She had no problem with him driving the car since it gave her more time to think anyway. Veronica let her eyes slide over him to trying to making small talk between the two of them. Why did he care what had gotten her into the police force? "Everyone in my family goes into the police force. Simple as that." She replied not caring to ask the question back since it didn't interest her to know why. She would be on her best behavior but definitely wouldn't become friends with a blood bag.

Nick sighed since his stomach was completely empty and she wasn't cooking for him in the first place. "I'm hungry so you better make something. I'm your guest." He pointed out as he let his hand settle onto her arm in a tight grip hold. From here, his mood was turning sour again since it didn't seem like she cared about him. Emma only cared about herself and could care less about what happened to him. Whether he starved to death or committed suicide was none of her concern.

Sam was at least trying to make this work. It was stupid for them to continue fighting over all of this when they had to maintain a partnership. It wasnt right! How could a vampire and a human be a partnership? Whoever had thought of it was crazy - but he was trying to be a team player. As she answered, he chuckled. "You really don't like me, do you?" He asked, judging by the way she had seemed so nasty with him.

Emma bit her lip, chewing on it lightly as she had to deal with the fear of Nick getting angry at her. "I'm sorry - I thought you would just sleep..." She said softly as she blushed and sighed in a little pain as he held a tight grip on her arm. "I thought you would be more mad at me if i woke you up - you can have the pork chop... I'll make Mac and cheese for myself." She sighed, getting out the box from the pantry as she pulled away from his grip.

She shrugged slightly since she never really disliked one human more than another. It was a dislike in general for their species. "You hate vampires so why should I like humans?" Veronica questioned not seeing where he was trying to go with the point. She couldn't understand why he was trying to get them to be friendly. He had refused the partnership in the beginning and she thought that he felt the same way.

Nick let out a frustrated sigh since she was always thinking about herself. "Always! All the time you think about what you want and don't care about anyone else!" He yelled at her as he tightened his grip on her arm as she tried to move away. "I am sure you're going to be mad at me for taking your precious pork chop. Then, I am never going to hear the end of it!" Taking his hand on her arm, Nick shoved her away before stalking back into the living room.

Sam rolled his eyes. He was trying...really hard...to make this work. He had a lot to deal with with this whole vampire thing and he really didn't like it. He wouldn't try to hide his anger for her either then. "You make a valid point - you don't have to like me...you just have to stay out of my way, and we'll get along just fine for the remainder of this case!" He threatened with narrowed eyes.

Emma let out a squeal for his tightening grip and she looked at him in pain. "I wasn't thinking about me - I was just going to let you have the fucking pork chop and I would make something else!" She argued after she had fallen to the ground. She was sick of that crap. Why couldn't he just understand that she was doing this for him, not always for her?

"And you can stay out of mine." Veronica stated as she stepped into the undercover car not wanting to talk anymore. They had drawn a clear line between them that obviously said that they weren't friends. Good, that was the way she wanted it. She was used to working along and wasn't about to to rely on someone now - let alone a human.

He stopped midway and turned back around to stop back to her on the ground. "Cause I know you're gonna be a bitch about it later! Oh, you don't care about me. Oh, you don't share your feelings with me. Anything you can complain about just to get on my nerves!" Nick couldn't help himself as he kicked her with all of his force. He could care less if she felt pain since he wanted her to feel the anger that she had caused.

Sam smirked as they got into the car and rolled his eyes. They were not going to get along, he was sure of it. Maybe it was better that way - a human and a vampire were not supposed to have to work together and this would only prove it more. He didn't say anything more but only sped out of the parking lot with a smirk on his face.

Emma let out a squeal when he kicked her and she shook her head, coughing a little from the force. "No, Nick! It's not like I'm complaining to piss you off!" She sat up slightly and shook her head, still writhing in pain. Luckily it hadn't been a sensitive spot like the stomach... That would've been painful. "I was just saying I'd give you what you wanted! Why are you even here if you only think that?"

She refused to make eye constant and just stared out of the window watching the scenery as it passed by. As they got into the worse parts of town, she knew that they had to be nearing the site where the crime had taken place. The silence that took place in the car was comfortable for her - something that she was used to. Veronica sighed knowing that this was going to be a long case.

"Yeah, you are! Stop lying! Always lying!" His frustration with her continued to be built up which just resulted in multiple kicks. Nick tried to hit wherever he could - legs, arms, and back. "I don't even know why you're still my girlfriend either. Maybe I was just trying to give you a second chance to change your ways." Nick wasn't sure at all why they were even together since they were just way too different.

Sam was slightly less comfortable in the silence, but he didn't try to change it. There was nothing he could do, since he didn't get along with Veronica anyway, and he wasnt making an effort to get along with her. He drove into the darker parts of down with some success. "So - where should we start?" He asked as he arrived on scene. "Guess there weren't any witnesses! They would probably all be dead!" He joked.

Emma tried to stop him, but she couldn't get away. All she could do was sob and she slid away from him with tears in her eyes. "I do care about you - if you can't see that, you're blind!" She said in a rushed, crying tone. "But whatever - we're done... I can't do this anymore - I can't be accused of hating you and trying to annoy you."

Stepping out of the car, it was clear that the scene had been pointed out by the tape as well as to other officers surrounding the area. "With whatever we find first." Veronica walked over to the scene before showing her badge to one of the officers who then let her in. "I bet someone just isn't saying anything. There probably is a witness." She was too focused on the case to realize that he had just been joking about it.

"Now you're trying to make me feel bad. Trying to get some sympathy is no longer going to work." Nick stated not feeling the least bit of remorse for the damage that he had done to her body. He felt rage build up inside of him when she said that this was over with. "Fine! I couldn't put up with you either anyway. You're going to grow to be alone when you get older. No one can put up with your bullshit." He then stormed out of the house before getting into his car again. He wasn't sure where he was going to stay for the night but the worst thing would end up being the back of the car.

Sam rolled his eyes at her seriousness. She needed to learn to just go with the flow - not get so caught up in it. "Veronica - that is called sarcasm, my dear! You should really take a lesson in that..." He explained and then rolled his eyes with a chuckle. He started to look around the area with a careful eye, seeing if the forensic teams had missed anything that might be important.

Emma sat up - but honestly, she couldn't do this... She couldn't be abused like this anymore. Why he didn't understand that she had never done anything to hurt him - and he had done just about everything - she didn't know, but she thought good riddance. She didn't need a guy who was so scared to accept the fact that she had feelings for him. Her heart hurt, but it would be okay... She knew he wasn't right - he was the crazy one, not her.

She refused to make eye contact with him as he tried to make the air around the crime scene lighter. He definitely acted like a child in her eyes - making jokes when they needed to focus on the case. Veronica's eyes grazed over the scene but stopped to look at the numbers that pointed out the evidence that had already been found. It really did look like a regular scene for a vampire unable to keep his urges from feeding from a human. There was blood everywhere but nothing else really stood out over than the giant hints.

Nick continued to drive down the street running through stop signs, red lights, and other incoming traffic. It really seemed like he had a death wish as he drove recklessly through the streets of the town. He ignored the honks and it was surprising that there hadn't been a police car on his tail yet. There was no place for him to be - not home, not his ex-girlfriend's, and he didn't have a cent to his name. Nick pulled into the local diner's parking lot and stopped the car to stay there for the night. It seemed like he had no choice but to sleep in the car for the night.

Sam knew that she wasnt enjoying him. Maybe that was the fun of it. He didn't want to be around her - so he would annoy the shit out of her until she finally broke down. "Wow, this looks completely normal!" He said angrily. "This doesn't look like gang activity... I think it just looks like nothing out of the ordinary!" He rolled his eyes and frowned.

She frowned at him knowing that the comment was directed towards her since she had made the hypothesis before. "Well if you looked just as much as you talked, I am sure we would have found something else by now." Veronica stated since she was never a patient person especially since Sam was looking down upon her. She could probably snap his neck in half without a second thought and he had to realize that. Taunting a vampire was never a good idea for another party.

[Yup, that would probably be the next step.]

Sam rolled his eyes about her. Of course Veronica was going to be overly touchy about all of this - and he really just wanted to get rid of her and handle this all on his own. He didn't need a parter - especially not a woman vampire one. "Fine, you look over here and I'll look over there!" He argued. As he was walking away from her, he groaned under his breath and shook his head. "That way we won't kill each other - cuz I can't stand you!" He growled under his breath.

Emma didn't know what to do. She was incredibly nervous as she sat there, listening to comforting music as she waited for the hopefully negative sign on the pregnancy test. Those were the longest few moments of her life. Once - she had slept with him once when he had been too abusive to say no to, and she didn't know what she would do if she was pregnant. And there it was... The little plus sign to indicate that she was pregnant. It was the same as the previous six that she had taken. She needed to tell him...

"Yeah. I could say the same about you." She countered but knew that they weren't going to go anywhere with them fighting like this. It wasn't her fault though - he just irked her whenever he opened his mouth. Veronica kneeled down near one of the blood spatters since it had been a trail that led behind the building. The forensic team had specifically marked each dot as they became progressively bigger and didn't see where they were going with the scene.

Nick sat at home in his room with the door securely locked behind him. It was one of the few times that he was actually allowed inside of the house. His life was pretty miserable and he had gotten accustomed to smoking as well as using drugs every now and then. It was the only thing that he could do to get rid of his anger now that she was no longer around.

Sam rolled his eyes. He really didn't want to have to deal with her - but he knew he wasn't getting out of this. He looked over the scene. Of course he had taken the side with less evidence - and hell, he had wished that he could've seen more on the good side! "Find anything good over there?!" He asked angrily. He wanted to see the good stuff, not just the outskirts. He needed to be part of it.

Emma had broken down and cried. She didn't know what else to do... Her boyfriend had been abusive and now she had no one! She would probably be kicked out, and she had nowhere to go. How had she gotten mixed up with Nick when he was so much trouble? Either way, she sighed.. He needed to know. She grabbed her car keys, of a car she had only just bought, and sighed as she drove over to his house. She pulled into his driveway and knocked harshly on his door like he had once done.

"I can hear you. You don't have to yell." She replied back since the yell hurt her sensitive ears as she stood from her spot. With a sigh, Veronica looked around the scene before giving a slight shrug. "Not really. Did you find something on your side?" She asked him since there really wasn't much unless she was missing something. How she wished that she had something to drink at that moment.

He frowned hearing the harsh knocking at his door that was probably his mother coming home. Nick wasn't in the mood to hear another lecture about how he should be going to college instead of being home. Opening the door, he was surprised to see that it was Emma,"What do you want? I thought we made it clear that we didn't want see each other anymore."

Sam rolled his eyes at her response. Like he cared. He was a human with normal ears - so he would reply and yell just like he always did. It was his way and she certainly wasn't changing that about him - not when he hoped this would be over and done with, and they could go their own ways. "Nothing - well, nothing out the ordinary, like I said!" He argued, but in a softer, breathier tone. He hoped to annoy her either way - because honestly, he liked watching her eyes burn with anger.

Emma leaned against the door casually and then trembled a little when he opened the door. He terrified her... He made her want to run away - but he needed to know. He needed some responsibility! "I... I know." She said in a weak voice and ran a hand through her hair. "I get it - but we really need to talk... May I come in?"

She covered her ears slightly at the volume of the voice and continued to glare at the man. How was she going to survive this investigation with a loud-mouthed, happy-go-lucky human? "It was your idea to drive down here in the first place. We wasted time instead of actually going somewhere with the case. We should be back at the morgue trying to identify the bodies to get some leads." Veronica huffed back as she placed her hands on her hips to show how much he aggravated her.

"We can talk right here." Nick said refusing entry into his house since she had no place in there anyway. How could she just waltz right back into his life after that happened? He didn't want any of part of her anymore and he was going to make that clear. "You have a minute before I slam this door in your face. Got it? I am doing you a favor."

Sam cracked his knuckles and shrugged lightly. He didn't care if she was angry - maybe she would lose her temper and she could drain his blood and end his misery! He hated this. "We needed some fresh air anyways!" He said with a wink and then shrugged. "Fine - we can go back if that's what you think is necessary." He started to go back to the car, rolling his eyes slightly. "Just kill me - end me misery and just kill me." He teased.

Emma crossed her arms. She knew all of this was going to be hard to take, but she would do what she needed to do. He needed to at least know that she was bringing his first child into the world! Maybe he would finally shape up! "Fine - I'm pregnant!" She answered and then turned around, started to head back off of the porch, before stopping and looking at him from a distance. "And don't you dare accuse me of having someone else's baby - you're the only guy that I've been with - because I cared about you. If you can't accept that, that's your fault."
