What do you use when you are writing? Do you use a tablet or a computer? Why?

I use a tablet because it's easier. If I go somewhere and don't have my laptop with me, it's much easier because I have all my written work right on my iPad. I also use it for a lot of other things that come in handy as well. I can't seem to write things on my laptop anymore like I used to because it's such an inconvenience for me when I'm always on the go.

Before I got my iPad, I used to copy a few sentences from my story on my laptop to a notebook, the biggest hassle for me was coming home and having to write a two page story on what I wrote while I was out and about. >< I'm always writing constantly too, even if it's just simple things such as a grocery list of we go to Walmart or something.

I use a bit of both. I use my phone when I'm out and about, my Kindle for when I'm reading/surfing the Internet, but mostly I write on my computer since it's easiest and I type like a pro on a keyboard.

I use my laptop for everything pretty much. I don't have a tablet and really don't care for one. I just don't like them and they are a lot slower.

I like writing on my laptop because I can do it a lot faster. I have written a little bit of stuff down on my iPod Touch though. That's usually only at night when I have ideas and don't want to forget it.

I love my laptop for everything personal, my tablet for work.

When I'm writing/researching/browsing the internet, I prefer to be on my laptop because I like the keyboard since I've become so used to keyboard shortcuts that not having them on a tablet actually annoys me. But for work, I love having the tablet because it's lightweight, it's portable, it's small so I can prop it up places, I can run from place to place with it without a hassle. I don't use my tablet outside of work though since it's synced to my laptop anyway.

I only use a laptop. I don't think I'll ever use a tablet, simply because I don't see the point in it. I prefer typing on an actual keyboard, and I think tablets are a waste of money. I'd rather just use that money to get a better laptop than to split my stuff up between two devices. Plus, I'm usually either at work where I can't actually use any device anyway, or I'm at home and my laptop works just fine.

Computer/laptop. I find it so much easier to type on a real keyboard.

I usually use my laptop for writing. Sometimes I'll use my phone and nook to write but I use my phone to browse on the internet and to quickly check on my things here but my nook is used to transfer stories and such. I haven't used it in months though. OMG NO!

I prefer a computer/laptop for pretty much everything that isn't straight-up reading or playing games.

I'll use my tablet if I have to but I find that using it for browsing and typing is time consuming and often really frustrating. Maybe it's because I have stubby fingers?

I only really use my tablet for watching Netflix, playing games and as an out-loud music player. I find it incredibly difficult to type on my tablet so using it for that sort of thing is a nightmare. I used to take my tablet into university with me to use before I got my new laptop though, so if I desperately had to, I could use it. I just prefer not to.

For me, I've always preferred writing on a solid keyboard. My job requires that I'm pretty much able to touch-type, so I find it incredibly natural to type things out on a keyboard as opposed to a touch screen. I actually sometimes type too fast for the touch screen on other devices to register, so writing on my laptop isn't something I think I'll change at any point. Now I've got a Mac as well, I can sync my iPad and my Mac via the Cloud servers, so I can download stuff if I absolutely have to on my tablet if I don't have my laptop with me.

I don't actually have a tablet, but I've tried my friends' tablets and I will probably never get myself one, at least not for writing. I'd just find it awkward to use: it's not big enough to work like a laptop, and yet it's too big to be held like a phone. If I ever buy one, I'll get one of those bluetooth keyboards to go with it.

I have a tablet and it is very useful, especially if you like to move around. For writing, I like to sit at a desktop, its more comfortable for me that way.

I have a laptop, and it's more comfortable to sit in front of the laptop. Tablet and mobile have limited screen options to concentrate on tasks.

I would recommend you to to have two laptops, or better one PC and one laptop to stay autonomous and independent in your work. When I had just had one single laptop, I was literally saved by https://www.auslogics.com/en/articles/fix-input-not-supported-on-monitor-2/ only, as one not so happy morning my Windows refused to boot.
