("a suffocating nose" XDDD ahh the image.)

The corner of Rennyn's mouth quirked a little. She was as disinterested now as he was, he could tell. It amused him a little, to think that her plan was not so well thought out. Had she just done this on a whim? Perhaps she was secretly just curious about demon pacts. Indeed, it was something she had learned of that not many unfallen angels had experienced, as there were not many scenarios when an angel could retain their innocence when dealing a pact with a demon. Many feared falling and refused even the most beneficial of deals, but Leilah had not worried much at all, at least she had not expressed it if she had.

He considered this thought. It was a sufficient question, though not a particularly large one and it would really benefit him in no way at all, but he figured he may as well take advantage of the "truth" stipulation. It would be interesting to hear her honest thoughts.

"I suppose I don't have any questions in particular. To be honest, I am not very curious about you or anything to do with you, though I do have a wonder," he began. "Is it your arrogance that makes you brave enough to face me, and even make a deal with me? Or were you more hesitant than you let on, and your curiosity was what pushed you to do it?" It was really the only thing he wondered at this point. It wasn't even something he was dying to know, unfortunately. Deal aside, if she lied through her wings he wouldn't care, it was of no consequence to him. He couldn't decide if he was eager to hear her reply, or if he was simply just restless. He'd not had a sleep in the human realm yet and he wasn't even sure how restful an experience it could be. The longer he put it off, the better.

(OMG xD that's supposed to say noose >_____>)

It felt practically like whole minutes had ticked by before the demon deigned to ask a question of his own. Leilah allowed herself to longer longer on her own thoughts whilst she waited, figuring she might as well try to do something productive in her own mind at least instead of being one of those empty minded humans.

And then he asked his question, and without really being able to help it, after she had listened and come to comprehend what he was asking, she actually started laughing. It was a rude, loud sound, coming from her at that time, and remembering they were all supposed to be asleep, she fought hard to control it, even hushing heralded with a hand at her mouth. When finally she trusted to not laugh anymore, she sighed and shook her head, an amused smile playing at her lips as she sat up and looked over at Rennyn. "You're being serious?" Her eyebrows ticked up in moderate surprise, and another fit of laughter threatened to bubble over for a moment.

Finally, she chuckled a little and shook her head. "What an odd question, and to answer it, neither." She smirked at him. "I am not particularly hesitant, but nor am I arrogant. I am not even fully entitled yet; I've certainly never faced a demon before. If I'm to be honest, which was the agreement and I'm not sure I wish to know what would happen if I broke that, I've had no idea what I've been doing." She shrugged. "It's not arrogance, bravery, curiosity, or really much else except recklessness," she admitted with another shrug. "I've been going off what I've been told and what would probably be right. I wasn't lying when I said I'm stuck and don't know how to get back yet. I'm working it out though." Only the last was said with complete confidence; because she had no intention of stayin in this place.

(I dunno, I kinda liked nose XD)

As she had her laughing fit, Rennyn decided to flop down face first into the pillow. He ignored it, not looking for a long winded reaction, he simply wanted her verbal reply. And when it came...

Ah, recklessness. That seemed right, and stupid, but fitting. He didn't think she lacked arrogance, much like he himself did not, but her reasoning was sound. He actually gave her props for her sincerity, something their deal had not required, only that the words themselves were not false. It was the one thing he hadn't expected from her. He was coming to find that the angel was oddly sincere though, despite her intent not to show it. He could see it in both the occasions she spoke about her vague mission, and he saw it when she interacted with the humans sometimes too. He wouldn't be surprised if she got herself attached to them.

"Is that what you intend to do tomorrow, then?" he questioned idly as he began to come to terms with the need to sleep. He could feel it, vaguely, but he'd honestly never been tired before. He didn't have a firm grasp of what it was like, what he was supposed to do, if there was a method. He knew how to feign sleep, it was another one of those human things that he'd had to learn before coming, but there was no need for it before.

By the time she had gotten her explanation out and all, Leilah had calmed down quite a bit and relaxed against the couch again. What was that feeling anyway? It was like exhaustion after hours of practice. Her limbs felt heavy like it, except her mind felt slightly heavy too, like after a particularly hard test. Except this was worse. It wasnt so much that it was all heavy so much as he was beginning to find it hard to keep her eyes open. This was strange and she didn't like it, she decided.

"What; be reckless?" She asked to the demon's question and waved her hand indolently. "I have no intentions. I've made sure those pictures will never see the light of day, but I've already offered to go with her, so I will." Surprisingly enough, she yawned just then. Was this actually what it felt like to be tired? Was her glamour causing her to want to sleep?

Leilah groaned a little and layed back on the couch, any enthusiasm and energy she had before sapped. "Just make sure the room has two beds if we have to keep the charade up," she muttered, closing her eyes. Not because she was tired, she privately insisted, but because she wanted to. "And don't make me punch any more walls; it actually hurts with a glamour." Her words were practically just mutters but she wasn't enough in her usual mindset to really care what she said. "Need to... Find... Wings.." And then only Rennyn was awake.

(I feel like my brain is not functioning enough for a decent sentence XD ugh. I transitioned, since we were sleeping.)

Punch a wall? Was that what was wrong with her hand? He laughed quietly, hearing her muttered words and the sudden change in her breathing. It seemed she'd managed to fall asleep already, and Rennyn couldn't help but feel slightly jealous. Though to be honest, he was glad she went first. He didn't want to be exposed to that vulnerability that Leilah had just shown--not that either of them really had any opportunity to do anything to the other, pesky rules and all--but it just wasn't something he wanted to show the angel. His thoughts swirled around his new body's human functions--how did humans fall asleep? The trick wasn't coming to him like it had seemed to come to Leilah, and it was beginning to frustrate his very awake mind. And not only that, but now he was entirely alone in his frustration.

The snores of the humans and the soft breathing of the angel were like obnoxious bells in his sensitive ears. They mocked him, mocked his ability to be human where it counted. He buried his face in the squishy white pillow, wondering if he suffocated himself that would somehow succeed him lulling him to sleep. He was pretty sure that that only caused death, though.

He thought for sure he would be seeing the sun before his mind shut down...

...but then suddenly he found himself waking up. Was this what humans called a dream? Rays of light trickled just barely through the blinds, enough to stir the metaphorical wings on his back and bring his mind back into the waking realm. He dragged his torso up and looked around. It hadn't been a dream, was his conclusion. It took many minutes of self-persuasion and pointless rolling around to get his body to be motivated enough to crawl out from beneath the warm blankets. Uncaring if the angel was still laying on the couch, asleep or awake, he made his way to the thankfully unoccupied bathroom, prepared to take his first shower on earth in attempt to wake his still partially asleep mind and body.

If he believed in such a place, then this human contraption would be paradise.

(I love these two xD can't wait to see how they act when they actually start getting along)

It felt like two minutes, at most. Those were two minutes of blissful, frightening darkness, and then Leilah's eyes came open. In the time between when they had closed and now opened, it was actually hours that had passed and her body wasn't really experiencing that heavy sensation anymore. In fact, her mind felt completely fresh, at odds with her heavy limbs that didn't yet wish to move. She first forced herself into a sitting position and then made herself stretch.

Was that sleep? Closing your eyes and meeting darkness, then opening them not long later to discover hours had passed? If so, Leilah was both allured and repulsed by this strange thing humans had to do to function. And it didn't just wear off either, which put her off. What good was a blissful darkness if when it went away, it brought such side affects with it?

Leilah stood up, wishing to stretch her wings, and was disappointed at the utter lack of feeling against her back. It was just bare skin, with nothing else. She could feel something, a strange little thing, but she suspected she would have to look for the cause. In the mean time... Where was everyone else? She didn't see the demon, not the humans, and so guessed she was apparently alone. Pursing her lips together, she considered what she might do, and decided maybe to try and look in a mirror. She could linger longer this time, really inspect her glamour, what it looked like. She felt bare, yet constrained, weak, exposed. She had none of the comforts of her true form and was curiois to try and piece the differences together physically.

So, with that purpose in mind, she headed towards the bathroom; since the door was kept closed and she heard nothing from the inside, she simply entered- and very quickly turned the color of a tomato. Emerging stark naked from the shower was actually the demon, not even having gotten a towel yet. Leilah briefly fumbled for words, but in the end simply turned and walked right back out, closing the door behind her. Then she went to pace the living room and dispel the image from her mind. It was very difficult actually. Most angels were pretty pure, and it was the younger ones like herself that were the most so. This meant she was actually very innocent and most likely scarred by what she had just seen.

    (SCARRED. hahaha -dies-)

The warm water glided in beads down his exposed skin, soaking in and relaxing his muscles which he hadn't noticed had been so surprisingly tense and sore. He attributed this foreign feeling with the new body, and the fact he had slept on the floor--something humans often seemed to avoid. Now he knew why. He let his hand comb through his now entirely wet hair, smoothing it back. He was put off momentarily by the absence of a horn--he'd only ever had one to begin with, something a little unusual and even embarrassing when compared to his brethren, but losing that one made him feel even less of a demon.

He finished up quickly after that, the tips of his fingers starting to wrinkle oddly and uncomfortably. He knew if he didn't get out now he'd likely never want to, anyways. So he stepped out of the tub tenderly, feeling like a misstep would be only too easy with all the slicked surfaces around him. So focused was he on the slight chill that invaded his previous warm paradise was he that he barely even noticed the opening of the door until it was too late. And there he stood, in all his glory, before the angel. For a moment, he could only stare back at her awkwardly with a neutral expression. And after what seemed like minutes, but was probably only seconds, she turned looking very hurried and significantly more pink in the face than usual, she left and closed the door harshly behind her. For another moment longer, he just remained there unmoving. The room had gotten even chillier with the intrusion of the outside air, but he didn't notice it at first.

And then a violent shiver wracked his small human frame and he snapped back into reality. First and foremost, he grabbed a towel and wrapped it around himself to stop the continuous dripping. After that was taken care of, he had to force down the laughter that begged to erupt, bubbling incessantly in his gut. The angel had just walked in on him naked and then ran away. He couldn't have expected a more amusing morning than this, and he was almost tempted to walk back out there unclothed just to see her reaction one more time. But he resisted the urge, keeping in mind that this was not his house and that was an inappropriate thing to do in front of aquaintances of the opposite gender in the human world. So he put clothing on, and only after doing so did he leave the now steamless bathroom.

Coming back into the living area, he immediately targeted the angel. "Not too bad for such a puny body, right?" he asked her with a wicked grin. His muscles weren't as lean as he would have liked, but for the youthful appearance he had taken on, he was pleasantly surprised after seeing it in the mirror for the first time just previously.

That and he imagined being such a pure little thing, he was probably the first male she'd ever seen naked. Not to mention he was a demon.

Oh, this day was already looking to be a good one.

(Yes, scarred XD I'm practically in the floor laughing)

Leilah could pull her hair out and scream very happily. The image. The image wouldn't leave her head no matter how hard she tried, and to anyone who didn't know what was going on, it probably simply appeared that she was pacing furiously. It might also be thought that the definite heat in her cheeks could be from anger, but he knew better -and the demon too, she suspected.

For a moment as she heard the bathroom, she froze even, then resumed her pacing, fighting the urge to close her eyes though se did stare fixatedly at the carpet. Looking up now and seeing him -even if he might now have clothes on- wasn't going to help make the picture go away, and though she had walked in the bathroom, her mind blamed him for the entire ordeal.

She could gleefully murder him where he stood.

And when he spoke to her... The noise that came from her throat was a mix between choking and disgust. "No, it was horrible," she countered waspishly, finally making herself stay still. She couldn't bring herself to look up though, wasn't sure she wanted to have to deal with this arrogant, smart ass demon for the rest of the day with what had just occurred, and decided she wanted to disappear.

"I'm going out," she announced. "Tell Della and Abby whatever, if anything, but I'm going." She mentioned nothing of where she was going or when she would be back -if she came back- and so she simply picked up her head finally, glowered scorchingly at the demon, and then headed towards the front door. Soon, she was on her way down the stairs towards the ground floor, feeling utterly flustered and... Something else she couldn't quite name that had to do -she was sure- with utter fury.

Rennyn didn't contain his laughter this time, now happy that Leilah could hear it directly in his presence. He laughed at her, at her reaction, at the situation. It was just too perfect to have been planned, not even her God could save her from herself. He watched gleefully as she stormed out of the house, and he wanted to go after her immediately but for some reason he actually felt like he needed to tell Della first.

So when she, quite conveniently, entered the room just then he gave her a sheepish smile--which was oh-so-hard considering how badly he just wanted to continue laughing at the angel's expense. "She bailed," he said in simple explanation with a slight shrug of his shoulders. Della looked a little disappointed, but she returned his smile assuringly and waved him off.

"No big deal," she replied, "she would have been bored anyways." After that, she went about her business. She made a quick cereal for Abby and offered to make Rennyn something as well but he declined and decided to make his way down to the office now and get it out of the way. He would try and find Leilah afterwards. He just couldn't help but want to torment her even more now after that incident. It was like a gift--she couldn't have given him anything better shy of her soul.

So he left the apartment without seeing the sleep-filled face of little Abby and made his way down to the just-opened office. The man within looked... even more awful than usual, but his smell wasn't as foul as the previous day. Still bad, just not as pungent. He assumed the man cleaned himself up--if only marginally.

At the end of the encounter, he had keys in his hand and his signature demonic grin in place.

"I couldn't possibly move in without my dear sister now, could I?" he questioned himself out loud with a sickly sweet innocence that not even the most naive would be fooled by. And with that, he skipped out of the apartment building and was on his way out into the world to find his favorite angel. Now where could she be?

(You play Rennyn so perfectly! XD)

She was well out the door with the ghost echo of Rennyn's laughter when Leilah clenched her fists. She almost felt, momentarily, as if she might hit something again. She refused and just walked about aimlessly in an attempt to distract her mind.

It was some time later, but eventually she realized she had, in fact, managed the feat. She wasn't sure when her face had stopped burning unbearably or when the image had dissipated, but it was finally gone from her mind -and she had come to realize she couldn't even begin to recognize where she was at. It was presumably the same town, it had the look and feel to it, but she hadn't been paying attention to where she was walking.

It was just as well, she decided. It was less likely the demon or the humans would run into her. She seemed to be in a fairly desolate part of the town, which, unlike how most people would think, she didn't mind at all. Reckless... She had hit the word right on the spot.

She kept walking, ending up circling around and heading toward the place a where more people traveled, feeling better and better by all the exercise. Maybe that was how she truly kept her sanity -exercise. It did make sense, she concluded, and it definitely seemed to help now, though it had failed to put her in higher spirits. She didn't quite know how to feel about it all at this point, except embarrassed. Honestly... She would never open another door without knocking first ever.

(Thanks XD I get worried sometimes! I feel like you are more consistent than I am)

He stopped almost as soon as he his feet landed on the bland concrete, nearly barreling into a couple walking hand in hand. They gave him a funny look, which he responded to by sticking his tongue out, and refocused on what had stopped him in the first place. The angel's aura had smacked him in the gut like the real thing might have done, might soon do. He looked around and could almost see the trail leading off into one direction. "What, was she pooping glitter too?" he asked and received a few more strange looks in response. He ignored them and trailed after the aura, taking pleasure in the thought that the angel must have been feeling very strongly to have left such large bread crumbs behind--nay, they were more like bread loaves.

He kicked up his pace, hoping to find her relatively quickly even though she had a fairly decent head start. But this was the fun part--he liked to think of it as his first hunt in the human world, because finding Della hardly counted. He'd literally just seen her and decided. This would be much more fun. His legs were able to keep up a surprising speed considering the length of his strides and the limitations of his human shell, but he was happy about this and he was quickly on his way down the road. The aura was strong and unpleasant, but he figured it wasn't actually glittery poop, so he could manage. He was fine with living with the angel, but he drew the line at angel poop.

Though he did wonder now if it actually glittered.

Disturbed by his own train of thought, he found himself occasionally walking in circles and crossing streets twice following her trail. He didn't know if she was purposely being evasive or if her muddle mind was just taking her for a ride. The latter was more amusing, so even if it was false he was just going to believe that anyways. However, as he continued on the aura got thinner and thinner and soon he was barely able to feel it. He could feel it somewhere nearby, but the angel must have regained her mind if she was aware of her own aura again and that made it much more difficult for him to trace. He knew he was close, but he was uncertain of which direction. So he decided to choose the one that seemed the best (and not in the way he'd just come from) and go from there.

If she'd really composed herself than it was his duty to find her and torture her some more.

The demon should've headed out by now, and maybe even the humans. That meant if Leilah headed back from wherever she's ended up, she would have some time alone, and without being lost for who knows how long. So, she started in the direction she found most likely to be right. Maybe it wasn't, but she would eventually find her way back. She knew certain land marks and signs and buildings that would help -if she could find them. By her way of thinking, if she ended up further out, towards less civilization rather than more, she simply needed to turn in he opposite direction and begin walking.

She hadn't made it ten feet with this intent in mind when she felt a familiar feeling in her gut. Narrowing her eyes, she stopped for a moment, but realized how that would look and ended up walking again, keeping her previous pace while also keeping an eye out for a certain demon who may or may not have followed her. How- she didn't know. As far as she knew, the ability to sense each other only extended to close quarters. Maybe not, if he was here somewhere.

In the privacy of her thoughts, a groan emitted, though she showed no sign of it on the outside. Maybe if she just kept walking, she would stop feeling his presence eventually. A few minutes later, and it was still there, faintly humming stronger. Well, and there was honestly no sense in avoiding him. Not only would it make her seem cowardish, but she refused to let a demon think she was scared of him.

And so Leilah pressed on, keeping herself in check, and much to her pride, even when she saw the demon at the mouth of the street he had been walking on, she showed no sign of recognizing him, slowing, speeding -nothing. She simply kept on with her set pace, moving past him afterwards and down the street. She assumed since he had come from that way, that it was a good place to start on getting back to familiar territory. She had no intentions of heading inside, far from it in fact, but she didn't like the feeling of being lost in a filthy human city either. And so... She walked.

The feeling got stronger and stronger as he walked, and he knew he was probably going in the right direction even though he still couldn't tell from which way it was coming from. It continued to build and build and then...

Then it started ebbing away. What? Why? He stopped in his tracks and turned around, looking at the nearby streets. There were a decent amount of people around, but not enough to hide the angel if she were trying to avoid him that way. So as the aura began moving further away from him, he decided to think. It was, despite whatever the angel may think of him, his strongest attribute. He was not as physically imposing as some of his fellows--not that he wasn't a good fighter--but he preferred beating others with intelligence and strategy and this was the only real time he'd gotten to flex his brain this far on earth. Even if it was only a little bit.

So he considered where he was. She would have been walking in his direction for the aura to get as overwhelming as it had, so she would have been near him at some point. However, she would have avoided walking in the direction he was facing, so he immediately turned away from the street he had been intending to go down. That left only three more directions. He looked down each way to see which would be the likely option. Assuming she was, in fact, in the right state of mind now--right of course being her normal state, whether that be sane or not remained to be seen--she would probably want to reorient herself into familiar territory, or at least to somewhere where she would not be lost. She seemed the prideful type, and not only that but she already had a dislike of humans, she wouldn't stop to ask for directions and neither would she want to be around them for longer than she had to.

He grinned. He was actually starting to begin to feel like he was understanding the angel. This was an entertaining thought, as well as a slightly disturbing one. But it just meant that this sort of psychological profiling would be that much quicker. Having decided that home was at least on the lines of what she may be thinking, Rennyn set off in the direction he'd come from, hoping she didn't get herself lost on the way. That would just make things more difficult for him.

And besides, he had the keys to the apartment and the landlord didn't like her. She'd have to see him at some point if she ever wanted to get away from all the people.

He wondered which was worse to her--one of him or millions of them? If he wasn't already the answer, he decided, he was definitely going to have to change that. This game was just too fun~

In a park was where Leilah ended up. It wasn't so much that she had been trying for that direction, and after some time, she realized it was the park from yesterday. Well, and this just meant she knew where she was now. She could just wander around nearby for a while, which is what she intended anyhow.

Somehow, she ended up sitting in a swing though, strangely enough. She wasn't actually swinging, just sitting there for the time being. Her feet didn't touch the ground and her fingers were wrapped around the rusty chains. As she closed her eyes, she really just let her senses take hold and observe her surroundings. The air was slightly putrid, but not devastatingly so, feeling purer around the trees. Screams and shouts came from nearby children, parents quietly talking. They were all just so oblivious. And yet, Leilah felt a strange closeness just sitting there. It was nature, she decided. Where the humans hadn't ruined things, the earth was beautiful and whole and pure, and that's what it was.

It was scary how good she had become at lying to herself.

Then of course that sick, demented aura that belonged to the demon had cropped up again and ruined any peace she may have had. In her reverie, she hadn't even noticed the approach until the feeling was like a hit to her gut. Nose wrinkling slightly, she opened her eyes, fully expecting to find a demon a few feet away. Instead, she was startled to see him with hands braced against the swing, just standing there.

"Have you made it your personal mission to ensure you're always around, if not to cause us both misery, then to cause mine?" She asked tiredly, not even feeling up to getting even slightly angry. The peace of just letting everything soak in for a moment had affected her strongly. "Because you are doing an excellent job, either way." She pursed her lips. "Now could you back up? It's hurting my eyes." She would've leaned back except she would fall as the swing had no back.

(I thought long and hard about the ending XD)

Having successfully spotted the angel quite a bit ahead of himself, he slowed his pace. He didn't want to be immediately found out. She navigated herself to the park, the one they'd been in just the previous day, and sat on one of the many swings. Some of the parents looked at her oddly, but she must have been spacing pretty badly because she didn't seem to even notice them. He remained a distance away at first, letting her continue her vacant reverie in brief peace. It was always best to get them when they thought they were safe. That's when you took them by surprise.

So when she looked sufficiently out of it, he began his approach. He expected that this wouldn't go exactly to plan--much like he could sense her he imagined it worked the same in reverse. However, she didn't notice him for awhile. As he neared, he could see the unpleasant scrunching of her face as she sensed him, but still she did not move. And then he was right there, right in front of her face. When she finally opened her eyes, he was satisfied at her surprise. She'd probably thought he'd be a little farther out. He wished, briefly, that she had actually fallen out of the swing, but he knew that was pushing it.

"Misery would be my middle name," he replied cheerfully, "if I had a last name, that is. Can't really have a middle name without a last name. We're the Kumquats, by the way, since I didn't know your last name. Turns out, they need that."

Leilah Kumquat and her brother Rennyn Kumquat. There really was no better option than that, he was certain.

Despite her request, Leilah noticed the demon didn't bother moving even an inch, simply staying in her personal space, and she didn't much like being cornered. The last thing she would do was act cornered though, and instead just sat still like she had been before. It was too bad honestly, because for a moment at least, she had been enjoying herself.

"Kumquat?" She questioned when he mentioned a last name that he had obviously made up. She didn't know a lot of human last names, but she knew most didn't sound so ridiculous. "Isn't that a fruit of some sort?" She snorted a little and suddenly pushed the swing, disappointed when she hadn't pushed off fast or hard enough to knock him over. He had moved though, and so she had gotten what she wanted. To deter him getting any closer, Leilah continue to complacently swing.

"Seems there are some things I was taught that you weren't and vice versa then," she amended with a small snort. "How far-sighted," she muttered sarcastically. Rennyn seemed to have a better hold on this world than she did though, and so she refrained from making further comment on the subject. "So, according to you and whatever yuh had to fill out, we share the last name Kumquat, which I find ridiculous by the way, and we're siblings." She watched him. "Anything else I need to know? No long lost family popping up anywhere?" That would be just what she needed... More effing demons, and she secretly hoped his answer would be negative.

Rennyn's lips twitched, wanting to smirk, but he didn't. He decided not to inform Leilah that he did, in fact, know what a kumquat was. It was more interesting to allow her to believe she knew something he didn't. Really, he got his kicks already knowing that they would be living under such a ridiculous last name. Once upon a time, he'd look up stupid human last names for entertainment. Some of them had been pretty humorous, and he'd really wanted to have one of his own. He felt proud that he now had one, as silly a thing to be proud of as that was.

"I couldn't guarantee that anymore than you could guarantee no angels would be falling from the sky and into our living room," he replied, sticking his hands in his pockets and looking up as said sky, as if expecting one to crash in front of them right there. "But we don't want that, demons are a bit territorial. Holes in the walls would be the least of our problems~"

He decided to lean against the swing's metal pole as Leilah didn't seem to be slowing down. "We should probably go shopping if we're going to continue hanging around the humans, they typically don't like seeing people wearing the same clothes every day for some reason. Unless you want to give up now, that would make things a lot easier on us both." He shrugged his shoulders and turned to the parents that were still occasionally looking at them, probably making sure they weren't up to anything. Because you know, you always have to look out for angels, they like to kidnap children and things of that nature.

Territorial? What in the world would any demon have to be territorial of on earth? Maybe the human's souls, Leilah decided, figuring this demon really wouldn't like it if someone else came along and stole his prey out from under him. She almost thought that would be funny, but then again... it wouldn't include her saving the human, so it wouldn't be at the same time. And he had made it painfully obvious that he wasn't intimidated by her in the least already, so...

"Oh, I can guarantee I'm the only angel," Leilah shook her head. It had been a full day, without any word or sign or anything. She was on her own for sure. She allowed that subject to drop with that line of thought though, as she stopped swinging. It continued to go back and forth without her help, though it did slow down. And she only let this happen because she was satisfied that Rennyn was an adequate distance from her. She didn't even know why he bothered getting as close as he did earlier; considering she was sure neither of them enjoyed it at all. It would definitely take an extremely sick demon to enjoy an angel's light.

"Shopping?" she raised her eyebrows at him. As much as she hated to admit it, he had a point, and she wasn't planning on giving up. That was a foreign concept to her. But actually spending even more time around this demon? That didn't exactly appeal to her. Her swing finally came to a stop. She shook her head. "Go ahead. I'll go on my own." She was denying them going together, but also letting him know she wasn't giving up without saying so in so many words. She was sure he would catch onto it as well, because as far as she could tell, he didn't seem to be stupid. She didn't think they would actually send a stupid demon on a mission to collect human souls anyway; they used those for the fighting. Or at least that was what she would do...

As Leilah responded to Rennyn, he could see the subtle resentment in her eyes. He had already known well that she didn't want to be here, but it must have felt much like a betrayal to her. Rennyn, on the other hand, would have volunteered to go to heaven and back if it had meant that he would move up. Hell was.. hellish, even for demons. You had to be higher up to really enjoy life at all, or at least benefit from it. That and Rennyn had standards to live up to--he wasn't going to fail something as simple as this, and he was definitely going to surpass everyone who looked down on him.

He knew the angel was going to want to be stubborn again, so it was with great difficulty that he shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly and began to walk off. "Oh alright," he said without a care, "have fun shopping with no money then." He knew, or at least assumed, that the angel hadn't been given any funds. Demons were allowed material possessions, and so they never went to earth without currency or some sort of sustenance--clothing, food, a place to live--but angels were not supposed to value such things. They weren't going to have any on hand, or that's how Rennyn saw it at least.

He smirked when his back was turned to her. There were only a few options for her now: give in and go with Rennyn, or be stubborn and stay there. Oh!

"But if you'd like, I can buy everything for you. Can't guarantee you and I have the same taste though," he added with a laugh and began to wander off.

(Sorry this took so long XD)

Of course the demon couldn't overlook anything... Leilah's jaw was clenched, at least a little so that unless you were very close you wouldn't see it. It wasn't just the thought of what he might bring back if she allowed him to leave with the thought of him buying her clothes hanging in the air, but also that he had pegged everything very nearly perfectly. She had hoped sheer obstinacy would aid her in this cause, maybe just once. Despite that she was an angel, patience wasn't one of her virtues, and it was especially so with this demon.

With an acquiescing sound accompanied by the rattling of rustic chains, she had stood up and headed towards the demon. She said nothing -he would figure it out, she was sure- and she swore she could feel the smugness rolling off him in tidal waves. He almost seemed to be radiating light with how happy he was about whatever goal he had set out for and accomplished. "You know, you're an unusually happy demon," she muttered, surreptitiously glancing over at him from beneath her eye lashes. Not to mention she didn't trust him for a minute. Every conversation, every action, it was testing her, gauging her, trying to turn her mind around. Oh, she wouldn't deny she was doing very much the same thing to him, and she was sure he'd realized that much by now as well. Either way -if he did or didn't- he didn't show any signs.

She just wished she knew what his goal was... that would make things so much easier. But no... it had already been made blatantly clear nothing was going to be easy for Leilah.
