Heaven and Hell have been at loggerheads for as long as anyone can remember. In the shadows, both sides strike with precision and deadly intent. For years, the battle has raged on in silence, with no one on Earth aware that one of the biggest wars of their time is bubbling underneath their feet. Both sides work tirelessly to ensure that the mortals aren’t dragged into the war, but action by one side forces the other to show their hand. A full-scale war breaks out before long.

The angels and the demons have never been safe, but for the first time, the human race are in grave danger as well.

Angels

Encratia

A high-ranking Angel who works behind the scene with the fighting and is never seen out in the open. After a high-ranking commander dies, she is promoted to the strategic position that was once his and is now authoritative over a section of front-line soldiers. The job also entails her to organise and command small groups of Angels who would go into the heart of the Demon's side and damage it in anyway before being killed. Basically suicide missions. She's strong-willed and will do anything to serve their Father.

Othniel

A dedicated soldier, Othniel knows no other life than keeping Heaven safe from those that dwell below. Throughout the years, he has been a constant in the force battling the demons in the shadows. Although he is highly intelligent and very methodical, Othniel lacks the emotional aspect that makes some of his brothers and sisters compassionate warriors, but gives him the upper edge on many in battle.

Pyros

A mid level demoness with a particular affinity for fire. Devil may care attitude (and she really wants the devil to care mind you). One of the many illegitimate children of Lucifer, she wants to be considered high than she is. Cut throat, witty and convincing, she'll do anything to get her fathers attention and favor -- even murdering his most favored child. When she learns of the relic she immediately wants to be the one to secure it without caring who she has to cut down to do it.

Orias

Orias is ruthless. As one of Hell’s High Command, he finds himself making decisions that do not only affect the opposition, but can cause his own soldiers to be killed as well. He loves his job – in fact, he could think of nothing better to do than to cause havoc on both sides. Despite his apparent lack of care for anything, Orias has a soft spot for his fellow High Command demons. Any attack on them is an attack on him and he would wholeheartedly fight to the death for them. His main aim is retrieving the relic, as he would like to see Hell with powers that he could only dream about. It doesn’t matter how many of his own go missing in the process because as long as he can feel the relic in his own hands, he is happy.

One (Othniel | Victoria) :
Othniel is on the front lines of a battle between the angels and demons, watching the chaos from a safe perch out of sight. His orders to approach the fight have not been confirmed, so he is waiting patiently. Another of Heaven's soldiers stands beside him and mentions how horrific the loss of life will be when the battle is over. Othniel shrugs this off, carefully reasoning that the loss of life is necessary. One life to save thousands.

Two (Pyros | MeMe):
Pyros hears about the battle right before it's almost over. By the time she gets there it's a wasteland of angels and demons. She finds one of the commanders of hell's army and another demon leader crouching over him. The dead commander was one person she thought she could call friend and often helped her in her quest to become beloved of her father. She screams at the other commander and it's put in her place. She wasn't told to come to battle because she would lash out rashly. She leaves with wounded pride, a heavy heart and a vow. She would avenge her fallen friend and bring the relic to her father.

'Ello! I'm Victoria and I like long walks on the beach (no I don't), pina colada (no I don't) and getting caught in the rain (no, I don't). I'm super-stoked to start this up though! I'd like to get to discussing straight away, so that we can get everything in place and start writing ASAP!

So first things first, anyone got any input on the overall plot? I'm thinking angels as in Supernatural-esque angels - all warriors and war and none of the angelic stuff they shove down throats at Christmas in the local church. Same with demons. Both sides would be blood-hungry. We also need to decide who starts the whole full-scale war thing and how the do it. I was thinking some form of high-ranking official being killed during business on Earth, but that's quite naff so eh.

Also, what would everyone like to be? I'd prefer to be an angel but if anyone has a specific preference that involves an angel, I'm happy to swap (but I really want to write a Castiel-esque character ). We need one of each (unless anyone wants to double-up characters, which we could do, or we could recruit more writers - up to you guys) so essentially, a human, a demon and an angel. Or we could just do demons and angels, in which case we'd need another writer to even things out. Again, let me know what you think.

I would like to write from the point of view of the demon (if no one else calls dibs).

On the topic of how the war begins, we could have said official be put in a position where they are forced to show themselves on television or at a concert or some type of large crowd. If it's an angel in that position maybe they have to show themselves in order to save the humans. If it's a demon, maybe they have to show themselves to save their own life because of a poison that will kill them in any form but their own. Maybe one or the other is seen with a human. Whether protecting or hurting them. Humans of course would have to decide who to back up, the angels or the demons, or to just stay out of it until it blows over (they hope)

I have only seen snippets and random episodes of supernatural but I get what you mean about warrior angels and blood thirst ones and all that.

I can't wait to get started!

Hello! I'm Kayleigh. I'm super big on grammar and will always question something that doesn't make sense just because I like everything, no matter how supernatural, to make sense.

To be honest, I think it'd be best if we didn't write from the human side because that's always written about and maybe just once that side should be in the dark in the writing. Or it could just be because I'm a bit late to the game and one of you wants Angels and one of you wants Demon.

And to make things clear for me, the angels and demons have been fighting but never on Earth (or at least never around humans) but when either a high-ranking demon/angel is on Earth for business (like what?? seeking out a special relic or looking for a human that's actually not a proper human, like in SPN?) they are killed by the otherside because why would they ever let a high-ranking one like that go? And even though none of the sides care that much for humans (like in SPN?) that's when they declare war and become more concerned with obliterating the otherside rather than keeping the humans from getting hurt, thus why it puts their world in grave danger as people are carelessly getting killed through the fighting the two are doing.

Sorry for being so late in replying, I've got so much uni work to finish for this week.

I like the idea of having the view from just angels and demons too, to be honest. I'll look for one other co-author so I'll need to know what you want to write as, Kayleigh, just so I know what to say the part we're looking for is. (wow that sentence made no sense whatsoever). I've updated the character bios for who we're writing for just now as well!

I was thinking the humans would kind of be in over their heads if they were involved anyway because they don't have nearly enough firepower to fend off anything like that, so I thought they'd hide away.

Yup - the angels and demons have been fighting for years, but never around the humans, but something (again, not too sure what, which is why I wanted to discuss that - I like the relic idea actually) draws someone high-ranking to Earth, where the other side jumps on the chance to kill a high-ranking official (like you said Kayleigh, why would they let them go when they had the chance to kill them?). If they were to fight, I'd assume that both sides would be more concerned for the wellbeing of their own and the obliteration of the other side than a bunch of people that haven't sided with either and wouldn't be much use - why would you care about saving what could be considered a lesser species?

Definitely an angel. But if push comes to shove, two from each side isn't a necessary, y'know?

If it is a relic, it could either be important to just one side or to both and normally high-ranking officials don't get involved in the fight itself because that's for the warriors, so there's never normally a chance to kill one and if they manage to do it now, it gains them favour on their side. I'd see that as well but also, I could see that the warriors would be replaceable, y'know, so although they would care it wouldn't matter so much if one of them died which is why the war goes out of control when someone high-ranking gets killed.

Humans are nothing but the dumber, weaker species because hello, Angels and Demons here.

Aye, not necessary but it helps with my insistence to have everything even. I think we've got someone anyway so that makes all of the numbers even.

Yeah, I was thinking it'd be important to both sides, which is why they'd send someone of higher power out to get it - why would they risk sending some low-ranking soldier out and losing it? Yeah, the warriors are just that - warriors and losing them is sad, but necessary. I remember being told a quote once about something to do with war and casualties being necessary in second year but that was like 7 years ago now so who knows what it was.

Exactly. Who'd want smelly humans when you've got the warriors of God and Satan's hell-hounds wandering around?

I haven't done a co write in a really long time but when I heard there were demons and angels involved it easily sparked my interest. I've been a fan of supernatural for years but I stopped watching after season six because I lost interest in the show D: I still love the show because it had helped get story ideas for my own work. If you've read or have not read my works then may I suggest you do to have an understanding of my writing? Anyways I'm super excited about this!!!!

I like writing scary characters and complicated ones :) I prefer being a demon because look how much fun they have messing with the humans and other creatures around them :)

So yeah I think I would be good writing as a demon: one that either wears a meat suit or has the ability to shape shift that way she's able to mess with everyone that can't see through her tricks would fall for traps and has a scary sense of humour too. I think too this character should be one that they demon side uses when they need help. Kind of like Envy from Full metal Alchemist or even Alucard from Hellsing. I like to write a character that can be scary but also can play innocent you know?

I like the idea for this story too by the way, I think yeah the demons and angels fought away from humans but then someone high and powering gets killed and that breaks out war but I also like having an item that made would make those whoever side gets it, becomes the more powerful side :) what do you think?

Exactly! Like, the low-ranking warriors are good for fighting and winning the war, but collecting something valuable? Um...maybe not. Was it something like you cannot win a war without having a few casualties? Or something like that? 'Cos I've heard something along those lines too.

I can totally understand losing interest in the sixth series because I think that was the worst series for the show, but it's gotten better in series seven and eight, and I'm still waiting on series nine to start airing over here.

Maybe it's a relic and it sort of helps summon an ancient power that had long ago been buried in the depth of the earth of safe keeping? I love ancient powers that have the potential to destroy everything.

Oh gosh, I am so up for the ancient powers thing because that's like my favourite thing to read about. Especially if they happen to be powers that could pretty much blow up a planet. I'm a sucker for explosions. That'd definitely make the side holding it more powerful, which kind of links into your idea, Clara.

I copied all of you into this message to let you know that if you've got any character bios or names (which would be impressive at this stage in the planning process) to just pop them in the thread and I'll update them on the bio post! Also, any ideas for a title are appreciated. I've made a story page but it's just sitting at Angels vs Demons right now and I don't like that as a title. The only idea I have is World War III but that's a Madina Lake album title so can someone come up with something else?.

During the sixth season just think about what the seventh, eighth and ninth will bring you and you'll be good to go! (to be fair, it gets better like halfway through when Sam "gets his soul back" (do not highlight if you do not want spoilers )

I'm really bad at titles but I'll think of some if I can.

Sorry about the late post. I had a bit of a rough weekend and school day today.

Yay for blowing up the planet. I have long since divorced humanity and a beautiful catharsis of the human race would definately make a lot of sense.

How about that for a title? Catharsis. (If we do go with the potential explosion inducing relic). If we have some particularly radical angels that could be for catharsis of God's favorite creation. And the demons of course just want to rule and cause chaos. And Catharsis is not without Chaos. Chaotic Catharsis.

Oh wow, totally missed your post!

I like that word but I thought the main reason behind the war was just Angels vs Demons, and the only reason they get the humans involved is after a high-ranking member of one of the sides gets killed? Unless I'm mistaken.
