If this topic has been done already, sorry!

My little siblings are fraternal twins. They look absolutely nothing alike. My sister has brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin, and my brother has blue eyes, dirty blond hair, and is as pale as the moon. In school I've known three sets of identical twins; Ami and Ali, Dom and Ben, and Ryan and Aaron. For me it took me months to figure out the differences between the pairs and I still can't tell Aaron and Ryan apart...

Also, do you believe in twin-telepathy and/or have had a secret twin language? How do you and your twin get along? Which one is older and by how much?

I'm not a twin and none of my siblings are, but they run in our family so they likelihood one or more of my siblings (or I) will have twins is increased.

I do believe in idioglossia. I've done a teeny bit of research on it.

Faternal twins, in my experience with being one, don't normally look alike. My brother (who is about a minute older than me) and I look completely different - I have blue eyes, am paler, and have blond hair, while he has darker, dirty blond hair, green eyes and is tanner.

As for twin telepathy, nope, I don't believe it in. I mean, my brother and I have a bunch in common, but we can't read each others thoughts or have a secret language. But, you know, that's just us.

The doctor thought I was twins before I was born. (Probably because I was such a big baby! Laughing) I dunno though, I think it would've been cool to be a twin, certainly an identical one.

My cousins are identical twins. I grew up with them and they turned my childhood a living hell.
But I love them now, they are like the older brothers I've never had. Most people can't tell them apart, which is a bit odd to me, maybe it's because the long years coexisting, but I can't remember mistaking one for another. In my eyes they're completely different people, with different personalities, different preferences and opinions.

Yes, sometimes they do stuff like completing each other's phrases and doing the same thing at the same time without noticing but I believe it's the closeness. When you live for so long with a person and get along with them since you were born, it's not even a surprise.

And when we play card games they never know what cards the other has unless they're cheating, so no, I don't believe in twin telepathy.

I am an identical twin, my sister is only one minute older than me (she never lets me forget it!:P) The two of us are very close and get a long very well (most of the time.) That being said, I don't believe (as much as i want to) that there is such thing as twin-telepathy. We can tell what the other is thinking a lot of the time, but that is because we know each other so well, and have spent SO much time together. As children, my mother told me we did have our own conversation in our "baby-talk" but its not like we remember it. I think if we wanted to we could create our own language, though. As much as I would love the "twin-telepathy" and the "secret twin language" I believe those are myths about twins (unfortunately, haha) Very Happy

    @ gonna hear dru roar.
I didn't know that. That's really interesting. That's probably the only set of twins of the same gender that are fraternal.

The difference between the two, according to the Internet is:
    Quote
Identical means they come from one zygote and then split into two embryos, which fraternal means they develop from two eggs, both fertalized by different sperm cells.

The difference between the two, according to the Internet is:
Fraternal same sex twins are just as likely as fraternal opposite sex twins because there is a 50/50 chance of a sperm carrying an x or y chromosome.

I'm a twin, I'm 2 minutes older than my brother, we use to get asked if we're identical or fraternal which is silly because it's impossible to be identical twins as a female/male set Rolling Eyes We still get asked in fact.

As with the twin telepathy thing, it depends. This one time I got home from school and I texted my mum asking if we could have this certain food for dinner, she picked my brother up from his school and he asked her for the same food. I guess you can have similar feelings at the same time or have similar thoughts but "telepathy, reading minds" goes a bit far XD

I'm an identical twin and I'm sixteen minutes younger than my sister. She had trouble with breathing at birth so I had to wait around a little. XD We have a love/hate relationship, but she's closer to me than anyone in the world, if that makes sense. I truly believe that 'two halves of a whole' thing, because I don't think that I'd be physically whole without her, even though I hate her at times and I'm thankful that she no longer lives at home.

I do believe in twin telepathy! Not in the fact that we can read each other's minds, but in the fact that we can feel each other's emotions. My sister and I have been through a lot and on the first night I was out and I tried to kill myself, she rang me over and over again and when she couldn't get on to me she pestered mum saying that something was wrong. On the same note, my sister was sexually abused as a child and even though I didn't go through anything like that, I feel the repercussions of it. Before I even knew that something had happened to her, too. So much so that they tried to find something in my life and thought that I'd repressed something.

I don't think that it's possible to describe what being a twin's like! Her boyfriend gets mad at us because he feels like he's a third wheel when the three of us are together. tehe There's just an understanding there. That she knows me more than anyone and vice versa. We can't go a week without talking, even though we're not always on the best terms, because something doesn't feel right now that we're not living together. I dunno. XD I'm not all mushy and she's not always my favourite person in the world but if I had to choose one person to have with me for the rest of my life I wouldn't even question my decision. Even if she is a nightmare. lmfao

I'm a fraternal twin but when me and my brother were little we looked almost identical. He's only 3 seconds older because my mom had a C-Section. He's seriously my best friend even though we're completely different. He's like the wild child and I'm the socially awkward one. We go to different colleges but he knows every aspect of my life and vice versa. We don't fight as much ss we used to when we were younger. We totally have twin telepathy like I get ghost feelings of whatever he's feeling sometimes. We can't communicate in our minds or anything but we have a lot pf nonverbal signals that just came from being together all the time.

I'm a twin, a fraternal one and me and my twin bro look a lot alike, except he's bigger and taller than me. My twin is older than me by about seven minutes. I don't think we have the twin telepathy thing going on, but we do share a lot of things about each other.

Two of my closest friends are fraternal twins. Sometimes they refer to me as their triplet because we grew up together and I was born fairly close to them. They don't look very alike in my opinion, even looking at baby photos you can easily tell who is who.

I know so many twins. My neighbors granddaughters who are the same age as me are twins. Then throughout school there was at least 10 different sets of twins in my grade. There was at least 5 more that I knew of who were grades above/below me. There is also a set of twins in my family and could be more that I'm not aware of.

I'm a twin! I have a twin sister (identical.) It’s pretty fun because you always have someone to do things with. But I also hate when people call me by the wrong name. I still answer but always correct them.

I am an only child- but twins run in my family.

It's almost scary how...accurate the pattern is.

It's always the oldest child of every other generation. My grandmother had twins, her grandmother had twins...

If the pattern continues, I'll likely have twins (I am the oldest, after all). Unsure I know a lot of people don't believe in that sort of things, but I've seen enough of my family's genealogy that it actually scares me.

I wish I was a twin, but I'm not. I'm not close with any of my siblings and I had a lot of trouble making friends as a kid...and adolescent...and teenager. I'm also not good at keeping friends as an adult because I'm lazy/bad with relationships. A twin would have been awesome to have to hang out with.

Strangely enough, outside of fictional characters, I don't know many sets of twins. Also, of the one that I know that I know, I'm only friends with half of the set. I actually don't like her twin at all.
