Objective: Write an original historical fiction one-shot with one of the time periods.
Rules:
1. Follow Mibba rules and guidelines.
2. The minimum word count for this challenge is 800. There is no maximum.
3. Only one person per time period. It is first come, first serve.
4. You may change your time period once to something that is still available.
5. Remote historical accuracy is important, so do a little research if you're not completely familiar with your era.
6. You must use original characters. You may mention historical figures of the period and even use them as supporting characters, but your main character must be original.
7. You may use your historical region in any way that you feel it can be linked. If you choose a historical region/time period in which there was a conflict and you choose to approach that region as the enemy or victim (foreign or native), that is absolutely fine.
8. Deadline extensions will be granted for a maximum period of 48 hours if the author has good reason for one.
9. If there is anything that is not on the list that you feel should be, feel free to ask about it. I have primarily done western and middle eastern history for those are my areas of study, and I am open to anything as long as two people do not do the same location/time period.
How to Earn Bonus Points:
1. Be creative! Approaching the subject from a unique or alternative angle will only help you! (Hint: See Rule #7.)
2. Do your research! The more accurate, the better. Flex your creativity but still nod to the historical value.
Prizes:
The grand prize winner will receive a recommendation, feedback on two stories of their choice, a link to their winning story in my signature, and after giving me a description of themselves, a genre, and a short idea for a historical fiction one-shot, they will be portrayed as a character in a one shot written by me. In that one-shot, I will also place a link to the winner's profile and winning one-shot.
The runner-up will receive a recommendation and feedback on two stories of their choice.
