Philyan Royal Family
The patriarchal head of the family. Always concerned about the future of his children. Very protective which is why none of his older children are married. Strict over them being the best at everything and appears closed off to all. Seen to be very harsh on his eldest son and eldest daughter, more relaxed on his youngest daughter and somewhere between the both for the twins. Has a special place in his heart for his firstborn daughter and eldest son like any father would.
First female born in almost 200 years to the bloodline. Did not take the curse seriously until her two eldest children unlocked each other's curse. Married at sixteen to take over her dying father's throne. Is fearful and constantly worries for her children. Openly loving and is concerned about when they will no longer have the security of the castle walls.
Theodore is the oldest child and was born in December, 1802. He is social and would prefer to be around more social events but is stopped because of their curses. Is close with Genevieve because of the short age distance and prefer to appear strong and confident in front of his siblings. As he's never been assigned the normal duties a crowned prince would have been, he takes being a prince in his stride and jokes around while not taking it too seriously.
CURSE - can project someone else's memory into his own mind. UNLOCKED - when was four, Genevieve told a lie to their nurse and when he touched her hand, he saw the memory of the truth and accidentally tattled on her, getting her into trouble.
Genevieve is the eldest daughter and second oldest child, born on 7 October, 1803. She is smart and intellectual and prefers to spend her time in their library because she rarely gets company there and being around a lot of people overwhelms her. Dislikes having to be present for royal duties and despises the court.
CURSE - once having skin contact with someone, she gets bombarded with all their previous thoughts which is something she cannot cope with. Once having touched someone, she then hears their thoughts whenever they're near. UNLOCKED - just before her third birthday, she touches a family member's hand to try and get their attention to find out the celebrations but instead is flood with their thoughts in her mind, the intensity making her unconscious.
Emmeline was born on 29 January, 1805. She's more social and enjoys being out and about exploring and having fun. Friendly, compassionate and naive at times. Is also really close to her family in the way that she has a special bond with each sibling. She's known as Emmy around family in privacy.
CURSE - can control what the people she touches are feeling and show them what she wants in order to influence that feeling. UNLOCKED - at the age of 4 when Henry has a bad dream and she goes to comfort him but ends up showing him something happy.
Henry was born on 29 January, 1805 and is older than Emmeline by seventeen minutes. He is fairly social and happy and tends not to stray too far away from his sister.
CURSE - is able to speak to people through his mind after having made skin-to-skin contact with them. Has to be within a close proximity to them. UNLOCKED - when he was 6 and playing hide and seek with a stable boy's son and found that he could speak to the boy and found where he was hiding.
Adaline is the youngest child and was born 9 January, 1806. She was something of a loner because Thaddeus and Genevieve had each other, the twins had each other, but she did not have a partner. She enjoys painting and being outdoors, and her horse-riding lessons as well, though her parents don't really care for her going out so much. She's supposed to focus on things that ladies should be learning and doing instead. Other than that, she's fairly calm. Is known as Ada around family in privacy.
CURSE - sees when and how someone is going to die if she has skin-to-skin contact with them. UNLOCKED - nearly three and the family's cat, Sebastian, left a sparrow for her. She brought it to one of her siblings and when they tried to take it from her, she gets hit by the sight of their death as a result of experiencing the dead bird.
Curse Background
Almost 200 years ago the ruling King and Queen were getting on in their age and had only produced a daughter that survived infancy. A tyrant ruler from a section of the kingdom saw that they had no succession line for the throne and knew that it'd be the perfect time the claim the kingdom for himself. Fearful of this, the King ordered his council to search every inch of the kingdom to find a person dabbled in black magic and in the further corner they found Hilldegard, a black magic witch that was in hiding following the persecution of her mother and sister. She was brought to the castle where the situation was explained to her, but still seething from the loss of her family, she warns them of the repercussions that will occur if she gives them a male heir. More concerned with the present, neither the King or Queen worry about that and she succeeds in helping them produce a male heir - with the cure placed on his direct bloodline. "For you who seek the magic that you once persecuted so too shall your daughters feel the effects. Cursed to the blood of this heir, those who bore the first daughter will bare witness to her terror as the magic curses her veins and engulfs any and all her children, from male to female, eldest to youngest. The scars of my sorrow shall run through their blood and only then will they know the price of revenge."
