Thanks! I'm not sure how long to wait for a reply from fitzpleasure, but while we're waiting I thought maybe we could discuss what exactly the ancestor of the black magic witch tells Emmy and Ada about the curse. I know we decided that their mother will die but we didn't detail why she had to and why Ada starts getting sick after leaving the kingdom (I actually had a thought that maybe it could be a consequence of the ones affected by the curse being separated, which would mean the others would have to start developing a side-effect as well which could be amplifying of their ability or whatever!). Detail is also needed about where they're both heading so I can put that in the outline so that it's in one place for everyone to find.

I also had an idea that, depending on how far Ada and Emmy travel and how far away Genevieve goes, maybe Ada and Emmy stumble into that kingdom after visiting the ancestor and are taken before the King as they're assumed to be outlaws/criminals. That way Gen and them could have a talk about the ancestors and maybe a heart-to-heart about how life has changed drastically since war came, before they head off back to Philyan?

Sorry, I never got an alert for this, and I actually had to go back and read a bit about what we've previously discussed so I could remember what all we're talking about XD

As for why their mother has to die... maybe it's because the oldest living descendant of the original family that had the curse put on it has to die for the curse to be lifted from the children? That would sort of make sense I suppose ~at least it does in my mind. I do like your idea about why Ada is getting sick, and it does make sense that the others would develop side-effects as well, but personally... it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The curse I can get... but why would those cursed start getting sick when their separated? I figure the point of the curse is to make them suffer, and it makes sense that if they're separated too long, then they would keep getting worse and might even die, and that just... doesn't make sense to me. I don't know.... did you follow that train of thought at all?

Okay... I have a thought but I'm not sure if it's any good, so feel free to just bash in the whole idea if it's horrible xD so all the children were born with their curse, right? Well, it seems that for everyone, it affects them worse when they're older, as opposed to younger. So my thought was that maybe around the time they hit puberty or whatever you want to call it, sometime between the ages of 12-15 basically, depending on the person, the curse kind of... strengthens I guess? But no one ever really notices the correlation between the time they're getting sick and what's happening with the curse because kids get sick. Well, what if that's what's happening with Ada? I think we agreed she's around 14, so she could just be considered a 'late-bloomer' or whatever you wanna call it.

I think it would be a good idea also for them to stumble into the kingdom Genevieve is sent to! Maybe on the way to their destination, something pushes them around it, like a storm or whatever gets them disorganized, but they end up on the path they were supposed to be on when they're heading back and that's how they end up in that kingdom.

As for kingdom names... even though I still need seven for another story of mine xD how about for where they're heading, the name Aegle? And for where Genevieve will be heading to... Kuuntala or Kratharsis?

Yeah, that makes sense. After all the curse was for the first female born to the bloodline and she was the first female so even though she had no curse, her having children made the curse come to life. Had she not had children, the curse would have expired with her but alas, she had five. XD Wait...you say it doesn't make sense to you but then you say that it makes sense if they're separated too long then it would get worse? Which is basically what I said unless I misunderstood you??

That makes sense. Adaline, according to the dates we have, turned 15 in the January of the same year this is set in. So she could be a late bloomer because some girls definitely don't go through puberty and get their period when they're 11 and have to wait until they're 15 or even older. Because of the hormones that are raging during puberty, it definitely make sense for it to affect how their curse is because everything seems to amplify during that time, like emotions, body growth, etc. so the curse growing stronger or making them ill as the hormones change sounds plausible.

So a storm, perhaps, and they have to take cover immediately, which takes them off their path and because of going off path, maybe it makes them have to go through the kingdom Genevieve has been sent to briefly in order to get to the other and find the ancestor, and then once they've found her, talked to her and found out that their mother must die, they go back the way they came as they've been there/are familiar with it and are picked up there by the King's guards?

Aegle sounds okay, as does Kratharsis. Maybe Aegle is to the south east of Philyan and Kratharsis is to the south but there's some land that one would think belongs to Aegle when it actually doesn't and instead belongs to Kratharsis which is how come they travel through it and are picked up?

Haha im so sorry I'm so confusing xD I just go with what's going trough my mind XD I think I started to say aspects of it would make sense if that's what we went with, but over all, I didn't think it made sense.

And I'm glad my idea sounds plausible! I wasn't sure if it was going to be any good when it popped up in my head, but you never know if your idea is good if you don't ask.

As for what you say about the kingdoms, that all sounds good to me! I think we have a plan for this story ^-^ hopefully, at least.

Also, how much longer do you figure we should wait on fitzpleasure?

Ahh, right. Well it's fine to not go with it and instead have Ada a late bloomer to make sense why she starts getting ill/her gloves not working as she travels.

I'm not sure. The last thing he was active on was this thread in April (the 16th, to be precise). His last activity before that was four months ago when he posted his chapter for this story. Maybe if we wait until the 16th of this month (which is ten days away) because then he would have been away from Mibba for three months and we can safely say that he probably won't be active any time soon for this story. If that happens, the outline will have to be altered slightly to accommodate any important things that were suppose to happen in his chapters unless we go back to how it was supposed to be before he joined and I take up the eldest brother's chapter and just change name and curse. After all, it would look weird to just have one Thad chapter and no more if he doesn't come back.

Okay. And if you want, I can take up his chapters instead since I generally have a lot of free time. Because you're right about only one Thad chapter looking weird. Just a warning though, I might not have as much free time after the 16th though. My sister is getting her tonsils out that day, so I'll have to get her food and stuff. But other than that, the next month should be smooth sailing for me, over all. School starts early august, and it'll be hell considering I'm a senior, plus it's a new school, plus I'll have a ton of advanced classes -even worse than last year. But other than that, mibba is basically my social life, so like I said, I should have plenty of time xD

I'm free pretty much up until September 21 when I move into my uni accommodation for my first year. I'm actually planning on pre-writing a lot of Genevieve's chapters now so I'll be fine with taking his chapter if his author doesn't come back - unless you want to take his chapters, which I'm fine with.

I don't really mind either way, honestly. I was offering since I know most people don't tend to have as much free time as I generally do.

Haha, I'm the same actually. I don't do anything with my holidays except for become a hermit and live on the Internet. XD We could wait until the 16th and if he hasn't been active, we decide then who takes the extra character.

Okay, that sounds fine to me! I sort of feel bad discussing this when there's a good possibility he might come back but.... He's been inactive for a while. I would die if I couldn't get on mibba for more than a couple of weeks xD

He could come back in a month's time or even three weeks' time and by then we would have decided who would be writing for the eldest brother and replaced him. I mean, it's been two weeks since my chapter, almost three months since he was last online and I don't want this story to drag on for longer than necessary. Like, I get being busy and not being able to get on but I dunno, it'd be nice to be told so that we're not left clueless like now.

Yeah, that's true. When stories drag on more than they're supposed to, people tend to get disinterested in writing for it ~or I've noticed that with group-writes at least. And I don't think people should do them unless they want to commit for real. That's why I try to only rarely do them, and when I do, I put all I have to them.

Also, sorry I didn't reply until 'til now Facepalm I wasn't getting most of my alerts for mibba. Now I'm getting most of them, but I still have some every now and then that just never show up for some reason.

That is exactly what happens with group writes because sometimes we have to wait for three other people to update and if that takes three months or longer it's really easy to lose interest. I love doing group writes and co-writes but a lot of the time the other people flake out which is disappointing, or people just don't reply to my posts for a co-author which is sad too.

The alerts are temperamental at best. It's been eating some of mine lately.

Yeah, it's pretty bad... I had one story where we planned everything out in detail, and then the guy just... disappeared. So I had the plan but I wanted it to be a co-authored story, so I had to post it back to the co-author thread. Luckily, someone messaged me, and now we've completed the story and we're going to write the sequel soon ^-^

Yeah, it really sucks... I literally subscribed to this thread to make sure I know if someone posts, whether I get the alert or not XD

It's annoying when that happens. Something like that has literally just happened to me as well. I've been really into royalty and conspiracies so I've been wanting to do co-writes, so someone messaged me, we planned quite a nice backstory and such and I was so looking forward to it...but now she's just dropped off the face of Mibba and I'm stuck with this lovely co-write idea with no one to write with because it seems not many people like writing about royalty and conspiracies.

I'm not subscribed to this, but I'm always on the forums and pretty much always have a reason to frequent this forum so I see whether someone's posted in here or not.

Oh geez, that sucks... as for your idea, maybe we could switch to messages and you can tell me about it? I'm not someone who generally sticks to specific ideas... I'm usually a fantasy/sci-fi writer, but I love medieval-type stuff as well, which is how I came across this. Anyway, along with that, I love amazing characterization and plot, and I'm sort of curious about your idea! Maybe I could work on it with you?...

Haha well, that's good! I'm on forums a lot, but I'm scatterbrained and sometimes just forget, so I've made it a habit to check my 'my mibba' page and subscribe to anything important. I'm always deleting unimportant stuff from there, but it helps me keep up with what I need to keep up with.

It was actually a fantasy setting, with mythical creatures, if you still want to switch to messages?

I lurk a lot so I tend to visit most of the forums during my roam of Mibba, which means I generally stalk interesting conversations as well. tehe

So, it's now the 16th and he hasn't been active as far as his profile indicates. Are you still wanting to take the character or should I? I don't mind either way, I'm just free and could figure out a new elder brother in a few days. I think, to be fair, it should be a completely new character and once he's created, we can change the name in our other chapters while chapter four is being re-written to accommodate him instead of Thad. Then after that is done (as it's probably better to be changed before the next chapter is posted) we can alter the outline if it needs to be changed (which I assume it would be).

I think you better take the character.... my sister got her tonsils out today, and so I'm a slave for the foreseeable future XD anyway, it sounds like a plan I suppose. It makes sense that a new character would be made since we didn't know what was planned for Thad...
