    Bambi & Pebbles & Ki
"And her name is Pebbles," Bambi grinned happily her hands softly put the small turtle on Shion's lap. They were the first downstairs, waiting for everyone else to come down as they sat sprawled out on the dinning room floor. Amin still busy clanking pans in the kitchen.

"Isn't she just the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?" Bambi asked with utmost pride towards her new pet. Her bare shoulders touching his own as she sat comfortably next to the young Kitsune.

"So much better than soda!" she laughed shaking her head as she reached down to lightly pet the top of her tortoise's shell.

"I think I'm going to take her for a walk after dinner, it's still warm outside," she mentioned almost to herself as she went to work planning the trip.

"Do you think Alice will let us borrow her wagon?" she asked instantly inviting him without much thought.

"I wonder if Ryker wants to go, he likes walking.... Then we'd better invite Alice as well," she nodded to herself, not waiting for Shion's response.

"What- is Amin serving turtle soup? Little fresh isn't it?" Ki grinned plopping into an empty chair his legs resting on the table where everyone would be eating soon.

"She's a Stigmochelys Pardalis, not a turtle you degenerate!" Bambi yelled hurt clearly on her face, rising to her knees she turned her head towards Ki. Her next words falling from her lips as she stared shocked at his face.

"Y-Y-You're green!" she gasped mouth hanging open.

"No shit, I'm a Goblin you degenerate, I'm normally green," he spat back Ki's yellow eyes glinting in the light as he stared at her with annoyance.

"No you are not," she argued pointing a finger at him.

"It's called a Glamour... Seriously what kind of Witch Doctor are you? I shouldn't have to put my mask down for you to see past it, pretty pathetic," he mocked picking his cuticles as he rolled his hypnotic yellow eyes.

"Well, no one likes you," Bambi huffed, "seeing past Glamours is an acquired skill, I am too young to use that power yet. You're not too young to have gained some manners though," she pointed out a frown forming on her lips.

"At least I'm not the one who was stupid enough to trust their very edible pet to a fox, one day you're just going to wake up and find Shion scarfing on some deep fried turtle legs," Ki hissed eyes darting to the smaller Asian boy with malice.

"Jesus Christ! Do you always have to pick on him? Every single time? Seriously Ki, grow up! Stop trying to cause problems, I am going to tell Kal that you are being a pompous jerk!" She threatened starting to get to her feet when Kal actually entered the room. Bambi's yelling obviously getting her attention. Why Amin, who was only a door, away hadn't come in was unknown.

Shion pulled his attention away from his new book, his mouth still forming the shape of the word he had been struggling to comprehend. His hands were still a bit dusty from his trip in the trees outside, where he had found his gift from Kalya hidden in a small little burrow another animal had made in the base of a tree trunk. His hold on the book was gentle and delicate, as if the gift was a precious artifact he dared not break. He had shifted immediately back to his human form, excitement coursing through him as he made his way back into the house. He had to give it Kalya, this was the perfect gift, and she had done a good job in hiding it as well. The explanations and definitions were straightforward, and with Bambi's help, he'd be a pro at speaking english in no time.

He smiled, looking down at the turtle Bambi placed on his lap. It was was smaller than the book, and as Shion looked from it to Bambi with a grin mirroring hers, he closed the book to hold onto the turtle, showing it the same care he was showing to the book. He couldn't recall seeing Bambi gush about something before, and seeing her so enthusiastic about something was oddly endearing.

"She has a very nice shell," he supplied, trying to think of something more he could say. He had seen turtles before, but generally he left them well enough alone. The ones at his home would snap at you if you bothered them too much, so he had never touched one before, and the experience was a bit odd. Regardless, he grinned again and nodded at Bambi's suggestion for a walk. "Alice would definately lend us the wagon," he laughed, thinking of how excited the girl his age would be.

His head jerked to the side at the sound of Ki's voice. He glanced disapprovingly at Ki's feet, knowing that if anyone had dared to do that back home, they'd be forced to eat outside. He wrinkled his nose up in distaste, missing the first half of Ki and Bambi's bickering. An exclamation from Bambi caused him to look at her in confusion, then Ki, who was an odd green color. Understanding came over him, remembering the tales he had read about Goblins and certain Fae creatures. Of course he'd be green, Shion thought.

Hurt flashed across his eyes as Ki insulted Bambi. Though he the words were unfamiliar, he knew enough to know what Ki was implying. "I, I would never..." he glanced at Bambi, hoping she knew he would never injure any of her pets.

    Image
"That's enough!" Kalya stated sternly, arms crossed in front of her. she had been momentarily stunned to walk in on an angry Bambi, but a simple glance at the situation was enough for her to figure things out. "Bambi, I'll deal with Ki. You don't need to tell me what I already know," she stated flippantly, her gaze going to the goblin boy. Why did he have to instigate everyone? "Amin is done cooking. Go to the kitchen everyone," she ordered, yellow eyes firmly set on Ki's. "Except you. We need to talk real quick."

    Alice
    Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock

Making her way out of the theater, Alice's fingers clasped protectively around the small watch in her hands. She'd taken it off before dance practice and somehow managed to forget about hanging it on one of the theater chair seats. The ill-ease she had felt before was replaced with contentment as she pressed the glass surface to her left ear, allowing the familiar sounds of ticking to comfort her.

Alice doubted she would have been able to fall asleep later that night without it. The thing was like a second appendage to the ice girl. It was nearly indestructible, the cool glass and beautifully crafted silver flickered in the dimly lighted hallway, as she made her way back out of the school.

Pulling it away from her ear Alice ran her index finger over the grinning crocodile sketched onto the back. The very idea of losing it brought fear into her heart. The watch had such history, even if it looked new the beautiful piece of art hanging off the silver chain was anything but.

The girl couldn't remember ever not having it on her. The watch and a 1911 signed copy of Peter and Wendy was the only thing she had left of her mother.

The watch was how her parents had met in the first place: Elementals and Elves barely spoke. The cryptic High Elf community was notorious for never socializing with the other races (much like the Angels) unless in business transactions. One of the Original Races they considered themselves above all other races, not hiding behind excuses for their exclusion the society was based upon their beliefs in pure bloodlines.

Alice's father Kristoff had created the watch in 1954 for the daughter of a wealthy High Elf named Clara. Alice's father was already 76 years old, and at the peak of his fame. He was one of the first people to start crafting magical items to improve the lives of the Magical Community as a whole. A watchmaker by trade, Kristoff created magical watches which were as beautiful as they were durable withstanding amazing stress: fire, ice, spells, and time. His watches which had blown up as one of the biggest fads of the age were worn by Royals and Courts alike. During his 55 years of watchmaking Kristoff had never once received a complaint.

At least not until Alice's mother came along. Clara who had been obsessed with all things Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland, had been less than impressed with the one she was given by the other man. She had no problem going into the store and declaring this exact thing. Apparently, as Alice's dad told the story, he was in love the moment that $1,000 watch hit him on the head.

He'd spent almost a year reworking the new watch, creating the beautiful one she had today. A year (for a month long) project. Each day had brought them closer and eventually they ran away together. Settling in Denmark until Alice's mother died in childbirth with her 14 years ago. The rest was history. The few pictures she had of her mother showed her wearing it, now it was hers and she had a responsibility to take care of it.

Shaking away her thoughts Alice shivered as she opened the door out to the front lawn. The soaked ice girl's lips trembled as she felt the cold rolling in; her cloths sticking to her skin. Jumping in after her Queen seemed like a badly thought out idea at this point... Even in the dark night she could see her breath billowing around her in chilling white cloud.

Reaching for her pocket Alice frowned as she realized that jumping in she'd forgotten about her now ruined phone. There was no calling for a pickup, now. She'd have to walk.

Moving forward she tried to forget the ice slipping into her bones.

    Bambi & Pebbles
"Fine," Bambi huffed grabbing her turtle, "I'm going to put Pebbles away first," she offered up before walking in the other direction. She was up the stairs before Kal could say anything.
    Image
    Ki
Ki only rolled his eyes as Kali spoke. Her annoying voice sounding in the room practically sucked the energy right out of him; just like the fun.

"Yes, Miss Imposing Overlord, how can I help you?" he asked leaning his chair back onto two legs.

Kalya's attention was focused completely on the goblin boy, her bright eyes narrowing the slightest bit at his attitude. Out of habit she began to circle him, until his overlord comment came out, in which she tilted her head in a scoffing manner. "You try to act all coy, yet you're just like the others. I won't beat around the bush. You and I both know that you've shirked your household duties and have been instigating the others, and you have no intention of talking about why. I will enforce those rules, though. You're not a child. Stop acting like it."

She sat on the couch, the scent of food filling the house as Amin was likely setting out the food for the others. She leaned back, eyes on Ki being watchful as ever. "I do not tolerate bullying in this house. I don't tolerate any bullying whatsoever, and Ki, you know that. Yet you eat up the ailments of your housemates like they're a prime-time television show. Does age really affect ones sense of humor so much they need petty things to amuse them?" she challenged, pushing the boundaries of how she normally conducted herself to students. She needed to get Ki's attention somehow though.

"The boys bothering Shion. You're a popular boy, Ki. You know something. If you have an ounce of respect for anyone in this house, I'd like to know who's responsible for the Kitsune's torment...." aside from you... she finished in her head.

    Alice

Alice stared into the darkness in front of her with naive bravery. The idea of walking along the two lane gravel road alone at night had never crossed her mind as dangerous. Just as the repercussions of jumping in after Tundry hadn't hit her until now.

She could not help but wrinkle her nose as she felt the uncomfortable sensation of her wet socks sliding around inside her bright red sneakers. Dust clung grossly to her new shoes, she'd have to ask Kali to help her wash them later. Once she took a nice hot shower, maybe have Shion make her some of the coco with the fluffy marshmallows. That would be really nice.

Giggling as she moved Alice took her time, hopping from side to side as she made her way down the road. Most of the time this path was what they took to school when they walked in the morning, not many cars took this route. So she wasn't worried about walking on the road.

She found it strange after a few minutes of walking when a car did show up. An old clinker which sped past her giving hardly enough time for the girl to jump out of the way as it zipped by. She would have hardly thought much about it if the driver hadn't slammed on his brakes a few feet down the road. The bright red brake lights shined hazily in the twilight air, before the truck reversed sharply towards the now startled girl. Alice only closed her eyes as the metal came inches from hitting her, before the wheels slid to a stop.

The rusted red ford stalled as if waiting for her to pass by. Alice stood from her spot staring at it in confusion, the ford which was on oversized tires made it impossible for her to see what was going on inside the truck. She only blinked when the lights flashed signalling the car had been shut off and the rusted out truck doors burst open.

Two teenage boys burst from the car like a confetti popper, dressed in identical gray sweatshirts and dark washed jeans the redheads made large strides towards the small blonde.

"H-Hello?" Alice asked eyes wide as she took a hesitant step back. "Can I help you? Did your car break down... I don't know anything about cars, but if you have a phone my friend Ryker he knows everything about cars, well motorcycles but they're like cars right?" the girl asked looking at their truck with concern as if the two boys might actually be in trouble.

"Alissa Riber?" the first boy called out his voice deep and challenging as he closed in, he was the oldest of the two at least Rayna's age he made a beeline for the younger girl not waiting for her answer as his hand erupted in flames.

"Y-yes, how did you-" Alice couldn't finish her words as the boy's flame engulfed hand wrapped around her pale wrist easily throwing her off the road and over the small drop off to the right.

He was good at it, like one of the boys which would throw her around on stage, maybe that's why her body went so far because she was used to being thrown. The only thing which caught her this time though was the sharp pain as her ribs made contact with the side of the grassy hill, her thin body cracking over rocks as she rolled painfully the rest of the way down the hill. Panic consuming her.

Fear finally came to Alice's eyes as her brain swam, the word Run rang in her ears as she tried to pull herself to her feet, stumbling over her own feet as she tried to make it for the woods, the cheering sounds of the boys as they stumbled down the hill after her.

"Rocket, don't play so rough," the other boy whined his hands also erupting in flames, as he followed the other boy towards the stumbling girl.

"Wait! Wait," Alice cried backing away from both her hands extended almost peacefully as she looked for a quick escape.

"Listen, did I tell you to get up?" Rocket asked cocking a brow as he broke the distance, his blazing hands sizzling as they grabbed a handful of her hair, yanking violently upon her strands he sent the graceful girl to her knees dragging her along the ground kicking and screaming back up the hill. The smell of burnt hair and flesh lingered in the air.

"Patrick, a little help?" The boy asked a tick in his voice as he threw the girl to the gravel, at the other boy's feet. The child now sobbing as she grabbed onto the gentler boy's legs hidden behind a wave of burnt and broken white blonde hair. The white strands sat next to her smudged in dark red blood.

"Stop it, stop it," she whined. Alice had never been touched like this before. She had never felt heat so intense before, her ice almost curled up and died inside of her, she couldn't feel it, she didn't feel cold and it wasn't a relief.

A sharp kick to the face sent the girl to the ground again, and she didn't bother getting up, instead she curled up, sobbing. No one had ever hit her before, she was never spanked as a child, never shoved, never manhandled before, and this was absolutely devastating. She didn't know how to process the pain.

"Don't curl up! Take it you little bitch," Rocket growled his burning hands searing flesh as he flipped the girl onto her back, his boot jamming into her stomach as he stomped on her, blood spurting from her nose as he missed.

"Pleaaaasssseeee," Alice sobbed trying to hide her face with her hands.

"Fuck'n A- Patrick! Hold her down! Jesus," Rocket growled straddling the now fighting girl underneath him his burning hands smoking as they left imprints upon her skin. Burning material to flesh as he dodged a weak punch sent from the halfblood.

"Yeah, Yeah, don't get your knickers in a bunch," the boy only snorted his heated hands sticking to her wrists as he thrust them over her head so Rocket could get his punches in just the way he wanted them. So Patrick had to watch his semi-drunk friend get the revenge he felt he needed.

"Fucking Halfbloods," Rocket growled, his fingers now working on the underside of the girl's T-shirt, burning red blotches around the girl's waist, angry red welts which caused such twitches and screams as they decorated her once pale skin. "You shouldn't have been born," Rocket slurred shaking his head as his nails cut into the burns, "Your existence disgraces our race, the Seelie Court, the whole fucking community," he spat, hatred clear upon his face as he shoved his blazing hands deeper into her sides, gaining the high pitched screams he'd been craving. "Weak, you're too weak, and I'm going to kill you, before you kill someone, F-r-e-a-k." He whispered as if promising himself, before pressing his hands to the squirming girl's cheeks, trying to burn the screams from her.

"You need to stop telling people you're an elemental, you need to stop saying you're a Seelie, you understand," Patrick tried reasonably as he pulled his hands finally away from her wrists grimacing as skin came back attached to his palms which wasn't his. "Is she supposed to look like that?" Patrick asked skeptically kicking at Alice's head he was surprised to find she didn't turn it back, passed out most likely.

"I'm going to kill the bitch who cares," Rocket growled eyes blazing as he shot his friend a dirty look.

"She didn't kill Karen," Patrick argued softly not stopping his friend as he pulled out a small pocket knife from his pocket. It was the sort of thing Rocket always carried with him.

"No, but she can make more of them," he threatened pressing the blade of the knife against her throat, drawing blood in the process.

"She's a kid Rocket," Patrick rolled his eyes watching as his friend suddenly dropped the knife instead his hands going towards her jeans. Movements sloppy as he went to undo the top button.

"Hardly," Rocket hissed, annoyed with how hard it was to undo the zipper.

"Rocket, are you kidding me? She's like fucking 10," Patrick growled stomping forward, "If you want a lay, let's get the Fire Witch next she sure dresses like a slut, one little dead Halfblood won't matter you rape the kid and we have a different kind of shit storm to deal with," Patrick threatened shoving his friend off the girl.

"If you're going to kill her kill her, otherwise let's go before someone finds her," Patrick demanded running a bloodied hand through his hair.

Rocket only glared at the boy like a child about to throw a tantrum. "F-I-N-E," He hissed, picking up the knife, he stared down at the unconscious girl. Knowing exactly where he wanted to aim, the small blade disappeared into her body before he ripped it out. Eyes full of hatred as a sharp kick sent the stabbed and severely burned girl down the other side of the hill.

"Now, let us be done with it," Patrick sighed, following Rocket back to the truck, content with their work. One less Halfblood to worry about.

"We were joking! I'm toughing him up, helping him more than Ryker, he babies the boy," Ki frowned crossing his arms against his chest as he dropped with an annoyed sigh onto the couch.

"If you want to micro, ask Ryker about his ex-girlfriend, she's a total nutjob," the Goblin boy laughed shaking his head as he thought about the obsessed Vampire who trailed behind his housemate whenever the guy wasn't looking. Ki had no intention of ratting out his friends to the likes of this Tiger Mom Wannabe.

"If you wanna worry about someone maybe you should pay more attention to Alice, she snuck out the front door over an hour ago," Ki tattled without shame, better her than him anyways.

Kalya bristled, a subtle sneer appearing on her face. "Toughening him up? You're bullying him Hiroki, and you know it. Don't bull shit this. You aren't a family member of his, you hardly know him. You have no right to argue you're toughening him up, from his side it's completely attacks on him and his self esteem, and a group of kids physically harassing him is something I won't put up with. I don't care if you are affiliated with them, Ki. If they do anything to Shion, you are going down with them. If you can't talk to him without somehow berating him, you will not talk to him at all, do you understand that?"

The words had come quickly out of her mouth, in a rush to silence the boy from trying to excuse his actions. "You're trying to derail this conversation," she pointed out, though she made a mental note to see what ex-girlfriend Ki was speaking about. She backtracked at the mention of Alice, however. The information didn't bother her entirely- Alice wouldn't be doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing. She likely had a reason for going out on her own, though the fact she didn't inform anyone bothered Kalya. Regardless, she pointed her attention back to Ki, shrugging. "Is that supposed to make me distracted? I'll talk to Alice when she returns or go pick her up after we're done talking. Though since you bring it up, let's think. You haven't done any chores, you helped host a party that had underage drinking and other problematic activities, and constantly try to pretend you're uninterested in socializing or caring about anyone but yourself when it's really an act. Yet you think I shouldn't worry about you?"

Kalya couldn't help but scoff. She had to worry about every one of the kids and whether Ki liked it or not, he wasn't an exception. The fact he was older than her, a different race, whatever. She glanced over to the boy who was on the couch with her still, waiting for a reply, debating whether to just excuse him to eat for now, or take some other action.

"Related to him? No one ever said I was a filthy Shifter, or whatever they choose to classify themselves as," Ki growled eyes glowing as he gave her a disgusted look.

"For your information most of those kids were older than you," he shrugged holding back the urge to flip her off as he stormed out of the room, flopping into his dinner chair he folded his arms in aggravation.

"Will you all hurry the hell up in there?" Ki hissed towards the kitchen, ignoring Adel and Ryker who were sitting across from him.

Kalya held in her reply aggravation relieving itself from her in the form of a sigh.

Older maybe, but lost all the same. She promptly followed Ki to the dining room, sitting in her seat as Amin finally bustled out of the kitchen. "Rude people eat last when I am cooking," Amin replied curt and politely to Ki, placing the dishes he had prepared in the middle of the table. A plate of yellow rice with meat in it went first, along with a type of soup, and lastly a large plate of noodles. Amin was shaking in his spot, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "I know not everyone enjoys Adel and I's taste, so I figured noodles are a general favorite. I mixed in some shrimp, so it's not so plain. Help yourself." Amin grinned, before realizing the table was not completely full. A frown grew on his face as he sat in his seat, his eyes shooting to Ki to make sure the blasted goblin wouldn't touch the food yet. "Where's are the others? Should we wait for them?"

    Ki
Ki leaned back into his chair stretching his arms behind his head as everyone situated themselves into their oh-so predictable seats. The Goblin didn't have to wait for Amin to speak to notice the missing girls. Unfolding his arms Ki happily jumped out of his chair a smug smile on his lips as he pulled out Rayna's usually golden chair at the end of the table. The Skeleton-Jumper was very picky about her arm room or something... "She snoozes, she loses!" he cackled enjoying his good luck. This really was the best seat. For some reason he felt like tempting whatever kind of black magic back alley hex she would surely put upon him for this.

Knowing full and well Amin was watching him (which for someone who stated they hated him spent a lot of time admiring his physique or at least Ki liked to think so) as he plucked a single noodle from the serving plate, slurping it down quickly he licked his green fingers as his eyes shined mockingly in the Phoenix's direction, "What Polly want a cracker?" He asked with a raised brow a grin on his thin lips.

"Just joking," He clarified waving a passive hand towards Kal before continuing on, "Maybe Rayna's sacrificing Alice to some Pagan god-- I hear her type does that to babies; better lock your door at night Shion," Ki snickered wiggling his fingers in the Kitsune's direction before taking a healthy scoop of noodles onto his plate.

"Bloodletting is no laughing joke Hiroki!" Bambi fumed as the overly uptight witch often did.

"The phrase is, 'no laughing matter,' your ThirdWorld is showing dear," he stated cruelly although his voice came out more flippant than anything else.

"Why don't you leave her alone," Ryker sighed obviously put out that he had to say anything at all. The Vampire grumbled something lost under his breath, a common occurrence. Ryker was always grumbling under his breath.

"I was joking, Alice is a halfbreed anyways her blood's no good for magic, Bambi should know all about blood ma- oh that's right," Ki shrugged as if this was a disappointing factor and he hadn't just dug back into the Witch Doctor again.

"All this talk of blood magic is making me lose my apatite," the girl whined passing a bowl full of soup to Shion before slumping back into her chair. A sour expression on her lips as she stared darkly at the wall.

"Really? Exact opposite for me," Ryker smiled joking for once as he tried to turn the conversation around again. A glint forming in his eyes as he watched Bambi try to hide the smile she now had. Reaching down Ryker picked up his glass taking a long sip from it before putting it back down. The red liquid sloshing around inside was obviously not Kool-Aid. He was just happy she wasn't focusing on the poorly placed joke about where she was from.

Adel snickered, amused by the Ki's antics. She could already see the necromancers reaction to the boy on her seat, the aggravation and rage that would be neatly stored behind cool calculating eyes. Amin gritted his teeth in his spot, shoving his hand up and motioning to the piece of food that was in Ki's hand. Moving a bit too slowly, all that happened was a puff of smoke in front of Ki's face. He glanced at Kalya, afraid she would yell at him, but she merely stared down her food, debating what to take a bite of first while fumbling with her phone.

"Hiroki, stop being an ass," Amin managed to bark out under his breath before Bambi's reproach about the bloodletting joke. Adel's eyes narrowed and she ground her teeth. Honestly, the Goblin boy was just letting it all out, wasn't he? She chuckled, her voice filling the subtle silence that followed Ryker's joke. An urge to belittle the Goblin struck her but she brushed it off, instead reaching straight across the table and grabbing some more of the rice. "Excuse me," she added as an afterthought, before setting her sights back on Ki. After a smirk, she turned to her brother, and to Kalya. "Thank you very much for the gifts, Kalya. I needed mine very badly. After what happened to all of my other Kushti, what with them getting damaged during that dreadful party. Honestly, what kind of person decides to do that to someone's undergarments?" She huffed, rolling her eyes before throwing a sly look in Hiroki's direction. "You have a gift for surprises! I know Amin was pleased when he received his gift as well."

Amin's face flushed, as he gave a confused look to his sister, before smiling to Kalya. "The gift is very nice Kalya, thank you." Adel nodded, continuing the small talk. Shion glanced around, adding small portions of the foods to his plate, trying everything with a cautious hand. "Bambi," he started politely. "There was a word. In the book. I'm not sure how to say it?"

    Ki
Ki stared down at the ashen noodle in his hands as Amin's whispered words bounced around in his brain like the little metal ball in a pinball machine. The Goblin boy wrinkled his nose as he wiped the gray dust off on a napkin.

"Liar-Liar, pants on fire," Ki laughed as Adel pretended like the party wasn't the best thing to happen to her that entire week. She could pretend all she wanted but both of the twins were made for social interaction. In their last life there were always parties, it was a shame that had gone away. They were always the most fun when put in the spotlight. Truthfully tipsy Adel was more fun than tipsy Amin. Ki would ever admit this openly though.

His eyes rose to the ceiling with amusement as Adel tried to mess with him, he faked a hurt look, kicking her lightly under the table before going back to eating.

"Oh... Excellence," She paused looking carefully at the book before swallowing a mouthful of rice. "It means being really good at something, success that kinda thing." she defined taking a sip out of her water glass before continuing.

"But mostly people use the word Excellent than Excellence, it has more uses. Such as you are excellent, or Amin is an excellent cook," Bambi grinned towards the other boy.

"Or... Kal is not excellent at multitasking," Bambi laughed nodding to the teacher on the phone.

"I'm sure Alice is at the playground again, just call her, I'd be more worried about Rayna. She's been hanging out with those Necroboys again, you know the ones who summoned that spirit on the track course two weeks ago, no good," Bambi replied truthfully chewing thoughtfully.

Adel grinned as she felt Ki's light kick, wagging her eyebrows at him when Amin wasn't looking. Kalyani smiled at the twins, oblivious to any of the antics going on at the moment. "You're quite welcome. I'm glad you enjoy the gifts." It was obvious she was absent from the actual conversation though, as she went back to her phone.

"Excellence...Excellent..." He fumbled over the word again, yet Shion nodded happily, feeling he understood Bambi's explanations. "This I can understand. Thank you Bambi." He set the book aside, digging in to his food and smiling. Kalyani blushed from her position, laughing sheepishly as she closed the messaging app she was using. "I suppose you're right. It's just a bit odd for Alice to leave without saying anything," Kalya mused, feeling a bit off about the disappearance. "But I suppose there's no harm to it..." She started dialing Alice's number, before stopping to stare at Bambi. "She what?"

    WHACK

Rayna's cheek stung as it took the full impact of the dealers blow, her head slightly cracking to the side. She refused to show this scum of the earth any signs of causing her damage though. "They say you're supposed to be the best in the business," she mused, wiping a piece of spit from the corner of her lips. "Yet I've never met anyone so unprofessional. I suppose that's the price for dealing with lesser beings," she huffed haughtily, before fixing her cold ice eyes on the shadowed figure. "I gave you the payment, now hand it over."

The figure took a step closer, making Rayna laugh as she shot her hand out. The figure stopped and laughed back, pulling their hood back. They were seemingly disappointed when she didn't react to seeing their face. "This measly necklace isn't enough to buy what you're asking for. Blood of a dead, rare creature? Live organisms to test your little science experiments on? Is the little princess too weak to call up her own bodies? You live in a house full of mutts, and you're telling me you need guinea pigs?"

Rayna shrugged passively. "I don't owe you an explanation. Now are you going to give me what I paid you for, or do I have to knock you back again? If you weren't able to pull through just tell me so I can find someone worth my time."

    ~*~

"That girl," Kalyani sighed, closing her phone after her second to call Alice went unanswered. "Rayna told me she would be unable to make dinner. I can't exactly punish her for that," Kalya sighed, before glancing at Ki to give him a warning shot then eating the rest of her food. Amin took the opportunity to speak up. "So, about this day of fun stuff we're supposed to have. I don't know if it's been decided, I think I remember some people throwing out suggestions. But I wanted to request something fun, like a festival. I don't know if that's possible, but we haven't been to a festival since we were young," Amin motioned to his sister, who looked perplexed and thoughtful. "So if there is one, we would like to go."

Ryker sighed as Bambi shared the information she had on Rayna. It reminded him why he didn't tell her any secrets, the girl was too honest for her own good. There was nothing good that would come from her admission, no doubt Ki would be more than willing to tell the Necromancer who'd squealed on her. Then he'd have to deal with it. A total bother really.

Taking a sip from his glass Ryker swished the tart liquid in his mouth before forcing himself to swallow, the metallic taste making him want to gag. Blood bags sucked royally. Gretta said he'd get used to it eventually, and she was the Queen of Stockholm... If she could break the desire he could.

Ryker's fingers quickly shot another text out, his fourth in the past 15 minutes, still no answer. Very worrying. She always texted back, within seconds one of those stupid emoticons would pop up on his screen, overly chipper and exaggerated it was unlike Alice to go so long without checking her phone... Even more unsettling his call before dinner went straight to voicemail.

Bambi was right about the park, Alice went there almost everyday, but she never went alone, she'd told him it was depressing to do that. She always begged someone to go with her, usually it ended up being Shion or him simply because Bambi was always studying. This worried him. This worried him a lot actually. Sofie's promise at revenge or her own twisted version of retaliation was still ringing in his ears.

If she came across Alice, there was no doubt in Ryker's mind Sofie would have little selfcontrol. She enjoyed being dangerous, doing things which risked everyone's safety. His sire was spoiled, demanding, and childish... And Alice was too trusting.

Grunting as Amin spoke for himself and his twin Ryker pushed his hardly touched plate forward; he wasn't that kind of hungry tonight anyways.

"Kalyani may I be excused, I'm going to go look for Alice, everyone's needless worry is irritating," he stated as if she had pressured him to do this. Refusing to admit unlike the others he was actually worried, being worried would mean he cared... Which he didn't Ryker just didn't want another body to be his fault. Not again. Not so soon.

Kalyani shot her attention to Ryker, pausing for a moment before nodding seriously. "You're excused. Call if you need anything, and don't stay out too late either..." The last sentence was placed as an afterthought. Ryker was more than capable of watching after himself, or so Kalyani liked to think. She smiled graciously as she turned to answer Amin's questions.

    Image
Shion sat in his seat, glancing at Ryker as he left the room, looking at Bambi. "Does he need help? I can help, maybe?" He felt the need to push away from his seat and follow the older boy, but truthfully it probably wasn't anything serious and he'd be more of a nuisance anyways.

In all honesty, though, eating at the table was a bit odd without Rayna's intimidating presence or Alice's bubbly one.

Rayna sighed, wiping her hands on her shirt. She'd need to get rid of these clothes now, and it was all because of stupid, unreliable pawns like this guy. He grunted from his spot on the ground, barely conscious. She laughed, a cold hollow sound that showed no amusement. "This is what I get for dealing with the amateurs. I don't have time to waste on you or your kind," she hissed, grabbing the guys face harshly with her hands, digging her nails into his tender skin. The softness surprised her, but she supposed it'd make it easier to wound and mark him. "Tell your boss the next time he sends me his weakest members, the more angrier I'll be."

She let go of his face, throwing him to the side as she did. Her skin crawled as she picked up the things she had come for, sneering as she realized they were low quality stuff. "I'll be taking my payment as well. You can earn it back when you bring something of actual quality," she called behind her, after tucking the items into her bag.

"Ryker... Admitting he needs help is like Ryker admitting he's worried," Bambi snickered before chewing her food slowly. "Hey pass the salt," she commanded taking another bite of rice. All this studying had totally starved her.

    Ki
"So is he paranoid or is it just old age? Wonder how long before we have to put him out to pasture," Ki snickered as the vampire left earshot, no way was he going to say that to his face.

"He might be literally older than dirt, Kal can we play the how old is Ryker game? If someone guesses right they can skip classes tomorrow, sounds fair enough right? His age is in his file so you know, right?.... Clue one, are dinosaurs involved?" Ki winked towards Adel, letting his laugh escape freely.

"Seriously as if Babyface could get in trouble," he huffed blowing out of his nose. "She's too stupid to get when people are making fun of her- trust me I've tried." Ki declared openly pushing his plate away.
