    Rain pounded on the roof of the silver car, barely allowing him to see the road ahead of him. It was Friday afternoon, just past 5 p.m. It had been raining nonstop since the day before and seemed as if the water supply was endless. Kade managed to survive the waterfall and turned left onto South, then pulled into the circle drive of his best friend's home. He threw the hood of his jacket over his head and shut off the ignition, then bolted to the front door. It was locked. Ringing the doorbell like a mad man, he waited impatiently for somebody to let him in.

    Sebastian was laying in bed, playing some video game his mother had gotten him for his birthday this year, bored out of his mind. Sure, he should be writing the paper over the Civil War for his bitch of a teacher, but there was no way in hell he was going to be able to go and write five pages about some shit that happened at least a hundred, or more, years ago. He didn't care about school and school didn't care about him. If he wasn't a jock or a super popular slut, they didn't care. Just because he wasn't a A plus (or even a C plus) student, he didn't get the help he needed.

    He was bullied, relentlessly. It was okay to where he could handle it, just little snide comments here and there. But when he came out as gay, he was basically alone. What little 'friends' he had left, turning their backs against the schools 'fairy.' Fucking bullshit, he didn't need them anyway. His thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell ringing over and over again, quirking a brow. Nobody was home, and his parents wouldn't ring the doorbell before they came in. Duh, they lived here.

    Sighing, he paused the game and jogged down the steps. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" He huffed, making his way to the door before opening it, raising his eyebrow when he saw his brothers best friend. "You do know Eric's not home, right?"

    [gaaah, sorry this is so long.]

    { are you wanting our posts to all be longer or were you just adding plot information? }

    The rain began to seep through Kade's jacket. Not much a rain coat I guess, he thought. When the door finally opened he pressed past Sebastian and shrugged off the jacket. Shaking the water out of what hair had gotten wet. Kade grunted at Sebastian's words, "oh yeah, I knew he wasn't here. I just wanted to spend time with you." He frowned and rolled his eyes. Of course he didn't know Eric wasn't home. What other reason would he have for coming to his house. Sure as hell not to see Sebastian; not that he had a problem with him, they just weren't friends. Still, with no interest of driving home in the rain, he tossed his jacket on the rack and spoke, "do you know when he will be home then?"

    [Was just adding plot ^^]

    Sebastian snorted, rolling his eyes. Now he knew why he didn't like Eric's friend, he was such a sarcastic asshole. It would be better if he was actually funny, but he was just an asshole. "He's with his new girlfriend, so god knows how long he will be gone." He waved his hand in the air, waving it off. Eric could be gone for hours, especially when he had a girlfriend to entertain. Eying kade, he watched the other toss his jacket on the rack and sighed, closing the door behind him. As tempting as it was to throw him out and tell him to come back tomorrow, or later on tonight, he didn't.

    Perfect, Kade thought to himself. He knew exactly how it was when Eric was out with his girlfriends, always someone new and more obnoxious and promiscuous than the last. He could either drive home now in the rain and risk death, or stay here and wait around for the weather to permit. Of course, waiting outweighed the risk. He sighed and kicked his shoes off, "if you don't mind, I'll just make myself at home." Not that it really mattered whether Sebastian minded at all, this house was basically Kade's second home. Kade sauntered over to the living room couch and plopped down, eyes scanning the room for the remote.

    "As long as you're not being annoying, I don't really care." He said, walking into the kitchen and grabbing a can of coke out of the fridge, opening it and taking a long swig from it. Looking over into the living room, he rolled his eyes and cursed himself for being way too nice. It was weird, though, being alone with his older brothers best friend. They never really spent much time together, especially alone. Hence why he was Eric's best friend, not his. "Hey, um.. want to come in my room and play xbox? I have a bunch of games we can play while you wait," Sebastian offered, trying to be nice to his brothers friend.

    Kade grumbled as he gave up on searching for the remote. He turned around to Sebastian's voice, "uh, yeah sure." He didn't really want to but considering the circumstances, why not? Other than the fact it was weird as hell for Sebastian to offer. It's not like he really had anything better to do after all. He got up from the couch and walked to the kitchen where the other stood. "Could you grab me one of those?" he nodded at the coke, only asking because Sebastian still stood in front of the fridge and was in the way of Kade retrieving one for himself.

    Sebastian just nodded his head, giving him a mumbled "Sure," before turning around and leaning down, grabbing another one. He was sure the other would decline, saying he was better downstairs, but was surprised when he wanted to join him. But, he knew Kade would be waiting a helluva long time down there by himself since Eric could easily be gone until midnight. As he started heading up to his room, he handed Kade the can of coke and started trailing up to his room, sure Kade would be following.

    He had a weird feeling about this.

    For whatever reason, Kade felt awkward about going to Sebastian's room now. He was pretty sure Sebastian didn't even like him at all, of course, it had never mattered to him. He knew the offer wasn't really an offer, just a kind gesture, but he really wasn't up for waiting around downstairs alone without even a television to watch in the meantime.

    Kade accepted the can and followed Sebastian up the stairs. In Sebastian's room, Kade felt even more out of place. He'd never actually been in there before. Aside from the times he and Eric would sneak in to prank Sebastian during the night when they were younger. He looked around at the walls and posters hanging on them, making a mental note of everything it said about Sebastian. Kade realized he really hardly knew Sebastian at all. They didn't talk much, and they never hung out, not without Eric around. Even though he technically knew him forever, everything Kade thought he knew of Sebastian was very surface level

    Sebastian took another swig of his drink, setting the can down on a coaster that was on his dresser, grabbing some games he thought the other would be interested in. It was kind of awkward, being around somebody who he's been around almost his whole life, but never really gotten to know. Yeah, they knew each other and stuff, but that was just the bare minimum. Age, name, some foods he liked that their mom cooked, stuff like that. But he never knew any deeper things, personal stuff nobody but Eric would probably know, they never shared inside jokes or really any jokes at all, things that made friendship up entirely.

    "I don't know what all you like, so just.. pick something out, I guess." He shrugged his shoulders, laying the selection of games he had. A few of them were shoot 'em up games, some were racing games, and fantasy type games. It really varied. A lot of the games he had gotten were birthday presents, or stuff he himself had managed to get himself. Scratching the back of his neck, he picked his can back up and drank from it.

    Kade eyed the games laid out before him, raising an eyebrow at the fantasy games. Honestly, it had not surprised him much that they would be the type of games Sebastian played, he was so much different than Eric. "This?" He'd never actually played any of them before, although he had heard of them, they were fairly popular. Whenever he and Eric had played though, they always tag teamed on COD or things like that. Eric wasn't really much of one for imagination or creativity Kade had noticed, not that he was either. But since trying new things seemed to be the theme of the day, Kade picked up one of the fantasy games and tossed it at Sebastian.

    He took a drink of his coke, or rather a gulp, and set the can down between his crossed legs. He grabbed himself a controller and waited for Sebastian to put the game in. He could tell Sebastian must have felt weird about Kade being in his room, or doing anything with him for that matter, because he continuously rubbed at the back of his neck. Kade simply gave a small smile and turned to the TV in front of him.

    He nearly laughed when Kade instead picked up one of the fantasy games he owned, tossing it at him. It seemed like something Kade would never want to play, but wasn't going to argue when he picked it out. Instead, Sebastian put down his can of coke and bent down to open the drive, sliding the disc in it and closing it. He too grabbed his own controller and sat down on the edge of his bed, waiting for the game to load in. This was one of his favorite games ever, something he played more often than others. The single player mode was amazing, so he wondered what the multi player was like on this thing.

    "Didn't know you like these kind of games," he said with a shrug of his shoulders, grabbing for his can and took another swig of it, setting it back down once done. That sounded dumb, though, because there was a lot he didn't know about Kade.

    Kade moved so he sat on the floor with his back resting against the bed. He sat patiently as Sebastian put the game in and watched the screen as the game loaded, sipping at his pop as he did so. Kade had no idea what the game was really about, or even why he had picked it other than spur of the moment. He let out a breath of a laugh and shrugged his shoulders back at Sebastian. "Me either," he motioned towards the figures on the screen as a slightly confused look formed on his face, "I have no idea what this is, so don't get pissed when I suck." Kade frowned as he realize maybe he should have picked a different game, what fun would it be if he couldn't figure it out. Although, how different could it really be to what he was used to playing.

    Sebastian laughed, shaking his head. "Nah, man, you gotta start from somewhere right?" He flashed the other a small smile before putting his own controller down, reaching over and grabbing a few of Kade's fingers, moving his hands around to the appropriate buttons. "You'll only need these buttons," he told the other, putting his two index fingers on the trigger and keeping his thumbs on the analog sticks to move his character around. "Y is to jump, B is to block, A is a special attack, and X is to select a weapon type thing." He explained the directions and such.

    He smiled back at Sebastian's; he had one of those smiles that were contagious. One that made other people smile, happy. At Sebastian's touch a sliver of something shot through Kade's fingers, traveling up his arm and stopping somewhere in his chest. He tensed up slightly before quickly pushing the feeling away and disregarding that it ever occurred. Hearing really only half of what Sebastian said, Kade nodded and looked down at the controller. "Okay, easy enough," he smiled again.

    As the game began, Kade figured out how to maneuver his character and caught on quickly to the idea of the game. Even though he wasn't a pro player yet, he was doing better than he thought he would. The game was actually pretty fun and Kade was starting to get really into it, "this isn't half bad," he thought out loud. Who would have thought.

    [so I was thinking here in a little bit a little kissy scene can happen, right when Eric gets home? c; if you want!]

    Licking his bottom lip, Sebastian picked up his controller and began the game. He was surprised to see that Kade was actually doing pretty good, especially for someone who had just started the game. But then again, Kade wasn't stupid or anything and he played video games all the time, so it wasn't like he was completely new, he understood the whole concept. He had always seen kade and Eric playing video games when they weren't hanging out around town. Groaning as he died a few times, he tried stepping up his game a little bit to kill the big enemy that was looming over them, sighing.

    "You're better than I am when I first started playing, damn." Sebastian muttered, shaking his head as his fingers glided easily over the controls, trying to defeat the enemy. It actually wasn't so bad, sitting here and being alone with Kade. It was easy, and he wasn't as much of an asshole as he originally thought.

    In playing, Kade found himself trying extra hard to play well, in hopes of impressing Sebastian. He didn't really know why he felt the need to impress him, although he supposed it was something to do with ego and the fact of being older. Kade joined Sebastian in the grumbles of not defeating the enemy and winning at the game, taking drinks of his coke while he waited for his character to reload. This was honestly better than playing with Eric, who would get pissed if he died or Kade messed up. Sebastian really wasn't so bad to be around and Kade wondered why they had never hung out at all before now.

    He smiled at Sebastian's comment, looking over at him, "of course I am," he joked right before dying yet, again. He laughed at his relentless efforts.

    {How about yes }

    [gotchaa]

    Sebastian laughed, reaching out with his hand and placed it on Kade's shoulder, shoving him playfully. "Don't be such a cocky asshole," he said with a small smile, finishing off the last of his coke before reloading his character, sighing. This was actually fun, more fun than he ever thought he could have with Kade. It was odd how they had never hung out before, or at least held a long conversation with each other. They were alike in a few ways, and it was nice actually having somebody to play video games with. Sebastian didn't really have much in the way of friendships, so it was kind of nice to have somebody here with him, and seemed to enjoy his company.

    "I bet you've died way more than I have," he said with a small pout, impressed at how much better he was doing than Sebastian could have ever expected.

    Kade was surprised but pleased with the fact they were getting along so well, and how much fun he was actually having with Sebastian. He thanked himself for accepting the offer to play that he had questioned earlier, realizing how lame it would have been to have stayed downstairs this whole time.

    He laughed as Sebastian pushed his shoulder. "Hey," he said with a grin, "it's not being cocky, it's being confident." It seemed like they had been playing forever by the time Kade felt his legs falling asleep and stood up. He stretched them out while still trying to keep his character alive and turned away from the TV briefly to check for an open spot on the bed to sit. Kade didn't bother arguing Sebastian's side comment about their death rates but instead nodded in agreement, "you're probably right about that one." Kade didn't care that he wasn't the greatest, he was just happy with the fact Sebastian didn't seem to care either.
