Yeah, I can see the king being kind of closed off seeming to his kids, maybe portrayed as overly harsh. I think most dads seem like that to their kids though honestly xD I think he should act a little tougher on Genevieve and Thaddeus, since their the oldest, though they're special to him to because they are his first. Maybe he's softer on Ada since she's youngest, and the real tension is between him and Emmy and Henry. It would kind of make sense if you thought about it...

Yeah, I could see him being toughest on the eldest two and being more softer on the younger child.

I'm going to write up a personality tonight for the King and Queen and let you know when I've put them up so that you can all check them over and add anything you want.

So I've just got the bios of the King and Queen up if you'd like to check them out. I also added names just for the sake of having names but they are open to change so if you have a better name for either, feel free to tell me and I'll change them. They also need pictures so if you find any, just pop them in this thread but if not I'll find some.

As soon as the bios and names are confirmed, we can progress onto plot as characters will be out of the way!

What about Danton for the kings name? Nothings wrong with James but everyone else's name is very unique I think and James seems too common. The bios look great, ill be on the lookout for pictures.

Yeah, James is a bit common but it probably came into my head because whenever I think of royalty I think of my country's monarch and we've had a King James. But Danton sounds great! I'll change it to that unless someone suggests another name that we all like as well.

I think the tension with the middle kids seems like a good plan, because you know where everything lies with the eldest and youngest, but with the middle children sometimes it's confusing how you should treat them, so I think it'd be a good plan to have some softer as well as harsher parts to the way the king treats the twins.

Yeah, that's why I put that he's somewhere in between how he is with the eldests and the youngest with the twins.

Alright guys, so plot. Anyone have any plot ideas to throw out to the rest of us?

How do you all feel about a war going on at the same time?

Between their kingdom and another? Or more kingdoms? It could work.

Between their kingdom and another. Maybe not in the beginning but somewhere in the plot to give the story some conflict. We know the kids are trying to discover the origin of the curse and whatnot.

It could be brewing at the beginning, with maybe talk about it among their parents, so that it doesn't just spring up in the middle of the story.

I'm so sorry guys. I have semester exams coming up and December is honestly my busiest >_<

What would fhe war be over? That's something we would want to think of... And I think tension in the beginning between the two kingdoms turns to war later on would make sense...

Uhh, what about the other kingdom is smaller, and had been rising in power lately? They want some more territory for their people and that starts to cause tension between the kingdoms... Maybe after that and after they refused, one of the children is kidnapped or something? I think it would be a good cause for some fighting...

Yeah or the king tries to marry off one of the daughters to the prince of the rival kingdom to ease tensions and combine the kingsdom but it backfires

War can be started over anything , such as land, power, money, loyalty and honour. What if the newly stated King of the smaller kingdom feels it's his honour to reclaim land that the queen's grandfather took from his grandfather?

Okay guys, I really want this planned and plotted by next Monday which gives us just over a week to do it which is fine. I understand if you have exams and/or are busy, but it really shouldn't take much time until we get to the chapter outlines.

I like the idea of the new king trying to reclaim honor! Maybe the reason some of the kids leave the castle can be that the king is trying to smooth things over and sends a few of the children and then they find out that their powers still work outside of the castle.

How would that work though? The king wouldn't send his children to do a messenger's work and especially not if they're overprotective of them. If a war happens, Thaddeus could be obliged to have to leave the castle as the older son to help assemble the army with his father so that could be when they find out that his curse isn't linked with the castle only.

Yeah, they already don't exactly want their kids outside of the castle, and personally, if I was on the brink of war, I would be bringing my kids closer, keeping a better eye on them.
I think what you suggested with Thaddeus and the army makes some sense though. He's the oldest son, next in line to take the throne, and would have certain responsibilities.
