the Dash Diet because it doesn't just require you to starve yourself, it actually teaches you how to eat right so you'll develop better eating habits and not just lose weight to put it back on. I think, on average, the amount of weight lost after following the first two weeks of the Dash Diet was around 7 lbs, plus it's affordable because it's just buying vegetables, lean proteins, and other foods that could be found in any grocery store.

The reason people lose weight during these kind of diets (heavily restrictive diets) is because most carbohydrates are left out. The body goes into emergency energy mode (ketosis) and burns fat. However, once you're off the diet, carbs aren't so out of the picture and you add the weight right back on.

I've lived my life being taught by my parents that carbs=fat so I would love to say a diet like this works, but what it really does is starve your body of the things it needs most and makes you feel week.

One round with the diet probably wouldn't get rid of all fifteen pounds.
