can't drown my demons.

  • [Sorry for the delay! My semester officially started this week, so things have been a bit hectic. Facepalm]

Krissy was about to turn and see herself out when a thought dawned on her. She didn't have to necessarily give away who she was to ask a few questions. He was a vet after all, so wouldn't it be at least somewhat realistic if she asked what he thought about all of this strange animal behavior. "Do you have an opinion on all of this strange animal behavior lately? Have you ever seen anything like this before?" She asked, pausing for a moment. "I should have introduced myself earlier. I'm Agent Jett. A couple of guys from my unit and myself are here undergoing an investigation." She pulled her fake ID out going about things as she normally would and showing it to him. No need to have anyone finding her suspicious in any way."
Scott was honestly a bit conflicted. A part of him wanted to go to this party, because he knew Kalin would be there, but at the same time, he didn't want to go because he knew that there would be other girls there and he knew that it would give him an opportunity to talk to them and maybe even flirt it up. However, he still felt a bit guilty doing so even if he told himself constantly that he was over Allison. He'd gotten over her over the summer. So, he'd come to the conclusion that he was only doing this for Stiles. He wouldn't want his best friend to go to this party by himself, would he? He would be a pretty shitty best friend if he did.

  • [ you're fine. I figure that's what the deal was anyways. ]

Derek sighed when he heard this girl open her mouth again. He'd been in the middle of a rather important talk with Deaton and couldn't finish because she'd came here with all her damn questions. Questions in which Derek wasn't sure he wanted her to know the answers since he knew she was a hunter and her knowing things could get ugly. But either way he kept himself hidden knowing it wasn't a smart idea to let himself be know, and waited for her to leave. "I saw animals behaving like this once before when I was young. I had no idea what caused it then and have no idea what's causing it today. I'm sorry Agent Jett. I really wish I could be of more help. If you're done though I do have some things I need to take care of."
An hour later Kalin and Sara were arriving at the party. Kalin had no idea Scott would be there. Really that thought hadn't even occurred to her. But upon recieving a drink from one of Heathers friends and hearing someone mention Stiles and how they were happy he could make it she was looking towards the door only to see Stiles and of course Scott both. Which made her a little nervous. She hadn't spoke to him since the first day of school when things were made totally awkward. And well she'd learnt more about him since then. Allison's dad had informed her dad of Scott being a good kid but not dating material unless you were cool with your daughter dating a werewolf. Which made things a bit more awkward. Because she still thought he was attractive, and wasn't that phased by the whole werewolf thing like her dad was. Either way she hadn't been expectng to see him here and was suddenly nervous.

  • Krissy had no idea that Derek was in the back room, listening in on this conversation in all of its entirety. She had yet to actually come face to face with him. She honestly didn't know what she would do if she did. She hoped that she would act calm, cool and collected and not give away who she really was in some odd way, but she really didn't know what would happen. She was sure that it would happen eventually though. "It's fine. I just figured I'd ask. If you do think of anything, and I mean anything, feel free to call my superior." Kevin had taken up the role of answering any calls pertaining to cases or even handling things if people became suspicious, and he was damn good at it too, which kind of surprised her. She had never thought that the kid had it in him. "Thank you for your time." She added before turning and walking off towards the exit.
Scott stole a glance over to Stiles as they walked down the sidewalk. They'd parked around the block from Heather's house as she didn't want too many cars parked in front of her house. It would only draw attention to the house, and that really wasn't something that she wanted. Scott thought it was understandable. He doubted anyone would want the cops to show up, especially Stiles, seeing as his dad wouldn't really appreciate that at all. "What?" Stiles asked. Scott's eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion. "What?" He asked. "What's that look for? And you know exactly what look I'm talking about." He said, sending a knowing look his way. "What look?" Scott asked, though he had a feeling that Stiles could see right through him. "The look that says that the last thing you want to do right now is go to a party." Scott sighed softly. And he'd been correct. "It's not that. I just think it's a little weird that we're going to a girl from another high school's party." he shrugged his shoulders. "Why is that weird? You'll be fine, Scott. I went to nursery school with this girl, okay? And she promised to introduce us to all of her friends. So, tonight there's no Allison, no Lydia and no Kalin either. Tonight we're moving on and not worrying about any supernatural bullshit." He said after letting out an exasperated sigh. "You're right." Scott finally said before following his friend to the door.

  • Derek sighed and ran his hand over his hair happy she'd finally left. "So what were we talking about Derek?" He heard Deaton ask when he walked back in and Derek turned to look at him. "How we're going to help Isaac remember what happened before we found him at the hospital." He said knowing it wasn't like Deaton to forget things, but maybe this whole thing with these new hunters was getting to him too. "Ah yes, well just bring him by tomorrow night and we'll put my idea into action." Derek just nodded his head, he'd do it because well he didn't have anyone else to turn to or any other ideas. "Oh and uh if you find anything out about these new hunters could you give me a call?" Derek asked knowing that if anyone was actually going to figure out anything about these guys it would be Deaton. For now though he was going to finally head out and he supposed tell Scott and everyone he thought should know about the plan and see if he could figure anything out himself.
Kalin had her back turned to the door, and a drink in her hair smiling at some guy in the kitchen. "So how do you know Heather?" He asked Kalin smiling back. "Oh I don't, uh my friend does and she kind of invited me to come with her and I just kind of came along. I'm Kalin by the way." She told him deciding then and there that Sara was right. Tonight she was hot, and she could flirt with any cute guy she wanted because she was single and that's what people did at parties. They flirted, dances, drank, did fun stuff. And this guy was cute, he seemed nice, and well talking to him was a lot less nerve wracking than talking to Scott or Stiles, or even thinking about Scott. So tonight was her night to forget about him, forget about that entire thing. Forget everything had dad had told her about him after finding out from Allison's dad. And forget about everything revolving around that part of her life in general. Tonight she was talking to a normal non supernatural boy she just be girl around. Because he didn't know things she'd rather keep secret until she was ready for them to know, and she didn't feel awkward around him.

  • Krissy was walking along the sidewalk, a little ways down the road from the animal clinic, when she noticed some movement out of the corner of her. Looking over, she let out a soft sigh. "Do you always have to show up unannounced?" She asked the trench-coat wearing angel. He was wearing the same grave expression on his face that he always wore. "You haven't told Sam and Dean yet." Castiel said, ignoring her question altogether. "Why?" She should have known that he would ask her that. It had been understandable when her plan was to never set foot in Beacon Hills ever again, but that had obviously gone out the window. "Because it doesn't matter. It's in the past, and it's not important. What happened back then has nothing to do with what's happening now."
Scott followed Stiles inside, eyes widening slightly when a petite blonde rushed over to his awkward friend. "Stiles!" She exclaimed. He assumed that she was Heather. However, that wasn't what surprised him. It was what happened next that had surprised him. "Happy birthd--" Before Stiles could even get out his words, she pressed a kiss to his lips. Scott could see that his friend was just as taken aback as he was. "Come help me pick out a bottle of wine downstairs." Before his friend could say a word to him, Scott watched as he was whisked away, leaving him alone. Well, it looked like someone would be moving on from Lydia tonight. "Hey." he said, shooting a smile to one of the girls who had been with Heather. She looked at him for a second, rolled her eyes and then walked away. Letting out a sigh, Scott walked off, trying to figure out what he was going to do next. He paused for a moment, picking up on a familiar voice. Kalin. And she was talking to someone else. A guy. And they were flirting. Without even realizing it, his eyes flashed for a moment before he walked towards where he had heard her voice. "Kalin, hey! Can I talk to you for a second?"
    February 4th, 2014 at 07:39pm
  • Derek left the clinic a bit happier he supposed than he'd went in. It was kind of nice to know that they had some kind of plan on how to help Isaac remember what happened and get closer to finding Boyd and Erica. But no matter how hard he tried to stop thinking about it he couldn't stop thinking about this new girl. Who was she, why did she look like Paige? Why was she here? Really there were so many unanswered questions about this whole situation that he wanted answered. When he walked outside the clinic though he spotted the girl a little ways down talking to some guy in a trench-coat or something. And this made him wonder who the guy was? He was already wondering who the girl was, and now he needed to know who the guy was, so he decided to listen in on their conversation and hopefully not get caught by them and get himself in trouble. He needed answers and this seemed like the only way he'd be getting them.
Kalin laughed and took a sip of her drink before she heard Scott's voice behind her. "I'll be back." She told Conner with a smile before turning to Scott and biting her lip. "Scott. I didn't know you were going to be here." She said wondering why he was here, though she was guessing he knew someone who'd invited him kind of like herself. Maybe she didn't really know, and it wasn't really important. "Sure, uh we should go somewhere else though to talk." She told him not really sure this was a good spot to have a conversation. Or at least not the conversation she wanted to have with him. Though she didn't know if the conversation she wanted to have with him was the same one he wanted to have with her. Either way she wasn't really sure they should talk in here. The thought of this made her nervous again though, there was a lot of things she wanted to tell him and needed him to know even if he reacted badly. She hoped he wouldn't react badly. She didn't really know what was going to happen or how he was going to react but they needed to talk and she just needed to get some things off her chest.
    February 4th, 2014 at 10:05pm
  • Krissy had no idea that Derek was following them. "How can you be so sure of that, Krissy?" Castiel asked her. "What's happening now could easily have something to do with what happened back then." She knew that Cas was probably right. This all could very well somehow be connected to what happened all those years ago, but a part of her didn't want to believe it. "Since when are you an expert hunter?" She countered, eyes narrowing slightly. She'd never liked it when people told her that she was wrong, and she sure as hell didn't like it now either. "Look, Cas, if it turns out that this is all connected, I'll be sure to tell Sam and Dean everything, but until then you need to promise me that you won't say a word to either of them."
"Heather is a friend of Stiles'." Scott said, giving his shoulders a slight shrug. It wasn't really much of an explanation at all, but he figured that it was good enough. He honestly didn't know what he was doing right now. He didn't know what he was going to say to her. He just didn't like seeing her flirt with that other guy. And it was weird. A part of him still wasn't fully over Allison, so why was he suddenly angered after seeing Kalin and this other guy flirting? He didn't even know Kalin. They had spoken once and that was it. This shouldn't matter to him at all. "Great." he offered her a weak smile before going off to find somewhere quieter to talk.
    February 5th, 2014 at 03:47am
  • Derek was kind of confused while he listened to their conversation. Clearly she knew something about what was going on from her past, so Derek wanted to believe that she'd been here before. Which only made him believe that she'd been here before. The thing was though he needed to know when she'd been here and who she was. He'd never met anyone named Krissy before in his life, he'd met a Paige, who this girl looked a lot like, but he didn't really believe that she was Paige. After all Paige had kind of died in his arms and all that shit. He really needed to figure out who this girls was. Figure out more about her. And he was thinking that as dangerous as it was it might be a smart idea to talk to her. See if he could figure out more about her, get close to her maybe. He didn't know. He didn't have a plan. Other than he was going to talk to her alone at some point. He was going to get to the bottom of this and finally be able to stop stressing over this.
Kalin nodded her head and followed him to a quieter spot where they could talk. She rubbed the back of her neck kind of awkwardly wondering what the hell he wanted to talk about. Really they'd hadn't talked since the first day of school and while it had been awkward she'd kind of been trying to just get over it all and pretend like it just never happened. Kind of hard to do right now though. "Uh so what did you want to talk about?" She asked him pulling her bottom lip between her teeth. She felt like she should tell him that her dad wasn't planning to kill him and that she didn't really care that much about him being a werewolf and there was a part of her kind of thought it was awesome. She knew that her dad would flip if anything were to happen, but she was sure he'd get over it sooner or later too if it made her happy. And Scott really did seem like a good guy, and it was possible for him to be a good guy and a safe werewolf.

  • If Krissy had known that anyone, not just Derek, was following them or even just listening in on the conversation, she knew that it was one that she wouldn't be having right now. Because, this was simply something that she didn't just talk about with anyone. In fact, the only person who actually knew the truth about her past was Cas, and she'd sworn him to secrecy. She was kind of surprised that he hadn't said anything to Sam and Dean yet, but she was glad that he hadn't. "Your secret is safe with me, Krissy. It has been for quite some time now. I won't say anything to Sam or Dean, but I do believe that they should know." The angel said. She let out a soft sigh. "And, as I've told you before, I'll tell them if and only if it is absolutely necessary."
Scott really should have thought this through me. Honestly, he hadn't really thought it through at all. He'd kind of just acted on impulse, which was something that he definitely shouldn't have done. He didn't know why he cared so much about her talking to that guy, let alone that she was flirting with him, but he did, and it was honestly all still a bit confusing for him. "I feel as though there might have been a misunderstanding on the first day of school." He said. He hadn't spoken to her since then. Not since he found out that she came from a family of hunters just as Allison did.
    February 5th, 2014 at 05:18am
  • The more of this conversation Derek heard the more confused he got. And the more it made him wonder if it was possible for her to be Paige. Even though that was totally absurd, honestly he couldn't think of anything else that made sense which was sad. Plus weird things seemed to happen a lot in his life and Paige still being alive could just be another weird thing to add to the list of weird shit in his life. He wasn't going to confirm of deny anything though for sure until he'd talked to her like he wanted and felt like he knew the truth. Now though he had to figure how he was going to get to her to talk, and it would probably be smart to figure out what he wanted to talk about and ask before hand so he didn't look stupid and make a fool out of himself.
Kalin sighed but nodded her head in agreement. "Yea. Uh I hadn't really wanted you to find out like that. Telling people your dad hunts the supernatural isn't really something you tell people when you first meet them." She said knowing she would have rather kept it a secret than let him know. "Of course I also hadn't known you're kind of a supernatural being who dated Allison and that kind of made things uncomfortable. Which sucks becacuse you're really cute, and you seem really nice, and I like cute nice boys. Plus you're a werewolf which is still a bit hard to wrap my head around but it's cool. And I feel like finding out what my dad does and what I know how to do complicated things. And no one likes complicated uncomfortable things." She told him not even sure if she was making any sense. But she just hated that her dad's 'job' had ruined something potentially amazing for her. Or well she'd thought it had ruined it. And maybe it had. Scott probably didn't wanna date another hunters daughter. And it just sucked.

  • Krissy knew that Cas would keep his promise and that he wouldn't tell Sam or Dean. Up until now, it was something that she had thought that she would never even have to think about telling them, but she also hadn't anticipated ever coming back to Beacon Hills. Clearly things had changed. She looked over to the angel, noting that he seemed like he was about to say something, however, he paused before he got the chance to do so and said, "I must be going." Without another word to her, she watched as he disappeared. She glanced around, hoping that no one had seen the trench-coat wearing angel just disappear like that. Cas had been acting really weird lately. Weirder than he normally acted. However, that was the least of her worries right now.
Scott tried to get a word or two in every so often, but Kalin seemed to be rambling on without even noticing that he hadn't said anything yet. His eyes had widened slightly as he looked at her, and after a few moments, an amused expression appeared on his face. She thought he was cute. She was okay with him being a werewolf. "You think I'm cute?" He asked her, kind of wanting to make sure he'd heard her right. He only hoped that she didn't think that that was the only part of what she'd said that he'd heard, because that wasn't the case at all. He'd listened to everything she had to say. "How exactly did you find out what I am?" He asked, eyebrows furrowing slightly as he realized that he'd never actually told her himself.
    February 5th, 2014 at 03:37pm
  • Derek was sure his face was dripping with shock when this Cas character in the trenchcoat just kind of vanished into thin air. It was weird though. He'd seen weird things before, he was kind of a werewolf and all, and well all the weird stuff that'd happened over the last year and a half hadn't really been normal. But this was really odd. He'd bee there one second in the flesh and then he was just gone. Clearly though whatever she was making him keep secret from Dean and Sam was big. And Derek wanted to know what it was. He wanted to know who she was, and he wanted to know when she'd been to Beacon Hills before. All he had to do was figure out how to approach her and of course what to say to her and he'd be all set.
Kalin felt her cheeks flush, which was kind of unusual for her but whatever. "Uh yea. I mean you've got nice hair that kind of um helps bring out you features. And pretty eyes. And I'm gonna stop now." She said realizing she was rambling and her hands were all over the place. Clearly Scott was the guy who she lost her cool around. This had only happened one other time with her but she didn't really speak to him that much and he always had a girlfriend who Kalin hadn't really wanted to compete with. "Allison and her dad came over for dinner a few nights ago and when they went to his study to talk I sat outside the door with Allison and listened in." She answered knowing her dad had came into her room later and told her to be careful who she talked to, but he didn't tell her. "Can I see?" She quietly asked him biting her lip.
    February 5th, 2014 at 04:18pm
  • Krissy continued on back towards the motel that she, Sam and Dean were staying in for the time being. There was clearly a lot more going on here in Beacon Hills than met the eye. Of course, that had kind of been the case last time she'd been there. She'd thought it was just another case of werewolves, but it hadn't. She'd been in way over her head, and well, she had a feeling that things would be rather similar this time around as well. And she knew that she should probably tell Sam and Dean the truth, but she just couldn't bring herself to do so now. She would if she had to though. She told herself that anyway.
Scott couldn't help grinning at her words. And he knew that he probably looked like a complete idiot right now, but he honestly didn't care. He couldn't let chuckling softly as she rambled once more. It was cute. "If it helps at all, I uh think you're cute too." He told her honestly, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly soon after. He listened as she explained how she knew what he was, nodding. It made sense. However, he was kind of taken aback by her question and he was sure that the surprise was clearly written on his face. "Are you sure?" He asked just as softly as she had.
    February 5th, 2014 at 04:58pm
  • Derek climbed into his car and headed home. That was where he planned to do all his thinking. Maybe he'd ask Peter if he knew anything about who the Cas guy could've been. Or if he thought it was possible for Paige and this Krissy girl being the same person. And he'd already asked Deaton and hadn't really gotten much of an answer. Of course Deaton was just confused about everything as he was. Or at least that was what Deaton wanted everyone to think and Derek just didn't push it. He would be happy when he'd gotten to the bottom of everything though and everything made more sense to him. First he needed to do this thing with Isaac and take this all one step time a time.
Kalin smiled and bit her lip again. He thought she was cute too. That was something. And at least her rambling hadn't freaked him out, and if he was still freaked out about her dad being a hunter he didn't let it show. Which was good because she didn't really wanna think about how she didn't have a chance thanks to her dad. Things were looking good though. She finally nodded her head, "I'm sure." She whispered looking at him, she wanted to see this. Maybe to show she wasn't scared like some people were. Maybe to show him she was fine with it. Maybe she just wanted to see. Really she didn't know why this was important to her. But it was.
    February 5th, 2014 at 05:56pm
  • It didn't take Krissy very long to reach the motel. She'd been tempted to walk around town for a little while, maybe ask a few people some questions here and there, and well, just think about everything. And everything included her past here in Beacon Hills. She hadn't thought about it too much for a very long time. She threw herself into case after case, and now that she was with Sam and Dean, trouble kind of followed them, so she did have numerous distractions. However, she would have those sporadic moments where she would find herself thinking about it. Thinking about everything that had happened. And now, well, now that she was actually there, she couldn't not think about it.
Scott really did think that she was cute. He was still a bit conflicted, seeing as he wasn't completely over Allison, but he also found himself attracted to Kalin. It was confusing and even frustrating at times, but he didn't let it bother him too much. He watched her closely, waiting for her response. He was honestly kind of surprised that she had asked, but if she was sure, well, he wasn't going to tell her no. He wouldn't hurt her. He had enough control to know that he wouldn't. "Alright." He turned and walked over to close the door so that no one would walk in, and when he turned back around, he had changed.
    February 5th, 2014 at 06:43pm
  • Derek made it back to his loft and threw his car keys on the table while he walked over to the couch and fell onto it. "Rough day?" He heard Peter ask which caused Derek to groan. "Yes. Is Isaac here? I need to talk to him." He said figuring he should tell Isaac that they had a plan. And he should probably let Scott in on the plan that he wasn't even sure he knew all the way himself too. Because well Scott and Isaac were friends and all, plus he was sure that even though he'd rather keep Scott out of this he could use his help. Which was something that Derek still wasn't really use to saying. He didn't usually admit that he needed help, and he didn't ask for it either. But with everything he had on his plate right now he was pretty sure he needed all the help he could get. "Yea he's upstairs I'll go get him." "Thanks." Derek could just tell that things were complex and not going to get any easier anytime soon. Of course with all the questions he had he was still shocked he hadn't went insane already.
Kalin watched Scott closely, she wasn't scared or anything. Even though he was a supernatural being, which was something her dad tried to protect the world from, she didn't think he was evil. Of course the way she saw it was that the supernatural weren't always evil. Sure for the most part they were, and she didn't think that they should all be trusted, but there was something about Scott that made her feel safe. And she felt like he was one of the supernatural beings that could be trusted and was on the good side. She watched him close the door, and then took in his new features when he'd turned back around and took a step closer to him and raised her hand to gently touch his face. "I'm not scared." She breathed out with this sudden urge to kiss him. Even though she hardly knew Scott she still felt really connected to him in some weird sense like fate or something.
    February 5th, 2014 at 10:25pm
  • Krissy had no idea that Derek suspected a thing, let alone that he had seen her a couple of times. She had no idea that he'd been listening in that day she went with Sam and Dean to check out his old house, nor did she know that he'd been at the animal clinic when she had been there, and she sure as hell didn't know that he'd been eavesdropping on her conversation with Cas earlier. "Find anything?" Dean asked when she walked into the motel room. She sighed, shaking her head. "I stopped by the animal clinic and spoke with the vet there. He's seen animals act like this, but supposedly it was a while ago and he has no idea what would have caused them to act that way." She said as she shrugged off her jacket.
Scott stayed where he was, wanting her to approach him first. He didn't know how she would react to seeing him like this, and he didn't want to scare her off. Something told him that it would take a lot more than him being a werewolf to scare her off though. And, in all honesty, that was kind of really awesome. He watched as she took a step closer and raised her hand to touch his face. He remained perfectly still, his eyes closing for a moment before he opened them once more. They had gone back to their regular coffee color, no longer the harsh gold that they had been moments before. "You shouldn't be." He said quietly. He was glad that she wasn't scared of him. The last thing he wanted was for her to be scared of him.
    February 5th, 2014 at 11:24pm
  • Derek opened his eyes when Isaac walked into the room, and when he finally figured out the best way to explain everything to Isaac he told him what they had of a plan so far. "So we're going to see Deaton tomorrow for whatever he has planned to help with my memories. How are you planning to get close to this hunter though without getting caught or getting yourself hurt. I mean what if the others she's with catch you. I mean we don't know these people or anything about them for that matter. I don't think it's a good idea Derek. You need back up." And maybe he was right, Derek had been thinking that he might've needed some back up, but that was really hard for him to ask for. "I'll talk to Scott and see if he'll help and then we'll all go with you to talk to this girl. He can help." And again Derek wasn't sure he wanted to hear that, but somehow deep down he knew Isaac was right. "Fine. But even if he says no I'm still talking to her. She has answers I know she does and I need them."
Kalin kept her hand on his face, "well good because I'm not." She whispered biting her lip again. She kind of wondered where all of this left them. And then for a split second she thought about Conner and how she'd told him she'd be right back. Which led to her thinking about how she'd came to the party to try and not think about Scott and how everything was messed up with him. Clearly it wasn't that messed up anymore, or at least she didn't think it was, but still she'd came to forget about Scott and here she was with him in some room of someone else's house touching his face and thinking about kissing him. It was kind funny how things worked out. Like it was supposed to work out this way, again making her think there was some higher power trying to get them together or something.
    February 6th, 2014 at 12:14am
  • "Why'd you go to him?" Dean asked curiously. It was a good thing that Krissy was good at concealing her emotions and at thinking on her feet. "He deals with animals every day. I figured that he might know something." She said, giving her shoulders a slight shrug. "It was just a hunch, Dean." And I may or may not have gone asking him questions in the past. Ya know, that time I died. She hated lying to Sam and Dean. They were both kind of like older brothers to her, but this just wasn't something that she felt they needed to know. Like she'd told Cas, if all of this somehow ended up being connected, she would tell them, but right now, none of them really knew what was going on.
Scott changed back soon after. He was glad that she wasn't scared of him. He wouldn't hurt her. He knew that that was easier said than done, and he could easily slip up, but he was in control. He knew how to keep everything in check and also knew when to keep his distance from someone. He knew what he was doing. "Good." He said quietly as he looked down at her. He was only really noticing just how close they were at that very moment. And he couldn't help his gaze shifting down to her lips. For the first time in a long time, he was forgetting about Allison.

  • Derek and Isaac talked about this plan of theirs to get close to the hunters for a while longer and Derek was pretty sure it was a great idea. They had a plan, so far it was mostly just somehow getting this Krissy girl alone and then Derek was going up to her to talk or well ask his questions, while Scott and Isaac stood watch. Of course Isaac kind of needed to talk to Scott and make sure he was up for it first, but either way Derek was going to talk to her with at least one guy watching out to make sure the guys she was with didn't barge in and ruin things. He was pretty sure talking just to her he could do, he didn't know why because if she was like Katie then he'd be in trouble, but something told him that talking to her alone was the right idea. Almost like he felt he could get through to her, even though he didn't know her. Or didn't think he knew her, because really he didn't know she was Paige. But he'd find everything out soon enough.
Kalin believed him, she just had that feeling in the pit of her stomach that she could trust him, and he made her feel safe. Sure she knew all the things that could go wrong, but she also didn't doubt that Scott knew what he was doing and was in control enough over that part of himself that he wouldn't hurt her. Really she was pretty sure if he didn't feel safe around people or like he could control it he wouldn't have shown her so there wasn't anything to worry about. Which made things easier. All she had to worry about was his breath on her face, how close their faces really were, how soft his lips looked, and how inviting it sounded to kiss him and spend a moment in his arms. So without really thinking about it she closed the small distance between them by pressing her lips to his.
