Patiently Impatient

@ What if....
Riley shifted on the couch, she looked up at her grandfather. He his broken face said it all, clearing his throat he turned to Sam. "Prehaps it'd be best to leave her and the doctor alone. Just as Riley was about to protest, "I'll stay with her." Emily said, placing a hand on Paul's arm knowing he'd be the first to protest, bu the look she gave him told him not to.

"Oh," he faked shivering. "I'm so scared." He laughed out, "Quil couldn't hurt a house fly."

Paul looked at Sam pleadingly for a moment before sighing. He knelt down next to Riley's side and looked at her. "Call if anything happens. I will be there," he promised before pushing herself up. He glared at Carlisle before moving to the porch where he could hear her is anything happened.

Nadie rolled her eyes at him but couldn't help but add her laugh to his. Something about him was intoxicating. She wanted to be around him all the time, to touch him. She blushed at the thought and looked away. "Yeah, he is kinda harmless isn't he?" she said with a fond smile as she thought of Quil.

@ What if....
Riley stared after Paul she didn't understand what he meant. "I'm Dr. Cullen, you can call me Carilise." Her attention was directed towards the very attractive man. Nodding she barely paid attention to his word. "So I was faxed your doctor reports, lets see how you're healing." He moved to sit beside her. "We'll start with the ribs if that's okay." Nodding Riley pulled her shirt up to the best of her abitilies, a gasp coming from the other female in the room. Riley chose to ingnore her, though she couldn't help to cry out when she felt a light senation. The doctor's cold finger prodded at her ribs, though his touch was light, she still would cry if a feather grazed her side.

Embry frown hearing the fondness she held for Quil, it tugged at his heart knowing she couldn't ever be his. He could never take Quil's girl from him, imprint or not.

Paul tensed when he heard Riley cry out and he fought every instinct to go in that house and tear Carlisle apart. "She shouldn't be in there with them," he hissed out frustrated that there was nothing he could do. "I should be in there with her," he said as he ran his fingers through his hair and began to pace.

Nadie looked over at him and noticed his frown. Biting her lip, she tried to hold back a frown of her own. "So where did you and Jacob disappear to before you joined Sam's cult?" she asked as she watched him closely. She figured that talking like that baout Sam would upset him but she wantedto see how much. She wanted to know what had happened to them to make them abandon Quil the way they did. "You are doing drugs or something like that?" she asked hesitatnyl as she bit her lip and watched him. Despite everything, she found herself worrying about him and hoping that he was okay.

@ What if....
Riley bit her lip, holding back any more cries of pain. Though she could hide the tears that streamed down her face. She noticed that Emily had exited through the front door. She must have seen enough to upset her. "Well it seems that your healing fine." He smiled softly to her. "Now I'm going to give you something for the pain, take only as needed." He told her. "I advise you stay home, keep from doing to much to cause pain." He told her, before digging in his bag and pulling out a bottle of pills, he knew she'd need them. "These will get you started." He smiled. "Thank you doctor." She told him fixing her shirt. Carlisle nodded betore exting the house. Only stopping to give her grandfather a few brief words.

Embry lauhed out. "You really think I'd do drugs?" He asked her. "And we aren't a gang, Sam's just like an older brother." He shrugged. "He's helping us, through something difficult." He told her. She was his imprint so it was his right to tell her.

Paul stood up quickly when Carlisle came out and he walked into the house. Seeing Riley on the couch, he walked over and sat down on the floor by her bed. "Hey," he said softly. "How are you feeling?" He hoped that his voice didn't betray how worried and anxious he had been when Carlisle had been in here. She probably would freak out and run away if she knew the depth of how much he actually cared about her.

Nadie glanced over at him and shrugged. "I don't know what to think Embry," she said honestly. "You disappear for a week and then come back like super stud." Nadie listened and nodded. "Must have been pretty difficult for you to go to Sam and leave Quil behind," she said before turning slightly to face the teacher. She didn't know what else to say besides that and she did feel bad for being harsh but she felt like it needed to be done.

@ What if....
Riley lifted her tear stained face, up to look up at Paul. Her bottom lip quived as if she was going to say something, but decided against it. Turning she looked down at the bottle of pills in her hands.

Embry smirked at her. "You think I'm a stud." He teased. "I didn't abanden Quil, I.." He broke off. "It'll all be explained sooner or later." He sighed out, "just trust me, please." He smiled softly at her.

Paul looked at her, watching her. "Please?" He said gently. "Whatever you ever going to say, tell me," he said softly as he watched her with a fond expression on his face.

Nadie glanced at him and rolled her eyes slightly. "Yeah, I think you are a stud," she said sarcastically before sighing softly. "Whatever you say Embry," she whispered.

@ What if....
Riley looked back up at him. "Can I have something to take these?" She asked shaking the small pill bottle. She wanted to be able to relax and not worry about pain.

"You know you want me." He teased her, though he hoped that she could feel the imprinting.

Paul looked at her and nodded as he stood up. He quickly got her a glass of water before returning to her side.

Nadie blushed and shivered when he spoke. Glancing over at him, she hoped he wouldn't notice her reactions. "I um...." She stumbled over her words, not knowing what to say next.

@ What if....
"Thank you." She told him before popping a pill in her mouth, then downing the glass of water. Her body slowly sinking back into the couch a she tried to keep from hurting herself. Hoping the pills wouldn't take to long to take affect.

Embry left out a laugh. "Does Quil not satify?" He quirked a brow at her. He was teasing, though he was hoping it was true.

Paul watched her protectively as she took the pill and he sighed softly. He wanted to make all of her pain go away but he knew there was no way he could help with this so he simply sat by her and waited.

Nadie bit her lip and glanced at him. "Oh, Quil satisfies fine....actually more than enough," she said before looking away. She was lying but she hoped he woldn't notice. She loved Quil but she always wanted someone who would take what they wanted, confidence and a bit of cockiness, while Quil was contantly stopping and asking if he could touch her.

@ What if....
Riley let her eyes close, she heard her grandfather voice though she paid no attention to it. She wouldn't be moving for a while, not until the pills took effect. She'd only end up whining in pain if she did. "Mm." She answered him, opening her eyes to look at him briefly. He chuckled before nodding to Paul, "look after her." He said shaking his head before exiting the house.

Embry felt his fist clench, glaring out of the window. Before standing up quickly, he exited the room before he phased. He didn't want to hear that Quil was pleasuring his imprint. He'd have to find Quil and rip into him.

Paul nodded when her grandfather spoke to him and he hoped that he knew Paul would spend every moment of the rest of his life trying to take care of her. She was his everything.

Nadie looked up when Embry got up and walked out of class abruptly. She felt bad for what she had said but then she couldn't figure out why. Thinking about Embry made her feel happy and light which she knew she should feel about Quil. What was going on? she thought. She stayed in that distress until the bell rang.

@ What if....
Riley watched her grandfather walked out the door. "Uhm." She sighed out, her gaze shifting to Paul. She'd never really taken in his apperance, he was extremly attractive. Shifting her gaze away from him, in hope he hadn't cauht her staring.

It didn't take Embry but a split second to phase, once he was consealed in a wooded area. He could hear Jacob and Quil's thoughts, though he pushed them from his mind. Letting his feet carry him off, where he didn't know nor care. Right now he hated the world, and himself.

Paul looked at her, catching her staring and smirking slightly. Turning his head slightly so he wasn't staring but he still had her in his peripheral vision, he sat in silence. He didn't expect her to speak. Hearing commotion, he heard Sam leave and knew Quil had now joined them in shifting but he still didn't move.

Nadie looked around for the rest of the day, telling herself she was looking for Quil when really she wanted to see Embry. Sighing, she walked home despite the pain in her ankle. Halfway, she turned and walked to Quil's house. Knocking on the door, she was surprised to see Sam, Jacob, Quil and Embry in Quil's living room.

@ What if....
Riley shifted on the couch. "Ow." She whimpered out, her hand moving to her ribs. Though the pain was bairable, she still couldn't help but exclaim her pain.

Embry looked up noticing Nadie, he frowned thinking over their last words. He hated that she was sleeping with Quil, and he couldn't even hold her. He didn't know if Quil even knew he'd imprinted on his girlfriend. Since he was order backed to La Push, though he didn't know why he was at Quil's.

Paul looked up and was instantly over looking her, trying to find the source of her pain. "Are you okay?" He asked gently. "Can I get you anything that will help?" He asked as he worriedly looked at her.

Nadie looked at all of them for a moment before turning and walking out of the house without a word. She couldn't believe that after everything Quil was joining them. That he was doing this to her. She bit her lip as tears gathered in her eyes.

@ What if....
Riley shook her head, her hand moved under her shirt. Gripping at her ribs, she wished that stupid doctor hadn't been pushing on them. Now everything seems to tender.

Quil furrowed his brow and got up. "Embry." Sam said, before motioning to the door. He told Quil to sit, knowing he could phase at any moment. And aslo it was know to the entire pack she was his imprint. "Nadie." Embry called, rushing to catch up with her.
