Almost Human

It starts off in 2048. John Kennex (Karl Urban) is a detective who's been through a trauma and has just woken up from his two year coma. With a prejudice against androids, he's less than pleased to find out that it's mandatory for him to be partnered with one. He's partnered with a different model from the standard logic based ones - Dorian (Michael Ealy) was created to be as close to human as possible, including emotional responses. Together, they solve crimes.

It airs Monday nights on FOX at 8/7c.

Unfortunately I kind of suck at writing summaries but I absolutely adore this show! I think it's pretty good just starting out, and I can't wait to know more about the characters. Does anyone else watch this show?

I hope you do! I've really been loving it so far. It has a lot of scifi but it also has some good crime mysteries each episode if you're not as into that part of it.

How much are you adoring this show? The grouchy detective has been done a million times but I have all the time in the world for Kennex's moods and Dorian's sass.

Also it's nice to see Mackenzie Crook back on tv not playing a complete creep or moron.

Soooo much. It's quickly become one of my favorite shows on air right now - it's only competition for #1 in my heart is Elementary, tbh - and even though certain procedural tropes may be overuse (like Kennex as the grouchy detective), I feel like the scifi aspect of it gives the show a fresh feel. Plus all the tech is really cool. Kennex and Dorian are awesome together, and I can't wait to see them develop and grow and get even better.

I didn't even recognize Mackenzie Crook from what I've seen of The Office UK and POTC, tbh. I adore Rudy, and I hope we see more of him soon.
