Piper had been in the country for a day or so, visiting for the summer with her friend, Finley, whom she had gotten quite close to and eventually had managed to convince her parents to let her fly over the ocean to visit. It was like a dream come true, being with such a wonderful friend in a beautiful country with beautiful people. The whole place was so much different than the little town she lived in back in the States. "Finley, what're the plans for today?" she asked as she took a seat in the living room, all dressed and ready for whatever they were going to do. As usual, she would be fine with anything that they decided to do, because she was just grateful to be able to do this, to be here and just everything. "More sight seeing? Laying around in bed all day?" she asked, fingers playing with the ends of her hair, twirling the curls around and around.
Oliver groaned as he woke, sun shining in his eyes as he remembered he'd forgotten to shut the curtains last night before he went to bed. Minutes passed before he decided he might as well get up since there was no way he'd be going back to sleep - he hardly slept much anymore, insomnia plaguing him most night whether he was on tour or not, so he was used to so little sleep. So he crawled out of bed and showered, shaving his face and getting dressed before heading out the door, pulling a beanie on over his hair. Oliver needed a coffee, the thing he's been relying on as of recently to keep him awake when he needed to be. Even if he was home, he still didn't feel any more relaxed or feel like he was home. Pulling out his phone, he sent a text to a friend, Josh, whom he thought was home as well too and maybe they'd be able to catch up - it'd been a while since they'd been able to hang out. He sent the cafe he was heading too and told him to come get a cup of coffee.

"I'm not really sure to be honest." Finley said, shrugging her shoulders. The petite blonde was so glad that Piper had managed to convince her parents to let her spend the summer with her. Sure, she had other friends that she could have occupied her time with, but she was closer to Piper than she was to them. "I figured we could go get some coffee and then go from there." They'd done quite a bit of sight seeing over the course of the last couple of days, so she wasn't sure exactly what they would do today, but that was kind of the beauty of it, wasn't it? Having all of these endless possibilities and not quite knowing which one to choose. That's how she saw it anyway.
Josh was glad to be home. Yes, he loved touring, and he loved having the opportunity to meet the fans, some new and some old. But, that didn't mean that he didn't enjoy being home every now and again and having some time to himself. Sure, a lot of that free time was spent laying around in his boxers while he played the new Fifa game, but that was besides the point. He was enjoying himself. However, when he saw the text from Oliver, he quickly agreed. He hadn't been able to hang out very much with his friend in, well, he didn't quite know how long. That only proved that they really did have some catching up to do. So, he hauled his ass up off of the couch and got ready before heading out to the cafe.

Piper nodded her had a little, "Sounds great, Finley," she said, smiling. She stood up after a moment, holding her hand out to her friend, "Let's go then, yeah? There's only so many days in the summer." That, and Piper could definitely use a good cup of coffee right then and there, it would be really nice. Whatever they decided after the coffee would be fun and amazing, especially since she would be doing it with such a wonderful friend. Really, Piper wouldn't know what she would do without Finley, even if they had met online, they became friends so quickly and the best of them. It was more like they were sisters than anything else. Finley had always been there for her, for everything, and she for her.
Oliver made it to the little coffee shop a few streets away from his place, ordering his coffee and getting that before taking a seat at one of the tables, making himself comfortable. The good thing about this coffee shop, is that the people who came or worked here either didn't know who he was or didn't care who he, or his friends were and left them alone. He wasn't bothered because he was famous, and was simply treated like someone else. He was yelled at by the quirky barista, Emilie, yelled at him if he missed the trashcan, or said a stupid, snide comment just like she would treat anyone else.

"I'm ready whenever you are." Finley said as she got to her feet, taking her friend's outstretched hand. Piper was right. Summer was much shorter than it seemed. Sure, once school was over, two months seemed like a lot, but it was really only eight short weeks until it was back to college for her. It really, honestly, kind of sucked. She couldn't wait until she went off to uni. She had one more year of college left to go and then she would be free to do whatever she wanted. "There's this lovely little cafe not too far from here." She told Piper as they walked out of her house.
The coffee shop that Oliver had texted Josh to meet him at wasn't very far off from his flat. So, seeing as the weather was actually rather decent, he opted to walk there. Josh had met his friend there on a few occasions in the past, so he knew exactly where it was. It wasn't very long after he'd left his flat that he arrived at the coffee shop. Walking inside, he glanced around, spotting Oliver seated at one of the tables. He ordered his coffee, being sure to leave a tip for the barista, Emilie he thought her name was, before he headed on over to the table, taking a seat across from his friend. "Hey, mate." He greeted Oliver, sending a grin his way.

"As long as the coffee's good," Piper said with a little nod. She was kind of hoping that in her time here that she would manage to pick up at least a slight accent, but she didn't really see that happening. She could still dream, though, and dreaming was definitely something she was good at. Ever since she was little she was always making up little stories and thinking about what the future was going to be like. It never turned out the way she wanted it to, though. She was turning seventeen in a few weeks, but that seemed so far away, and then her eighteenth birthday was so much farther. Was she even going to make it through another whole year before she got freedom? It was so hard now, with her parents smothering her, never really letting her do much of anything and always having to know where she was and how long she was going to be there, if she was even allowed. Which was why she had been so surprised they had let her travel to another country to spend it with someone she had met online.
Oliver grinned when Josh sat down across from him. "Hey, took you long enough," he joked, before taking a sip from his drink. "How's it been? Haven't seen you in forever, or since before Warped back in the 'States," he continued after a moment. Oliver set his cup down on the table before his fingers went to fiddle with his beanie for a few moments, taking it off to shake his short hair out before pulling the beanie on once again. "Been bored out of your mind without me?" Josh had to be one of his closest friends, glad to have met him years ago and have both featured him on his CD and vice versa.

"Would I ever steer you wrong?" Finley retorted, sending her friend a small grin as they walked. She was really glad that Piper's parents had let her stay with her for the summer. She could honestly say that Piper was one of her best friends. It didn't matter that they had met online. She understood her in ways that most people didn't and she'd always been there for her and vice-versa. So, finally being able to hang out face to face was pretty awesome, and they still had a few more weeks together too. "Anything that you've been itching to do since you got here?" She asked Piper curiously as she led her in the direction of the cafe. Maybe ten or so minutes later, they were there. Motioning for her friend to walk inside, she followed her in. "Hey, Em." She greeted the barista. She was in there quite frequently, almost every day after college actually, but since Piper had arrived, not so much.
"I could have easily stayed in my flat, playing Fifa all day if I wanted to. You should consider yourself honored to even be in my presence." Josh joked, taking a sip of his coffee and leaning back in his chair. That was one thing that he really liked about this cafe: the seats were comfy and the place was actually pretty homey too. It was small, but still rather nice nonetheless. "It's been alright, I guess. Can't really complain about anything." He shrugged his shoulders. Really, things had been going pretty great. He'd been doing some touring, and after that, he and the lads had went to Los Angeles to record their new record. "Always." He grinned. "How've you been?"

"You might, actually, to have a good laugh then apologise," Piper said with a little huff, but it was all teasing. She walked down the street, hand-in-hand, with the girl leading the way to the coffee shop. She ducked into the little place after Finley, making sure the door shut softly; the cafe seemed like such a quiet, calm place that it seemed wrong to have even a door slam. Piper only took a quick glance around before heading to the counter, murmuring a little hi to the barista and looked up to the menu to try and decide what to order. When she decided, she went ahead and told the lady what she'd like and pulled a few bills from one of the pockets of her dress to pay.
"You should be honoured I invited you out," Oli replied with a grin, before nodding his head a little in agreement, "Same, really, just working on some new stuff for the 'line," he said. Oliver thought the new clothing was going to turn out grand, but then again, that's what he thought about all of the things he produced. He glanced over to the counter after hearing the little bell above the door chime out, looking at whomever had walked in. His eyes immediately landed on the lighter haired girl, what he saw he quite liked. He wasn't quite sure if he was completely over Hannah, but he could look and enjoy what he sees.

"Hm, I suppose I might do something like that...only if I was really that desperate for a good laugh though." Finley said, sending a small grin her friend's way. She really couldn't see herself doing something like that to Piper though. Sure, it probably would all be in good fun, but Piper really honestly was her best friend. She valued their friendship a lot. Once inside the little cafe, she looked over the menu, trying to figure out what she wanted. "I really don't know why I take ages to decide. I end up getting my usual every single time." She fished some money out of one of the pockets of her jeans to pay. Once she'd gotten her drink, a chai tea latte with skim milk and extra chai, she turned to her friend. "I didn't steer you wrong, did I?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Touché." Josh said simply, not really having another response. Oli had gotten him there. He took another sip of his coffee, nodding at his friend's words. "How's that going?" He asked curiously. Having a clothing line himself, he knew where Oli was coming from, working on new things and all. Of course, DBNO wasn't as well-known as Drop Dead, but it was getting there, and that was all Josh could really ask for at the moment. Noticing his friend's gaze shift, he glanced over just in time to see two girls walking over to the counter. One of them, the one with lighter colored hair, greeted the barista. She seemed to know her on a first name basis like Oli did. "Do you know them?" He asked, his eyes lingering on the brunette for a moment. She was fit.

"You think you're going to try something new and it just doesn't happen," Piper said, before taking a small sip of her drink, being careful not to burn her tongue like she was very likely to do. "Mm, this is fantastic," she hummed, nodding her head in approval. This had to be the best coffee she's ever had - it really was fantastic. She headed over to a table, sitting herself down in one of the chairs, crossing her legs and setting her cup down on the table. She pressed her lips together in thought, trying to think of something they could do. "Hm, maybe we could go clubbing or something tonight, we look old enough anyway, no one'll question us," Piper suggested, eyes bright because it really did sound like a good idea to her. "C'mon, it'll be fun, really."
"Pretty good, I'd say, we've got Tonight Alive coming over to the shop in a few weeks for a signing there, so it's great, actually," Oliver answered with a grin. He was glad everything was going so well with it all: the band, his family, the line, it was all going pretty great, besides Hannah, of course, but he'd rather not think about that one. "Huh?" he asked, hearing Josh after a moment, shaking his head, he continued, "Uh, no, wouldn't really mind to get to know them, though," he said, eyes staying on the lighter haired girl, looking away after a moment. If she'd catch him staring, he'd be considered creepy, not to mention guys covered in tattoos still didn't have the best reputation.

"It's too good to resist, what can I say?" Finley shrugged her shoulders before taking a long sip of her drink. And it was just as delicious as it always was, which was probably why she got it every single time. She was never disappointed when she got it. Maybe that was why she never tried anything else. In a way, she kind of feared change. It was something that she had always feared. Maybe it was because she had dealt with her fair share of change as a child. Her dad left when she was only seven years old, leaving her mum to raise her and her little brother all on her own. Maybe that was all the change that she could deal with. Of course, that was also why she was always mistaken for being older than she really was. She was forced to grow up a lot sooner than most kids her age were. Shaking the thoughts from her head, she followed Piper over to the table, sitting down in the chair opposite her friend's. "I did promise you that we'd go at least once while you were here...."
Josh nodded, taking another sip of his drink before setting it down on the table. "That's great. Glad to hear that things have been going well for you." He said honestly. He knew that his friend hadn't exactly been the same since things had ended with Hannah, so hearing that everything with the shop, and presumably everything else, was going well for Oliver was great. He knew that he didn't have to say anything about Hannah. His thoughts and questions were more than likely implied. And he didn't quite want to ask Oliver about her anyway. He could tell that it was easily still a very sore subject for his friend. "What's stopping you from doing that then?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in question. "You can't exactly get to know her if you don't talk to her, mate." He knew that he might have been being a bit pushy, but he wanted Oliver to move on. His friend couldn't move on if he didn't talk to the girl.

"Then it's settled, we'll go tonight," Piper grinned, glad that they had sorted that all out. She wasn't the best at places like a club where there were loads of drunken idiots that were way too touchy feely, but she was sure that with Finley by her, she'd be okay. Piper looked up when a boy walked over, telling Finley that he thought she looked pretty and asked if he could sit when them. She looked to her friend with a grin and nodded her head slightly, as if telling her to do it. He seemed like a good guy, a bit awkward, but good, so she saw no reason why not to let the boy sit with them. He looked obviously older than them, but she wouldn't say anything about that, just sipped at her coffee.
"Shuddup," Oliver mumbled, shaking his head a little. "Besides, this comes from the guy who needs a bit of liquid confidence to talk to birds," he teased then before taking a sip from his cup. He wasn't even sure if he could go talk to a girl - after Hannah he had been heartbroken for weeks and even if it had been such a long time ago, it still felt like it was fresh there in his heart. Oliver looked over to the light haired girl, pressing his lips together for a moment before standing up. "Alright, alright, I'll go," he said then, figuring if he didn't do anything now, then he never would. So Oliver stood, sorting out his shirt a little (even if he really did look quite messy, he hadn't really done much but shower and throw on clothes before going to meet Joshua) and headed over to the table the two girls were sitting at. "Hello, erm, m'Oliver an' I wanted to tell you that I thought you were really pretty. An', well, I was wonderin' if I could sit with you?" he asked, awkwardly. Oh, Christ, had he really said pretty? It was such a pansy like word; couldn't he come up with anything better than pretty? Really, Oliver had quite a different persona than on stage. He was very outgoing there, but off stage he was this awkward kid with a clothing line and a band that he thought no one really cared for and was covered in a lot of ink. People thought he was threatening looking, but really, Oliver was just a big ol' teddy bear.

"Sounds like a plan." Finley said, sending a smile her friend's way. She didn't get to say anything else on the matter though, because moments later, a boy walked over to the table. She recognized him almost immediately. And it wasn't because of who he was so much as that she had seen him in the cafe in the past. It was always when she was just stopping in real quick to get a coffee before college though, so she never really got a good look at him. Now though she did, and damn was he attractive. She could tell that he was a good bit older than her and Piper, but she wasn't about to say anything of it. She would have had to have been extremely stupid to do so, especially considering the fact that he'd just called her pretty and he was asking to sit with them. The latter honestly took her a moment to process though, her cheeks slightly flushed due to his compliment. "Oh, um thank you." She said quietly, a shy smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "I'm Finley, and this is my friend Piper. Yeah, of course! Have a seat."
Josh let out a soft chuckle, a slight smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. He knew that Oliver knew that he was right. Unless he actually went over to the table and talked to the girl, well, he wouldn't be able to get to know her at all. Of course, a lot of people who only knew Oliver for his band would be surprised to see the singer acting this way over something as small as talking to a pretty girl, but Josh was good friends with him, so he knew how he really acted. He was a completely different person on and off of the stage. "Just talk to her, mate. It isn't that hard." He said before grinning victoriously when he heard his friend agree to go over and talk to her. He watched as Oliver stood before heading on over to the table where the two girls sat.

Piper gave the man, who had introduced himself as Oliver, a small smile as he sat down in one of the empty chairs, seeing his long, lanky limbs shift to get comfortable. When he mentioned his friend, she glanced back just to look at the guy and gods, was he gorgeous. She quickly turned back to Finley and Oliver, and picked up her cup, taking a drink from it and mostly staying silent unless she was needed for some reason. Piper didn't really feel like she needed to interrupt the boy to say anything at all; he was a cute kind of awkward: the boy in the cafe that pays attention to the people around, it seemed.
Oliver grinned, mumbling a thanks as he sat himself down in one of the empty chairs at the table, readjusting himself after a moment to get comfortable. The boy was all limbs, really. "Sorry, m'mate, Josh, kept buggin' me to come over, said I'd never get the nerve to come over and talk if I didn't do it now," he said, pushing a hand back through his short hair before tapping his fingers on his leg, right above his knee. "Erm, you're in here a lot, aren't you? Just stops in real quick to get something to go, yeah?" It was only after he said it for him to realise that she could definitely take that quite wrong; creepy, weird, and stalkerish. "I just... notice you... whenever m'home."

Finley smiled. This guy was extremely attractive, and she found how awkward he was to be extremely cute. She didn't take what he said to be stalkerish or anything like that at all. In all honesty, she was surprised that someone as attractive as he was had noticed her. "You're not always home then?" She asked curiously. She had noticed that he wasn't at the cafe year round. It was sporadic times really. In clusters. When she saw him, she saw him constantly for a few months at a time, but there were also months where she didn't see him at all. She'd always been curious and tempted to ask Em about him, the barista seemed to know him well, but she never really had the nerve to ask.
Josh was honestly quite relieved to see his friend talking to the girl. Oliver really just hadn't been the same since things had ended with Hannah, and it was nice to finally see him moving on, or at least attempting to do so anyway. He sipped his coffee, his gaze flicking over to the pretty brunette seated at the table. And it just so happened that when he looked over to her, she'd turned her head slightly to look at him. He couldn't quite help the smile that formed on his face. She was gorgeous. In all the times he had come to this little cafe with Oliver, he had never once seen her. However, that could just mean that she came when he didn't. He didn't frequent this place like his friend did.

Piper would keep sneaking glances over to the guy that Oliver had called his friend, once meeting his gaze. Gods, they didn't have boys that looked like that back in the states; all pretty smiles and a scruffy face that was attractive and not gross. So she kept stealing looks over to him like some school girl with a crush.
Oliver shook his head. Didn't she know who he was? Bring Me The Horizon was pretty big, as was Drop Dead, did she really no know? If so, then he decided it best to not tell her that he was a very successful musician in fear that any attraction towards him then would only be toward his money. "Uh, no. I go travelling with friends a lot, we're always just picking up and leaving to go on some adventure," he said, thinking that it sounded believable.

Finley took another sip of her drink, nodding at his words. "That's cool." She said, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "I've always wanted to travel, but I haven't exactly acted on it or anything." Truthfully, it wasn't so much that she hadn't acted on it as the fact that her mum was always working, so she had to do all of the things that a mother normally would do for her brother. She helped him with his homework, cooked dinner, cleaned the house and made sure he was out the door and headed to school on time each and every single day. Of course, she had the summers to travel because she didn't have as much responsibility, but it wasn't like she had the money to travel the world or anything. She couldn't ask her mum for it either. She already did so much for her.
Josh couldn't help glancing over to the girl every so often. And when he looked, there were a few occasions where he would catch her looking at him. He would send another grin her way, but he never actually did anything else. It was pretty ironic considering the fact that he had just been getting on Oliver's case about going over to talk to the cute brunette's friend, and yet, he couldn't even bring himself to go over and talk to her friend. Finally though, after some debate, he motioned for her to come over to where he was seated seeing as Oliver and her friend were having their own conversation.

At one point, eyes meeting again for the billionth time as it seemed, the guy motioned for her to come over and sit with him. Biting down on her lower lip fr a moment, she turned back to Finley and told her, "I'll be back in a little bit," before standing up and taking her cup over to the guy and sat down across from him. Christ, he was even better looking closer up. "Hi," she said, a stupid little grin on her lips, "I'm Piper." Her northeaster States accent was so very obvious, even though it was just a slight little twang in her voice, it had to be clear to someone used to hearing all sorts of British accents all the time.
"Travellin's amazing, definitely do so when you get the chance to and you'll never regret it, I promise," Oliver said, and it was true. He loved seeing the whole world, it was just constantly being ushered about and the little sleep that killed him half the time. The other half was missing his family. When Piper had gotten up to move, Oliver looked to where she was heading and grinned bright. "I knew he fancied her." Really, he didn't know, but it was nice to know that his friend would go talk to a girl, maybe flirt a little and not have to have some alcohol in his system.

Finley glanced over to Piper momentarily when she told her she'd be back in a little while. She sent her friend a small smile, nodding before glancing back over Oliver as he spoke. "I definitely will." She said. She'd always wanted to travel, even if it was something small like taking the train into Paris or something. She just wanted to see other parts of the world. As soon as the time came about, she knew that she would do so. She let out a quiet laugh at his later words. "Piper's been eyeing him for a bit now."
Josh couldn't help grinning when he saw her walking over. He was a bit surprised by his own confidence. He wasn't exactly the most forward person with girls, unless of course, he had a couple of drinks with him. Hence, the liquid confidence comment Oliver had made a little while before. He was even more surprised though when he heard the cute brunette's strikingly obvious American accent. It caused the grin on his face to widen even more. "Hey, I'm Josh." He said. "My friend seems to have caught your friend's attention, so I figured you might want someone else to talk to."

"Yeah, thanks for that, I was getting a bit lonely with no one to talk to," Piler replied, a small playful pout appearing on her lips for a moment. "I might need someone else to show me around if he doesn't give her back," she joked then. Oliver seemed to really like her despite just meeting Finley, She was just glad that Finley seemed to take the attention well and actually talk to him. "So, do you go travelling with Oliver over there or are you the one that gets left behind?"
Oliver grinned when she said Piper had been eyeing his mate up. "He had been giving me shit about not coming over to talk to you and it took him this long to get her over there," he said, leaning back in the chair. It was just something Oliver had to tease him about later, and he would, definitely. It was far too much fun not to tease him. "Back on adventures and stuff, what's the one place you really want to go?" he asked then, curiously.
