Angels vs Demons

Hm...what if it's a high-ranking demon that's killed by the angels? It'd be completely warped that it's the apparent "good" side that started the full-scale war. And what if when the demon goes to get it and is killed by the angels, the weapon gets lost on earth somewhere? And neither side know where it is and thus have to scavenge the earth to find it, ultimately putting the humans at risk?

Sorry if this sounds really bad/doesn't make an ounce of sense. I've just woken up from a five hour nap and I'm still shattered.

Maybe we should make the first chapter a 3rd person sort of thing. Make the initial struggle between sort of secondary characters. Like a have it like a prologue and have it told like a news story. "Angels and demons are real, look what a bystander caught on video, is this the apocalypse blah blah blah" so the two who start the war aren't our characters but they spark our characters and both races to war.

I was wondering if we should do that but I'm not too sure whether just diving right into the thick of the story would work better. Again, that's something that can be discussed though! We don't need our characters to start it, but we will need to have a clear standing on what side started the hunt for the relic, or what side caused the most havoc to get it.

Oh gosh, I really like that idea, especially the part about them having to scavenge the earth for it! It gives us more to include in the story as well.

Apologies for the radio silence, ladies! I've started back at university this week and it's a bit chaotic as far as everything goes.

But yeah, I have a list of small things I'd like to get sorted by the end of the week, if you all wouldn't mind pitching in!

Point of View / Tense

What's everyone's preferences? I'd rather write in past tense, but if anyone wants to try anything else then I'd be willing to give it a go! As for first or third person, I'll write in either so it's up to you guys.

Title

We have three ideas so far: Catharsis, Ready, Aim, Fire and World War III. If there are any other offers then let me know but I think it'd be a good idea to get this set in stone just now.

Posting Order

Do we want the posting order to be angel-demon-angel-demon (so in which case, it'd go something like my chapter - MeMe's chapter - Kayleigh's chapter - Clara's chapter) or do you guys want something else in place?

Prologue

Do we want one, or are we just launching straight into the story?

(Also, Kayleigh, have you given me your character bio yet? I could have sworn you did but I can't find it, unless I've managed to completely confuse myself).

There isn't really much to catch up on! I think we'd discussed that maybe in the hunt for the relic that starts the whole war, it was a high-ranking angel that was killed, but that's about the only thing I can think of that we'd discussed. I've set a small group of points up above that need to be discussed, so that's the next thing to do. It's all simple little things that we can do that'll get us set up. I think if we can get those done then we can start on the main storyline and get all of the little details absolutely perfect.

Encratia

A high-ranking Angel who works behind the scene with the fighting and is never seen out in the open. After a high-ranking commander dies, she is promoted to the strategic position that was once his and is now authoritative over a section of front-line soldiers. The job also entails her to organise and command small groups of Angels who would go into the heart of the Demon's side and damage it in anyway before being killed. Basically suicide missions. She's strong-willed and will do anything to serve their Father.

Also I thought we were going for the high-ranking Demon being killed so that we shake up the whole "good" side and "bad" side straight away?

I'd prefer third person, past tense. It'd be so much easier to write in for a story like this, especially with three sides. I'm never too keen with writing first person when it comes to group writes. As for the title, I do like Catharsis the most. I like the angel-demon-angel-demon posting order.

As for the prologue, I reckon we should just launch straight into the story. Prologues should only been used when completely necessary and I don't think one is for this. But I could be wrong.

It was, I just needed a lot of sleep when I posted that post.

I'd prefer that too, so we'll wait on the other two and find out what their preference is and see if we can work it for everyone! I'll also chalk up one vote for Catharsis! I think that's the easiest posting order so I'm setting it as that just now anyway.

I'd like to get right into the action as well, I love stories that launch straight into the thick of things.

Hey with the way my brain has been and due to some depression hitting me really hard. I might not be able to work on this :( I'm just overloaded with too many stories that need updated and personal life is either keeping on or off the site :( I'm unsure how soon I can be on board with this at the time. I still wanna be part of this but right now I really can't focus on this :(

But yes, stories that launch into the action tend to be a lot more interesting than those that try and drag out all the action in unnecessary filler chapters that contribute absolutely nothing at all.

So no prologue then, that's sorted. That's one thing that we can tick off then!

Jumping into the action sounds good. Catharsis still has my vote at the moment. Angel-demon posting order works and I'm cool with working in 1st or 3rd Person. Whichever is best for you all

We're set on Catharsis as a title just now then! I'll change it in the story page. This now means that we can try and sort out a banner or a layout or something. Anyone got any ideas what we can use graphics-wise to make it look appealing?

Posting order is set as well. I'll start us off, followed by MeMe, then Kayleigh and then Clara if she's feeling up to it by the time we get to writing. That ives us the angel - demon balance. Anyone have any objections to that?

In that case, we'll have it set to third person, past tense as I think that's what most are comfortable with anyway.

Okay, so the basic idea is that we're having a high-ranking demon killed, which effectively means that the angels cause the full-scale war to start. From there, we seem to have a nice split between the two sides: we've got Pyros and Othniel, who are more the soldier types, and then Eve and Encratia who are the higher powers. During this struggle, the relic that both sides are fighting for (we had decided it was some form of weapon, hadn't we?) is lost and what follows is the account of both sides looking for it.

Does that sound like everything, or have I missed anything out so far?

But yes, everything sounds good. It was a weapon and as the high-ranking demon was killed while getting the relic, it fell into the human population so both sides have to scour for it.
