Alison looked down at the map in her hands pressed against the steering wheel, as the radio sang some country song. It was the only thing that didn't sound like it was going through a meat grinder of static. Alison bit her lip, her pony tail blowing in the wind of her open window. Alison bit her lip harder, she was so completely lost. Alison looked around shoving her map to the side watching it fly out the window and she cursed. Now she was never going to get out of little now where Oklahoma. Alison was driving through the little road in the middle of a corn maze and finally she saw someone. "Oh thank the heavens." she whispered to herself and pulled in seeing him. Alison got out of the expensive car and then shut the door. She fixed her cloths and walked over to the man. "Excuse me."

Keith was in the family store singing a song that just popped onto the radio. He couldn't help remembering that girl from high school. She had left to soon. He had sworn he would marry her one day. But she left for college telling him only the night before she left. Keith sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He was in the back picking up a box and headed out to the front. After this he had to head to the inn and clean up the front yard. Now that pop was gone there was always so much to do and Jackson didn't help here nearly enough. Keith walked out and set the box down as he looked up to see his mama trying to hang something. "Mama!"

Jackson was outside in the corn fields, checking their family crops. Out of all the duties that he and his brother, Keith, had to do, checking on the crops was one that Jackson personally decided to be a duty for him. Ever since their papa died, things for the Miller boys have been busy, and some times Jackson didn't know if he was cut out to be a big help on the family's farm like his brother. As he walked down, looking at the corn crops, Jackson noticed someone pulling in. Right away, he started to wonder who it was, considering the fact that he didn't personal know anyone who drove an expensive little car like that. When he saw a woman emerge from it, he carefully paid attention to her face, trying to figure out who she was and what she was doing here. "Yes ma'am?" He said to the woman. "Can I help you with something?' He asked gently, looking at her. As he stood there, waiting for her to respond, he could tell right away that she wasn't from around here and was more than likely lost.

Hailey had just finished bringing in the last box from her F-120 pick up into her new apartment. When she set the box down in the middle of her new apartment, she just stood there for a moment, taking in the new area. She couldn't believe it, she was finally on her own once again, and life was going pretty good. The only thing that bugged her was that now that she had graduated from college with a Nursing Degree, she made the crazy decision to move back to her small town in Oklahoma. Sure, she could have moved to Dallas, Texas, like her original plan, but that plan just didn't fall through. That's right, her Dallas plan was that she was going to move there with her, at the time, fiancée, get a job at the hospital, getting married in December after a year and half engagement, and just enjoy life as a Doctor's wife. However, everything changed after she caught her fiancée with her college roommate. Each of them, her friend and fiancée, didn't want to see her leave and vowed that nothing else would go on, but she couldn't do that. If they wanted to be together, that was fine with her, she would just move on with her life, without either of them. So with that decision, she made the move back to the small town she grew up in.

Alison looked him over. "I'm completely lost and my map just flew out the window and..." she exhaled. "I'm looking for interstate 50. Can you tell me how to get there?" she asked and ran a nervous hand down the front of her skirt. "Do I happen to be anywhere close?" she asked. Alison bit her lip then stopped remembering what her mama had said about biting her lip but she liked the way he said ma'am. Alison had been in Hollywood getting her degree for the past 6 years and now was headed toward Maine to meet up with an old friend that had a job for her. Though originally Alison was from up scaled Dallas, Texas. You couldn't tell with the accent she had it was entirely west coast.

Keith sighed as he fixed the old coke sign for mama and then kissed her cheek. "No more getting on ladders alright?" he asked and she chuckled. Bell Miller was a strong lady and she could still get any house cleaner then a dish fresh out of the dishwasher for the first time. Bell was one fire starting lady and a hell of a mama. Keith smiled. "I'm gonna go start on the inn mama. I'll swing by to help clean up before closing." he said. Truth was they could really use another hand in the store. It was just getting to busy and no one could keep up with it and the inn at once. The inn was home though. Jackson lived up on the top floor and mama lived on the main. Keith had a room in the basement but often slept in the barn up top in the hay. Though he had set up a cot and a lantern. It was easier to get up and do morning chores if you where already there and the roster woke you up. Keith went over and hopped in his truck thinking to himself about his high school sweetheart. He wondered how she was. He always wondered what made her run off. Sometimes he still went to the airport and sat there watching the planes take off wondering if she might ever stop in for a visit.

Jackson tired his best to hide his smirk. He was completely right, she was lost, and now looking for someone to help her find her way back on the right track. He carefully listened to her as she explained that she was trying to find Interstate 50. He just gave her a simple nod as she went on asking if she was even close. "Yes ma'am." He simply replied. "First off, when you drive off here, instead of taking a left, going back to where you started, take a right. I'm telling you this because it's a quicker way to Interstate 50 and that way you don't get confused anymore." He told her before giving her his nice pearlie-white smile. When he saw that was a little unsure about this, he knew he was going to have to reassure her to trust me. "And yes ma'am you can trust me. I know how aggravating it can be when you're lost, so I wouldn't want to do that to you." He said with a reassuring smile. "And this time, don't lose your map." He said as he quickly made his way over to his truck. He hoped the driver's door and pulled out a nice map, that was hardly ever used from the side pocket of the door. He walked back over to her, handing her the map, still with a smile on his face.

Once she felt like she was settled in, but not fully unpacked, Hailey sat on the floor of the apartment, making out a grocery list of items she needed. "Well I guess it's better to go grocery shopping now, when I have the energy." She told herself as she turned to a blank page in her spiral notebook. She quickly, yet neatly wrote out her grocery list. When she was done with that, she gently got off the floor, grabbing her purse, then grabbed her keys off the counter. She double checked her list once more before putting on her sunglasses. She walked outside, locked her new apartment and made her way down to her truck. When she got in, she took a moment to just take in everything. Since coming back home, she started thinking abiout a lot of things from the past and with that, she started to think about people, certain people. She quickly back herself out of her dazed moment, started the truck, and drove to the little family store, remembering where it was. When she got there, she parked her truck, then hopped out of the truck. She walked inside, grabbed a shopping cart, and slowly started walking down the aisles of the store.

Alison felt like she could curse and hit something when he said to go back where she came from. Truth was she wasn't all that sure where she came from but he gave her a map and she smiled softly. "Yeah it just flew out the window. You see my air conditioning is broken and black isn't the best color for this weather." She sighed. Alison had felt like she had been driving forever. Why had she thought that she could drive across the country? Alison smiled. "Take a left then a right. Thank you." she said and looked at the map then back up at him with her green eyes. Alison got in her car and buckled up then with map in hand headed back out the way she came. She couldn't believe this day couldn't possibly get any worse. And as she started back she felt her belly grumble and sighed. To boot she hadn't eaten anything all day.

Keith pulled up to their road seeing a little sports car leaving a cloud of dust on it's way out. Keith sighed and then pulled up next to Jackson. "What are you doing Jacky?" Keith asked as he popped out of his truck to see his brother watching the car leaving. Keith ran a hand through his hair. He leaned on the top of his truck. It was a few more minutes on the road to get to the inn. Keith had no idea why Jackson wanted to keep up with the crops. They had the store, the inn, the animals and a small garden out back of the inn. It was more then enough.
Bell heard the door chime and watched and all to familiar face walk in. "Ms. Hailey Brooks." she said walking over to the girl. "What are you doing in town. Last I heard from your pa was that you went off and got yourself a nice degree and where engaged to a soon to be doctor."

Jackson just stood there, watching her little sport car drive away. right then and there, it hit him, he should have said something to her. Do a little more flirting. Tell how pretty she looked. Even ask her what he name was. But did he do any of that? Nope, just stood there like a fool, looking at her. "Way to go Jackson. Just let another pretty girl like that walk away and this time you didn't even get her name. You're such a fool. He scolded himself as he continued to stand there, looking at the now empty road. While he stood there, he heard his brother come up behind him, asking him what he was doing. He looked at Keith. "Well, was just helping a pretty girl find her way to Interstate 50." He said. "Well now she's gone, and no I didn't get her name at all. I'll see you later." He said before walking off to go finish his work. His mind was still on the pretty girl he just met, and was still beating himself up over the fact that he didn't get her name. When he finished up, he thought about this crazy idea, and that was going after her. He quickly ran to his truck , got in, and drove like hell to see if he had the luck of meeting up with her once again.

Hailey had just started walking down the aisle when she heard someone call out to her. Not even having to look at the person, she knew right away who it was and was just hoping that nothing awkward would come out of this. "Yes...yes it is." She said with a smile. "It's me Hailey Brooks." She said as she watched the older woman closer to her. She kept a smile on her face, seeing that things were going to be okay between them as they told. She knew even though she made the decision to leave home to go to college, leaving Keith in this small little town, and nothing but their moments to have of them. She pulled herself out of the past, listening to what her father had told Mrs. Miller. "Yes I did finally get that nursing degree, however, I am no longer engaged. Long story on that one." She added as she looked at the older woman.

"Jackson where the hell are you going!" Keith yelled as he watched his brother drive like a bat out of hell. Keith ran a hand through his hair. Now he had to finish what Jackson had started. It was typical but still bothered him. Keith cursed slightly as Old man Henry pulled up. "No wonder Jackson doesn't get anything done around here!" he grumbled to himself before saying howdy to Henry.
Alison pulled into a small town she had passed thinking she was headed the right direction and pulled into a little store. Maybe she could get something to go for the road here. Alison walked in to see an older lady talking to a younger one. She went the other way and looked around for something to pick up and eat. she found the fruit and got a bag starting to put some peaches in. Alison heard her heels clicking on the floor and she blushed for the first time because of them. She had never felt like she shouldn't be wearing heels.

Bell nodded and then pulled Hailey into her embrace hugging the girl. "Well I'm glad your back." she said then letter her go grinning. Bell was the image of a southern lady and she was more then kind to everyone until you hurt her family without cause. It seemed Bell didn't hold anything against Hailey. Otherwise she would have said so quite bluntly. "Now you let me know if you need anything now that your back and we'll get you taken care of." Bell said and smiled walking back to her register just in time for Alison to be walking over asking about the sweet tea she had seen advertised in the window.

Jackson drove on the road, and sighed. He realized that this was really a crazy idea, trying to find a girl who he would never see again, more than likely. He decided that he wasn't going to drive himself crazy about this. He then pulled into their family store, seeing the familiar expensive car that he just saw a couple of minutes ago sitting in the parking lot. "Found you." He told himself with a smile on his face. He was kind of surprised that he was getting the opportunity to see this girl once more time, and this time he knew that he wasn't going to screw it up. He parked his truck next to another pick up truck. Once he was parked, he shut off the truck and then jumped out, locking the truck with the keypad remote. He then swiftly walked inside the store, seeing his mama at the register talking to the girl. While he waited for her to finish talking with his mama, he walked down the aisles of the store. While he looked down the aisles, he saw a girl that looked very familiar. He kept staring at her for a moment then realized who it was. It was his brother's high school sweetheart, Hailey Brooks. Jackson really wanted to text his brother to tell him, but decided not to that yet. He just went about his business of 'looking' and occasionally looking over at the mystery girl he wanted to know, and when he wasn't doing that, he would look over at his brother's high school sweetheart, so surprised that she came back and wanted to know why she came back as well.

Hailey couldn't help but a smile a little when Bell pulled her into a hug. She was a little shocked that she actually hugged her. When she let her go, Hailey looked at the older woman. "Yes Mrs. Miller. I know if there is anything I need, I can ask you." She said with a smile. She then went on about her shopping when she saw another customer walk in. As she walked down the aisles, doing her grocery shopping, she heard the bell at the door go off, which caused her to look at the door. Right away, she knew who it was and couldn't believe that it was him. She wanted to go say hi to him, but felt like it might be a little weird to just walk up to your high school sweetheart's younger brother and start talking to him, especially since it's been a while since you'd seen him. She just continued on with her shopping, looking back at him from time to time, hoping that he wouldn't catch her looking at him. When she got done with her grocery shopping, she did a quick double check to make sure she had everything she wanted in her cart. Once that was done, she started making her way up to the front so that Mrs. Miller could ring her up. She was thinking about asking the older woman about Keith, but didn't want to come across as being noisy...somehow.

Keith leaned against a post as old Henry went on and on about the weather before finally saying something catching his attention. "And little Hailey Brooks moved back into town. "Guess she just couldn't take the city by storm like she had wanted. Keith looked up. "Hailey?" he asked as if he was dumb and the old man smiled nodding. "Yeah she moved back officially today. I think she's staying up above Humblott's garden store. They sure got some nice apartments over that way." Henry said and Keith stood there feeling like he was going to die. Why was she back. "You okay son?" Henry asked and Keith nodded. "Yeah I have to get tot he inn." he said and walked like a zombie back to the inn leaving Jackson's work where it was uncompleted and all.

Alison was carrying around the peaches and the tea as she wondered down every aisle as if she where compelled to see everything in the little store before she left. Alison went to pick something up but didn't quite maneuver the things in her hands right and the four peaches she had went all over. A soft groan came from her lips and she went to go chase after them. The heels where making it hard to move over the perfectly polished floor and she honestly felt like she might fall as she reached down to pick up a peach. Alison was not having the best day, fist her air conditioning, then she was lost then her map flew away and now this. Alison muttered under her breath about a stupid idea it was to drive. "Should have had my car shipped." she whispered looking up to see a pair of boots and blushed.

Bell smiled as Hailey came up checking her out seeing her son come in and eyeing the pretty little thing that wasn't from around here. Bell shook her head seeing the girl obviously was having one hell of a day. She tried not to snicker as she dropped her fruit. Bell smiled at Hailey. "I remember when you and Keith first meet. It was something to that effect to only I think you dropping your books was his fault. He had always talked about it." Bell chuckled. "You need any help carrying all this out to the car? I can grab my strappen' son over there who is about to make a move on that dandy little gal. Poor thing don't know what she's about to get into."

Jackson continued to watch the young girl, seeing how she moved down the aisle. He couldn't help but like a fool as he watched her. While he looked at her, he caught his mama looking at them. He just shook his head, turning his attention back to the young girl. When he noticed her trying to reach for something, all the while he hands being full. At the moment, he could tell that no good was going to come out of this. He started making his way over to her, when she dropped the peaches on the ground. He tried his best to fight back a laugh, not wanting her to think that he was making fun of her in anyway, shape, or form. He quickly, yet swiftly made his way over to her, to help her. When he got over to her, he overheard her saying something about shipping her car. "Now if you did that, you wouldn't be able to enjoy the country side of your trip or even get the opportunity to meet some people." He told her with his charming grin spread across his face. At this point, he had knelt in front of her and was helping her with her peaches.

As Hailey made her way up to the counter, she looked over at Jackson who was trying to make a move on the girl in the store. She just stood there, letting her mind start to wander a little on the past. She thought about the time Keith and her had first met, and that made her smile a little more. When she made her way to the counter where Mrs. Miller was waiting, her attention went back to Jackson and the girl for a moment. She looked at Mrs. Miller once more seeing her smile. When she heard Bell bring up the time that her and Keith had first met, she went back to thinking about that time. "Yes." She said softly. "It was his fault that my books fell out of my hands, however, he helped me pick them up, being the gentleman that his mama taught him to be." She said with a sweet smile. When she asked her about needing help out to her car, she shook her head no. "No, Mrs. Miller, I think I got this. Plus, I wouldn't want to break up Jackson from his moment of impressing a girl." She said laughing as she put the brown grocery bags in the cart and was going to take them to her truck. "Well Mrs. Miller, it was nice seeing you again, and I'm sure I'll see you around." She said as she made her way out of the door and to her truck.

Keith walked into the inn and got some water taking a drink then going into the barn and getting his tools. Keith went to the front yard and started working the yard. Keith wasn't sure how to handle this but he knew going after her had never worked. she had still flown away last time.

Alison looked up at him setting two peaches into the bag gently. "Yes I guess you're right but I had plenty of people and experiences in college. Mama said traveling long distance should only be on planes. She said it's just more civilized and I'm beginning to think she might be right." Alison stood as she saw the other two peaches in his hands. She put her open bag out and smiled. "Trick-or treat." she chuckled lightly. "Hey your the one that gave me the map... and the directions." Alison had set her sweet tea on the ground and stood there in her heels smiling at him.

Bell smiled watching Hailey leave. It was a small town it wouldn't be long until her son came face to face with his heartbreak. Bell worried about him and her. She was different then last time yet to the eye exactly the same. Something happened to that girl. Bell looked back at her son and smirked then went into the back.

Hailey walked up to her truck, unlocked the doors, and put all the groceries in the backseat. Once she was done with that, she walked the cart back up to the store before making her way back to her truck. When she got into the truck, she just sat there for a moment, looking at the store, reminiscing on all the memories she had made in the town. As she continued with looking back at the past, she couldn't help but think about Keith once again. If she was being honest, and most of the time she would tell anyone and everyone how she wanted to really see Keith once again, only if he would want to see her. After a couple of minutes, she sighed, turning the truck on. She carefully backed out of the parking lot, and started heading down the road. When she got home, she quickly put her groceries away. Once she was done with that, she looked at the time and decided to go once again. She was going to go take a nice stroll around town, maybe even a nice job. With that idea, she quickly changed into a part of black short shorts, a pink tank top, then changed from her cowboy boots to a white pair of tennis shoes. She took her brown hair and put it up in a high ponytail before going out of the apartment again. She had her phone with her, along with her earbuds. She turned on George Strait's song "Give it all we got tonight." She gently hummed the song as she started strolling down the sidewalk, just finally deciding it was time to let her mind wander now.

Jackson just smiled, listening to her talk about what he mama always said about traveling. He couldn't help but think how cute she was the more he talked with her. He just looked at her and winked, gently tossing her peaches in the brown bag when she said trick-or-treat. "Very Cute." He chuckled lightly. He then heard her asking if he was the one who gave her the map and directions, and at that moment, he knew that this was going to be a great start at something...at least that's what he was going on. "Yes ma'am I am." He said with a cheeky grin. "The name is Jackson. Jackson Miller to be exact." He said as he quickly tipped his cowboy hat at her. "And ma'am if you don't mind me asking, what's your name?' He asked as he looked down at her, his blue eyes sparkling. As he stood there, waiting for her to tell him her name, he quickly glanced over to his mama, who was heading towards the back, and just grinned. He then brought his attention once more to the girl, still smiling sweetly.

Alison looked at Jackson and smiled softly turning to see the woman leaving and she bit her lip and looked back at Jackson. "Oh forgive me." she put her peaches down and held out her hand as if to shake his. "Alison Straight. But you can call me Ali. My parents hate that nickname." she shrugged and grinned. "It's nice to meet you Mr. Miller. His piercing blue eyes made her shiver lightly and she couldn't help but be struck by him. A song came on over the radio and Alison looked up at him. No one called her Ali but she wished people did. It was simple and sweet.

Keith sighed as he finished up the work in the front. He looked down the road remembering how often they had meet there on that road. Keith smiled and took his hat off rubbing his head. He placed it back and headed around to take care of the small garden in the back for mama. She was getting slower since Pa died and he had been trying to pick up the slack. He was worried about his Mama. Keith wished that that brown haired, brown eyed girl coming running around the house again to tackle him. He could remember a many chores that would go undone because of her.

Jackson just chuckled as he heard her call him Mr. Miller. He just shook his head at that. "I'm not Mr. Miller. Mr. Miller was my father. Please call me Jackson or Jack...if you would like." He said with a smile. "And I like the name Allison, it fits you so well." He said with a charming smile. "However, if you would like me to call you Ali, I will do that as well, that nickname fits you so well and it's so cute...just like you." He added, letting his Miller charm kick in. As he stood there with her, he thought he saw her blushing, but didn't say a single word on that, knowing he had already embarrassed her by telling her that he thought she was cute. When he heard the song come on the store's radio, he just smiled. "Country music...you got to love it." He commented, trying to make things less awkward or embarrassing for her.

Hailey continued to run, taking in all scenery, and letting memory after memory come back. While she jogged, she stopped, looking at the street sign and just sighing softly to herself. This was it, this was the road that had the most memories on it. The road that Keith Miller lived on. She stood there for a moment, just continuously staring at the street sign, not believing that she had truly ran that far. She opened the water bottle that she had in her hand the only time and took a sip, letting herself a minute to rest. She listened carefully to the new song playing in her ears, it still being a George Strait song. She took another minute to stretch out her legs before she carried on what jogging, down that road, not knowing if she was going to run into Keith or not. As she got closer to his house, he heart began to pound, but she just looked forward as she ran, trying to get her mind of something else, however, that was failing for her.

Alison smiled at him as he talked a blush heating her cheeks as she giggled. "Thanks." she said smiling as he took her hand. She guessed she would leave it to him what he called her but somewhere she thought how romantic it would be if he was the only one to call her Ali. Alison smiled at him and bit her lip looking down. "It seems to follow me and tell me how to feel." she said and blushed. "Sorry I'm rambling." she said and looked at him. "Well Jackson you can let go of my hand now." Alison said and looked up into his eyes. Gosh he had beautiful eyes and she felt as if for the first time in a long time she was more then just a plain girl from Dallas.

Keith looked up and licked his lips. He took off his shirt wondering where he had left his water. Jackson walked around the house and went onto the porch wiping his hands on his pants then grabbing his drink and sitting on the banister looking out at the road and nearly doubled over. Was he seeing this correctly. Was Hailey Brooks walking down his road with those short shorts and tanned long legs. Keith set his now half empty glass down and hopped off the banister making himself smile like there was no pain in seeing how great she looked. Keith adjusted the hat on his head and walked toward her. He had to be sure it was her. What would she be off down this way for?

Jackson just grinned as he heard Allison ramble on about something, and at this point, he wasn't sure what she was rambling about now. He just shook his head when she apologized about rambling before speaking. "No you're absolutely fine." He said in a rather husky voice. When she said something about him letting go of her hand, he glanced down at their hands and smiled a little to himself. "Well if letting go of your hand is what you would like me to do, then I shall." He spoke, still letting that huskiness in his voice. He could see her blushing a little more, but she nothing to that still. He stood there quietly, letting himself just take in the beauty that was before him. "You know Ali...you could stay a little longer. At least stay for the evening.' He said with a grin. "What do you say? I'll show you around time and if you're okay with it, you can join my family and I for some nice home cooked meal thanks to my mama." He added, hoping she would say yes to that.

As Hailey approached the Miller's house, she turned her head to look at it. She then took a deep breath in then out, just thinking back to all the memories she had. When she saw the house, she stopped, just staring at house and everything around it. "Oh the memories in that house. She told herself with a sigh. She couldn't believe that she had the nerve to even stop to look at the house, not knowing if anyone was home or not. Just as she looked at the Miller's place, she noticed someone walking towards her. Right away, she knew who it was and her heart started pounding even harder. She thought maybe now would have been the best time to start running, wanting to cause no problems for anyone. When she started to continue with her run, she ended up stepping in a hole and fell down, slightly twisting her ankle. Due to her medical background, she knew right away what she did to her ankle. "Oh this is just great." She mumbled to herself as she looked at her already swollen ankle. "Ouch."

Alison smiled as he let go of her hand. "Uhh." she was just struck when he asked her to stay. Alison looked him over and felt her head moving in a nod. "I..." then she shook her head. "I don't have a place to stay the rest of the night and I have such a long ways to drive." she said and Bell came out as if on queue as usual. "Well I run the inn as it happens and I also happen to be his mama, so if you come over for dinner you'll be in the perfect place for the night, and one day will be the perfect rest so you can get back on the long road tomorrow." Bell said and put the cans of soup from the boy Keith had brought out earlier onto the shelf. Alison turned looking at her. "Oh I couldn't stay unannounced and I don't even know the rates..." Bell laughed as Alison tired to argue. "Well how about this. I'll charge you what I charge family and you eat everything I dish onto your plate." Alison was shocked and again found herself nodding. Bell grinned. "Great." she said and took her things off the floor headed to the counter. "Seven dollars even sweet heart." She said and Alison found herself heading up to pay for the peaches and the tea her belly grumbling as if in a reminder.

Keith watched as she went to run away and fell into that pot hole he had been meaning to fix. "Hailey!" his voice was full of worry and care. Keith ran over to her and hit his knees beside her. He pulled her instinctively half way onto his lap picking up her ankle carefully. "Ouch." he said looking at it and nodded. "Yeah your not running anywhere anytime soon." he said and looked down at her. He paused and cleared his throat then picked her up pressing her to his bare chest and taking her onto the porch. "Sit there long enough for me to get you some ice would ya?" he asked and looked at her. "Don't argue with me on this." he said and then ran inside and came back out wearing a shirt but it was open and carrying a towel with ice inside. He handed her the ice water in the glass he had then kneeled down in front of her elevating her leg and gently pressed the ice to her ankle. Keith had never been one to listen until the proper thing was done. " I got some pain killers in my shirt pocket if you need 'em." Keith didn't look up to her though he focused on her ankle and trying not to run his hand up her beautiful leg.

Jackson grinned as he watched his mama emerge from the back, telling Allison that she should stay and all. It was times like this that made him realize how lucky he was to have a mama like his. He said nothing more as he followed them to the counter, standing behind Allison the whole time. He caught himself looking her up and down, and quickly reminded himself that he was a gentleman and that his own mama was in the room as well. Once Allison paid, he looked up at her and just grinned. "Miss Ali, shall I walk you to your car?" He asked gently. He glanced at his mama once more, seeing her just smiling at them. He brought his attention back to Allison and just smirked.

Hailey was practically frozen at the moment with what just took place. When Keith picked her up, she just sat there, glancing up at him. Just in this short time, feelings started playing with her mind. Why did she ever leave him? Or how could he just let her go away like that? Questions filled her head, but she said nothing at all. When they got on the porch, and he had set her down to ice, she stayed nothing. She knew she wasn't able to argue with him, and when he told her not to argue with him, she couldn't help but laugh a little. She just looked down at him as he iced her foot. She missed his touch and right now was the closest she was getting to in such a long time. She fought back all emotions and stayed super quiet, focusing on her twisted ankle.

Alison smiled as she looked up at him. "Oh I was uhh..." she forgot what she was thinking when he looked at her like that. Alison turned bright red and looked at the fruit in her hands. "Was going to eat this outside... I'm famished." she admitted. Alison bit her lip then quickly stopped. Bell chuckled. "Jackson take her to lunch." Bell said and then shook her head. "Peaches is nothing a girl can live on. You can eat those for desert." Bell said and shooed then out of the store. Alison looked back at the door as she stood outside with Jackson.

Keith slowly unlaced her shoe and took it off then her sock pressing it into her shoe as he looked at her ankle. "I think we got a wrap inside. I see those fancy people in that school didn't make you any less clumsy." Keith propped her leg on a stool and set the pain killers in her hand as he went inside once more. Keith came out with a wrap and his keys. Keith kneeled again and then sighed. "If anything it only seemed to make you quitter. Come on Hailey I ain't gonna bite if you talk to me." Keith sighed and started to wrap her foot gently. He had shoved his keys in his pocket and was now expertly wrapping her ankle. He had always had tender hands. Keith pressed the ice back onto her ankle after he finished and just sat there looking the same as when she had left maybe just a little tanner and a little more muscular. Keith set his hat down and looked up at her. "Where you really running form me?" he said seeming to ask about a log time ago but was talking about just before he had gotten to her. "You know I would have followed." his words seemed to carry double meaning. Keith bit his lip. Truth was his Pa died after she left and he was needed here.
